Paid FP options coming soon to WDW?

That was my first thought and I'm not sure they'd make any changes if they're just rolling out old FP+ temporarily before moving to a new system. My guess is we're going to see the old FP+, just as it was before closing, at least for a while.

At that point, I do think it's going to be based on resort level, but I think they'll do it more like Universal. A Deluxe or DVC comes with FP+, for all others, it can be purchased. They may discount it for other resort levels vs what they'd charge off site guests. I don't see a system where it's the number of FP's you get based on resort level. A system where the highest level gets 3fp's and no more makes no sense to me and would under utilize the system.
And I have a hunch that most, if not all APs will have this included at no additional charge as part of their benefits.

That wasn't the case with MaxPass at DLR. I think it was still a bargain, but there was an additional charge.

Random thought, does anyone think the fastpass testing we saw that poster talk about earlier this week could have had to do with the extra magic evening hours for deluxe they just posted? I imagine that will work the same way as it used to and you have to tap in for access.

Would make sense particularly if they re-tier and raise prices. I have a feeling when aps come back, they won't look the same
I can imagine they might try to distinguish out of stat passholders somehow... They hate local APs but I imagine out of state passholders are among the most profitable. I doubt it would benefit anyone, just speculation on my part.

I don’t think extra hours would require that kind of testing, and they more then likey wouldn’t be conducted testing for it (if it even needed it) this far out. Just my two cents though

This is just an assumption based on IT progress. The old fp+ passed test environment and live environment so the next step was park testing. The "other" fp system had only passed test environment and was being tested live environment again this week. So im thinking it was fp+ testing

I understand your thought and it makes sense. I'm just putting together information and trying to think logically. If they were bringing back aps in the same form, that is doable on the new platform because they have been doing it. But they are running tests on another ap system so it leads me to believe they are changing something on tiers/ benefits and tie ins to other programs (fp system, whatever it may be)

I thought it was interesting that all of their systems went down yesterday for at least half of the day. Whatever they were trying to test yesterday obviously wasn't agreeing with the system!

Were the fastpasses in the your plans section, go into the park you are headed to and in there? I can't remember where it would be.

New fp system ( not fp+) was the only non live integrated program being tested in live this week. Havent heard results yet. But if that was it, the likelihood of fp+ as a stop gap gets stronger since it passed all levels of testing.

It's looking that way from what I've heard too.
It makes no sense to do that. All its going to do is upset a lot of people when they do implement a monetized system. IMO they should just wait til they get it up and running.

Make people upset over the summer with no fastpass or a paid optoon now, or make people upset in the future if they take away a free option and convert it into a paid option (of sorts).

I think no matter what though, whatever they do will upset people. And I think they prob know this. What I think they want to avoid logistically thoufh, is cancelations or rebooking because of any FP announcement. So that will probably weigh on their decision making more, I would think 🤷‍♂️

With the announcements so far they seem to not care much about the summer guests. Everything is for the big 50th

Can’t disagree there. I think they’ve written off their summer quarter to a large degree. Still keeping my fingers crossed for fastpass returning for summer though. I do think there are economic implications with fastpass for them, which is what will incentive them to release it to public sooner. But what do I know
