Pal Mickey

I have looked at Pal for 2 years now and keep talking myself out of it. I have continued to save this year so we will have extra spending money while we are there, and I think I am finally going to purchace one this year. Hopefully the tips are helpful, but it will help keep my DS5 occupied in lines.

I've had my Pal since 2003 and he was about the same price then - maybe $5 cheaper. My next trip will be HIS 3rd trip and when I booked, my Pal was the first thing I thought about packing. I just love taking him along for the ride. I ALSO especially love how he "welcomes" you to each park. It's really a simple idea, technologically, but I think he's really fun to have.

I bought one for my friend in January for her birthday at Disney, FYI you can pick him up at the store rite near the entrance where the lockers are. We enjoyed him alot kinda funny when all of a sudden he just vibrates and does his little laugh and starts talking about whatever he is near. I think we ended up buying every outfit they possibly made for him. His batteries only lasted for about the 4 days we spent at Disney so you may want to look into getting better batteries if you are gonna spend longer there.

I am very happy that we got him and cant wait to use him again when we go back in May.

As I said before, I haven't been to WDW since 1981 I get so excited. lol!!! We just decided last week to go. I am even dreaming about WDW and the DISboard's. I hope this happens to alot of Disney fans. :tinker:

My Pal Mickey is now on order. One of the girls I teach with left for Disney a few hours ago and I sent $120 in Disney Dollars with her (along with my list of requests). I am so excited to get it, but i am going to try to have the willpower to keep it at school until May so I can give it to my husband-to-be as a wedding gift. I am also having my friend pick up the Mickey/Minnie bride and groom ears. I thought it would be fun to have them for our wedding showers, bachelor/bachelorette parties, rehearsal, etc. WDW will be part of our honeymoon and we'll probably wear them there too.

I really think I may burst from the excitement before it is actually time for the trip!

We just got back from our honeymoon at WDW and the ears were definitely a good investment! Lots of people (including cast members and regular guests) congratulated us all the time!

Also worth getting are the "Just Married" pins from Guest Relations. These got us a free dessert at Kona. ;)

Congrats on your upcoming wedding!

I went to Michael's the other day and saw a cute sweater for only $2.99. It would be a wonderful winter sweater. I can't wait. LOL:simba:

I cannot wait til October gets here! I am so excited about our trip! This will be our first trip with my 3 kids and my grandson. I really am looking forward to getting my very own Pal Mickey. Lol, I know I am a big kid. Oh well, i believe this is what Walt had in mind. :mickeyjum

We are going for our First time in Oct. and since first hearing about Pal Mickey knew that he was a must have.Just 1 question,in more than 1 post batteries have been mentioned!!Does anyone know what size and how many he needs so we can be prepared?

Wikipedia lists it as 3AA batteries are needed. I noticed you are going in October as well. We are arriving on friday the 17th. I can't wait. This trip will be only my second visit to WDW.:mickeyjum

I did hear someone say to make sure you bring extra batteries from home. As they are expensive in WDW. And it is 3 AA's.

Thanks Jackie,Yeah we will be there Oct.13-21.Can't wait, our 1st ever vacation that doesn't invlove visiting family!!I already plan on bring my battery recharger for other stuff,so now that I know what size and how many I can make sure I have enough for Mickey.

I absolutely love my pal mickey, he has the pirate outfit. He does take 3AA batteries, and a screwdriver to get the battery compartment open, otherwise you can take him in the mk, to the kodak place on the right when you come in the park, and they can change them for you, they have the tools there. Enjoy yours, I know I can't go without mine!!

Since Pal Mickey was such an investment, we sent him along with my neice for her trips to WDW. We have an older one ,so I hope he still works. We hooked him up to a lanyard with a metal clip and wore him around our necks. He was alot of fun. You can also play games with him when you are not in the parks.

Thanks for the heads up about Build-a-Bear. My daughter wouldn't see a problem going there at least monthly. LOL We are going from October 17th thru October 25th. We are staying at POP.:tinker:
