Pal Mickey for $27.99

Just wanted to let everyone know that the mousesavers.com newsletter today said that Disney Character Warehouse has the original Pal Mickey for $27.99! Pal Mickey has been upgraded with new clothes and a few new features for the Happiest Celebration on Earth. The older PM will still work just fine in the parks. If you're ordering outside FL, you pay shipping, but no tax. The number is 954-846-7161. I ordered one for each of my kids. They were interested in PM last fall, but I wouldn't pay $65 for one. Now, they can each have their own. I plan to put them up for b'day or Christmas, to hang onto some Disney magic until our next trip.

We were told he will pick up the park info as we enter. We were also told the Magic Moment pins that lit up during parades and rides will also still be working. Can anyone confirm that as ours need new batteries

Does anyone know what the new add ons are to the new one other than the cloths.
We are doing our honeymoon very frugally but my Df Really wants the happies celebration on earth mickey. I already own the old one so im hoping to be able to save the 60 dollars. can you buy the tux that the new mickey wears to put on your old one.

I just ordered my 'retro' Pal. Wow! The castmember was super friendly. Asked if I knew how he worked, suggested I stockpile batteries, and we chatted about my upcoming trip. I've heard people say how nice everyone was, but gosh, she was really nice! Said I'd have him in 5 to 10 working days, to call back if he didn't show up soon, but that most people are not having any problem. What a great way to get my kids even MORE excited!!

I bought them the Birnbaum's book WDW for Kids by Kids from Overstocks.com. Maybe this can be their end of school present.

We got two yesterday and I agree with everything said. Just to remind you a 10.95 postage and handling charge is added as well as tax. We still figure we got 2 for the price of one.

Since I've never owned a PM, I don't know how the non-park features differ from the older version. I figure I can add my own lanyard if that makes carrying him easier.

Can't wait until mine arrive!

we rented one 2 yrs ago for my DD.
she liked it, but got tired of carrying it after a while
also, the speaking voice is a bit low when you are in the hustle & bustle of the parks. I think I had more fun with PM than my DD did

Me, too!!! Both of my dd's bought one (with their own money) in 12/03!!! I asked if they were sure about 100 times, they each got one. Only one brought him back on the trip last month. I ended up carrying him and listening to him more than she did!! I will be borrowing him again in two months!!

Here are the version 2 features that are listed on the Pal Mickey fan site:

1. 25% of the content has been updated
2. Additional character greetings, showtime reminders and attraction short wait tips
3. New celebration theme park attraction and entertainment tips
4. Interactive trivia questions replacing 50% of the jokes
5. Increased volume of voice
6. 3 additional games (will now have 6)
7. 7 sing-alongs
8. Interacts with new glow medallions
9. Removable tux jacket
10. Carrying lanyard
11. Rain poncho, pin trading, safari and tourist outfits will be available for sale in summer 2005

I had also read that the head size is a little different, so perhaps old clothes will be hard to get on the new ones. Not sure about this.

The factors that seem most useful to me would be the louder speaking voice (5 above) and the trivia that replaces many of the jokes (4). I guess the lanyard is nice too.
