Hi, I was just wondering....does the Pal Mickey work on the cruise? Is there anything that would make him start talking?

Unfortunately not yet.

They are supposed to be installing the infared beams for Pal Mickey, but the last I heard it hasn't happened yet.

It sure would be great if he did work onboard, seeing as how we are picking one up for each DD at WDW the week prior to sailing.

Pal Mickey is sort of an interactive toy, and then some.

He is programmed with hundreds of different facts and tips and he tells you them as you walk around the theme parks. He will also tell you about characters, attractions, hidden mickey type trivia. As you walk, little sensors set him off without you knowing. He's pretty neat. Each time you come he gets "reprogrammed" so to speak with up to date information. Sorta like your own personal tour guide in the parks.

Then while you are waiting in line, he can tell you jokes, and he plays games. He is about the size of a small plush toy. He retails for $60...
