In two weeks we are headed to WDW for our first Disney trip as a family!!!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

My children DS10 and DD5 are so exceited that they can't sleep! :cloud9:

My son was reading about Pal Mickey in our travel guide and he really wants to have one to take to the parks. I told him that we will rent one because they are just too expensive for us to purchase. :sad2:

Well, I just read on the boards the other day that they are no longer renting them for $8/day like my guide book said! AAAHHH!!!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

So, I have been looking on E-Bay (as suggested) for a Pal Mickey to purchase. I have been watching these auctions and they are getting ridiculous! By the time the auction ends, the bids are in the $50.00 range and I just can't afford it!

I know this is a crazy question, but can anyone LEND me a Pal Mickey for our vacation in two weeks? We leave on the 11th and I will priority ship it back on the 16th when we are finished with it. My DS loves trivia and games and thinks this is the coolest thing. I don't want to let him down but I just can't swing that kind of money while saving for our trip!

Hoping for some pixie dust! pixiedust:

We love to go throught the parks finding the secrets - for example the talking water fountain in Epcot. The talking garbage can (PUSH), hidden Mickeys, Walt Disney's name on the second story window of the shops on Main Streeet, the raining umbrella at MGM. I've gotten lots of trivia facts from thes boards and actually put a list together that kept my family busy without renting the Mickey pal. You're kids are at the age where they'll love looking for hidden Mickeys - the less items to carry and keep track of the easier it'll be on you.

Just a thought.

Have you ever used the Hidden Mickey book? People on the boards seem to enjoy it. I have it on hold at the Library and I hope it comes in before we leave! I was hoping it would take the sting out of not having Mickey with us...

I, too, have thought that Pal might be a little on the cumbersome side...I just keep getting swept up in my children's excitement! I can't help it. I can't sleep either. Its going to be a long two weeks

We went in October and before we went I ordered Pal Mickey over the phone from a Disney Warehouse place. It was the one from the previous year but it worked fine. There were about 4 attractions that he did not talk about but my kids didn't notice. It was only $15.

I am going right now to research where I got it from. I just threw the receipt away last week and now I am kicking myself.

Have you checked Character Premier? They had the older version for $13.99 plus tax & shipping. It was about $22 in the end. Their number is: 954-846-7161

Oh my gosh! you guys are the best!!! Thank you for the phone number. I'll call right now!

Just an update...
I just called Character Premier and they have not had any Pal Mickeys in stock for quite a while.

Oh, well. I think we will probably just make do with our own magic...I've gotten so many great ideas from this board that I think we will be just fine finding our own magic!

Thanks for everyone's input. You guys are the best!

I will look for our Pal Mickey. It is the old one. We leave in one day for WDW until the 8th. We are staying at POP, where are you staying? Maybe we could leave it for you if I can find it?

Thank you for everyone's help and input. :thumbsup2

Fairy dust has a way of working on this network and we have a wonderful pixie who is willing to help us. pixiedust:

Thanks anyway, PatsFan. We will be all set. But...just curious, where in MA are you? We are on the South Shore!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I got an old model on eBay -new in the box- for $16.99 + shipping with :Buy it Now." You could keep your eyes open and look every day, sometimes, people will list them cheap.

We are in Reading, 12miles north of Boston. Glad you are all set! I haven't started packing yet! EEEGGGGHHHHH! If I don't pack it, I can always buy it there, right? :woohoo:
