Paid FP options coming soon to WDW?

I just don’t like people trying to act like hard working employees are incompetent.
People who don't work in that field, me being one, don't have a clue. I've had it explained to me by someone who is an expert and in lamens terms and I still took some time to follow it all and get the jist of it. The new platform has been the bane of the it departments existence since they brought it online.

One of the Disney fan sites I saw on Twitter is running an article that has details about the Genie systems and how they have heard the wishes could work. It is NOT the site that can't be named, but I also don't know if it's a credible site (or one that can be linked here) since I don't follow them regularly. Basically, they hit on several of the rumors many of us have been hearing (bundling, some paid and some free, etc), including that they are having trouble rolling Genie out and may need to use the old system first. I thought it was interesting more/more consistent information seems to be getting leaked, which may indicate we are getting closer.

Just read the article, god it sounds like complicated.

I hate the idea of having ride “packs”. I just don’t like the sound of the whole thing.

I def agree with not liking the ride packs.

I guess it does makes sense in one hand. That kind of thing might inadvertently (or purposely) help with crowd dispersal and line management. But regardless, the current tiers with fastpass+ aren’t the best imo and this “packs” idea doesn’t sound much better.

edit: spelling

The problem with packs is people who like different levels of rides.

For example if a Mountain pack existed the only ride out of it I would ride would be BTMRR. Space Mountain sets off my motion sickness these days (although DLR's version does not likely because you sit side by side instead of front to back) and Splash Mountain because you get wet most often is weather dependent, and mood dependent. My husband would ride BTMRR and Space Mountain and would ride Splash Mountain if I were to ride it.

Thrill Pack well I would only ride Slinky Dog. My husband would ride RnRC and ToT (I used to ride that but not anymore with my motion sickness).

So then it would be like we're getting a pack that is useful to not all in our touring group.

Packs are awful for touring parties who have different interests and level of comfort in rides. Tiers were annoying when you felt you had to throw away a FP but were usually split regarding popularity of ride not type of ride.

Does it make sense to group rides? Sure it does, but that's only useful for a very specific type of guest of which at WDW there are guests that vary quite a bit (especially taking into consideration multi-generational family trips).

Also I wonder with height restrictions how will these packs work. BTMRR=40 inches, Space Mountain=44 inches, Splash Mountain=40 inches. Slinky Dog=38 inches, RnRC=48 inches, ToT=40 inches so would the value be there for a family if their child wasn't tall enough to ride all the rides in a pack? Plus is a person who is interested in Slinky Dog necessarily the same person looking at RnRC?

To me more questions arise than answered in this rumor lol

Very very valid points. I really hope they just revert back to old fp+ for time being.
