Pal Mickey (& Friends) Adventures & Fashions

Hi,

Just want to ask you guys a strange question. If more than one person has a pal mickey, do you (both or all) keep them on in the parks? Do they talk at the same time? Are they loud then? See, strange question, huh?

I was considering getting one for my MIL for her birthday trip in Sept, but I think he is pretty cool, too! So if we both got one and took them to the parks...see what I mean? (I think I just want to know if my DH and FIL will want to kill us, or worse yet - hurt the little Pal Mickey guys!)

Ok if I am understanding correctly, yes they both will be activated when near the transmitters. They really aren't that loud, actually for me to hear what he is saying I have to hold near my ear. I can hear him giggle but then pick him up put near ear to hear what has to say.

We have this thing we do when more than one Pal is in group. Is when giggles to notify you has something to say, we will count to three and press his hand at the same time. Then we get Pal in stereo LOL.

If was driving other family members nuts, take turns which one is turned on. So their both not turned on at same time. One on for hour, then the other. It would be like the one off is taking a nap :goodvibes

Or when both giggle and shake letting you know time to say something, then just press one of the Pals hands. So then only one will speak. Can take turns doing that too. So not pressing hands on both each time ready to tell you something.

Pal is a lot of fun, and you may be surprised your DH and FIL may enjoy him as much :)

get both. have fun. and if DH and FIL have difficulty give them ear plugs LOL just teasing. really think all the other noises around hearing two Pals isn't going to be much louder.

good luck:goodvibes

Pal Mickey doesn't talk unless you squeeze his hand. He shakes & giggles when he has something to say. If you want to hear what he has to say, you squeeze his hand. I was worried about DH's reaction to Pal Mickey and it was for nothing. When Pal would giggle, DH would ask what he had to say and I'd have to hold him up so that we could both hear him. I wanted to leave him in the room one day and DH wouldn't let me.

Awesome, thanks! - nope, I didn't know that he talks when you squeeze his hand, thought he just went on an on (like magic!). good to know! you guys are talkin' me right into getting two of them, ya know that don't cha? :rotfl:

Vicki has a way of doing that...she should get a commission on all the ones that have been "persuaded" by her enthusiasm.

I actually think I had mine first but he wouldn't have been as well travelled or as well loved if Vicki hadn't been around. :flower3:

Awww, you guys are awesome...

I was thinking of buying him (in a tuxedo) from the outlet store (I found the phone # and price on the boards by doing a search).

Would save some pretty good money buying two, I think!

I am thinking of making up a gift basket with Pal Mickey in it with some other things to give to my in-laws who will be joining us - it is both their birthdays on this trip! They live in Fl, and we're in Ohio, we don't get to see them as much as we'd like to, so I want to make this a really special trip.

Maybe matching shirts for all 4 of us (grown-ups/couples trip!) to wear to MNSSHP, and I'll put those in the birthday basket too! Just started looking at this board last night. Wow. The creative shirts are amazing!

You can take the MNSSHP graphic and reduce it down for a mini shirt too! I did that with two graphics for my next trip so my PAL has matching shirts for me on two of the days I'm there.

Someone else posted one of the sites for good sized t-shirts - I used jiminee's and just took about and inch off the bottom of their "cap" sleeved shirts. They came in great colors, had snaps on the back, and I even used iron on hem tape to shorten them up. Easy! But I was able to get the lime green color I wanted that way.

Have fun with your new friends. And share your adventures here! We'd love to see pictures!

Matching T-shirts with the little pals! how cool would that be! yeah, I like it! Now, to figure out how to get the guys to wear matching t-shirts with us women and mickeys - not to mention the four focker watcher lanyards I have too!! I will just have to throw some pixie dust on them to convince them to get in the spirit of "young at heart-ness"!! :goodvibes

If I can make this work - I will take pictures and post them!

thank you

Mary somewhere in this thread i have pictures of my Pal Mickey, a plush Minnie and me wearing lime green shirts with a DIS logo that I ironed on each. and yes the cap sleeves shirts from jiminees work well. little long but still work. the baby knit shorts from there also work well for Pal Mickey.

if want or have time look back thru some pages/post if want to see pictures of all of us in lime green matching. or click on my link in signature brady's pal mickey photo album. i have pictures there too with us in lime green DIS shirts.

buy both, and have FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my my my! Those are adorable pics!! (what is jiminees??) see, told ya I was new over here!

Hi everyone...well, I've finally lost it....went nuts trying to find a good pair of jeans for PAL and finally decided to bite the bullet and make them myself. I was so nervous about them, but it wasn't so bad. They have two front pockets, and two back pockets, and I think they came out cute if I do say so myself. So I treated PAL and bought him some new sneakers to go with his new "tough guy" look :lmao:

Well, just wanted to share! Hope everyone is having a good day...and staying warm wherever you are...will Spring ever come?

And for the back side (no pun intended)

Those are really cute! Did you have a pattern, or make them up yourself? How do you get them over his feet?

:thumbsup2

His feet smoosh down nicely, so getting the pants on was actually easy. I take patterns from other doll clothes and shrink and modify them to fit PAL's measurements. If you are patient with store bought patterns, you can do this, but they definitely need to be modified to work.

I make some of my own patterns...a lot of the pics in my photobucket link at the bottom of my siggie are my own patterns actually.

If you like to sew, go for it. If you are like me, you can't find all the wardrobe pieces you might like to get in PAL's size. So I make them. It's fun.

OH love his new jeans. I am so impressed with your skills and talent in making clothes for Pal. Now get him a baseball cap that he can wear sideways LOL.

He looks great and you did a wonderful job. Keep sharing anything new.

Thanks, I just got my Pal this week, and I already made him a pair of PJ's this way, modifying a pattern I had, but I don't think I have any patterns for jeans, so I just thought I would ask. Maybe I will get creative some day and try to make jeans, but I will do a few easier things first.

Congrats on your new Pal. Now with the weekend snowstorm we hear NY is in for, are you making him a snowsuit????

here is pic of Pal and his tent (the tent I couldn't put together for our cruise in Jan LOL) I still think there must be another or better way of putting it together but for the life of me, I don't see anyother way.

so for now Pal at least has his tent standing upright and he can hang out in there.
