Pal Mickey (& Friends) Adventures & Fashions

Wow Minnie is styling now! You two are going to have a ball on the cruise in June. I'm hoping to have time to take pictures of Nicky this week-end. He still has clothes he hasn't tried on.

thanks. Minn is a little show off-ee :goodvibes I need to get pics of Pal with his new shorts and t's as he is jealous. :rotfl:

A friend going with me on the June is taking her Pal Mickey. We decided instead of us both bringing both kids each, she would bring Pal and I would bring Minn. Of course in Sept Mick and Minn will go with me.

Hope to see pics of Nicky this weekend in his duds. Need to see other Pals showing off their duds, and that smile on his face being proud to share and show.

So looking forward to those pics.

 :dance3:

Returned on Saturday from our trip to WDW and are settling back into the normal routine finally. LOTS of laundry - ours and the kids after being home by themselves for a week, and apparently NOT doing any laundry!

Thought I'd share a couple pics with you all...

Waiting to go last week:

At Epcot...for some reason, my husband insisted on carrying my PAL when he was with me!

I think I've taken up enough your computer screens now...so I'll stop. It was fun to tour with PM and he got LOTS of attention...mostly his crocs...but his mini pin lanyard was noticed a lot too. I packed WAY too many clothes, and poor Mickey did stay home when I went to Pleasure Island. He was too young for that night...

Oh, we did see Davy Jones, but no seat as we arrived only 5 minutes before the first show. It was a good show, but we couldn't stay for the second showing because we had to get to Coral Reef for dinner. Mick did the quick change into his scuba gear and off we went.

Great pictures Patty. I would love to see more.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Patty - love the pin lanyard, and the crocs. Getting my little guy crocs later this week. My trip starts Thursday. Meeting up with brady and a friend of hers this coming wknd. Crocs are being brought by friend - so its a surprise for him!

Glad to see that hubby carried Pal for a while. Noticed it did not look too smoky in that pic from Epcot. My worries are that it will be smoky all week from the northern & central FL fires. Did you find the smoke tolerable?

oh - and post more pictures please

Patty great pics. hope to see more later. I looked for you guys at the 8p Davy Jones performance. But with the crowd, it was like finding a needle in a haystack. Wish could have found you but hopefully can catch up in your next trip down.

Hello! I just discovered this thread. I'd love to make some outfits for my newly-purchased Pal Mickey and I am guessing that this is the place to ask about it.

What patterns have you found that work well as far as fit, etc.? I've looked through the pattern catalogs (Butterick, etc.) but would like to know what works/doesn't work before I purchase anything.

I thought it would be fun to make outfits for what we'll be doing, like Chef Mickey's, MNSSHP. Not that I need any new projects to work on. Ssshhhh -- don't tell DH!

Thanks!

Patty's the best one with that information. I know that she uses doll clothes patterns that fit American Girl dolls and then reduces them by a certain percentage (but I don't remember the percentage).

If you can find the patterns that aren't as "girly" as the others, you can do well with modifying them. I reduce most in a copier anywhere to about 80-85% of original size. Some are easier to use than others. Most still need tweaking after being reduced. I've made a bunch of my own patterns too.

It's mostly a try, fail, succeed thing. Depends on what you want to make too.

Enjoy your new family member! He will soon have more clothes than you can possibly imagine....

Thanks, Patty, for your message. I'll start looking through the patterns I already have and those at the fabric store, too.

I think that I may have found a new obsession... not too good of an idea... I already have too many! And it makes me kind of regret just bringing two huge bags of fabric scraps that I thought I would never use over to the kid's art teacher at school last week. Oh well - it will get put to better use over there!

I am planning on making Mickey head tie-dye t-shirts for my family. Now I guess I'll be making one more tiny one!

The tie dye tiny ones are really cute. Babytrees made some for the travelin' pals at the beginning of their trip. They are so cute.

Here is my first attempt at making clothes for Mickey. I purchased the tee from BABW and just took the arms & sides in a bit. I wasn't up to taking it all apart just to get it to fit tighter. So, it's the baggy look for him!

The jeans I made out of the bottoms cut off of DS's jeans that were made into shorts. I used the original outside seam and hem, and cut & sewed until they fit. The shoes I got at AC Moore.

We're going to a Nat's game on Tuesday, but I think that Mickey will stay home (the kids don't know that I have him yet!). Besides, DH would just do this: :rolleyes2

dear quiltymom - love the way those jeans look - pockets in the back too! Great idea using fabric with existing seams. The BAB stores have baseball caps that actualy fit Pal. I got mine an Oriole's cap - so they surely will have 'Nationals'. The baseball caps are the only thing I've found a BAB that fit without extensive sewing revision necessary. On their bears the caps look very small. On Pal they are just right, and good quality too! They also have small baseball pennants on a small stick which includes a rubber band loop. So pennant can fit around his hand.

Happy hunting.

Hey DisGal --

Thanks for the tip! I did see caps there, but thought that they would be too big. I didn't see any pennants, though. Maybe I wasn't looking hard enough!

I'm heading back over to the mall tomorrow, so I'll check it out.
