Paid FP options coming soon to WDW?

You dont think that they know when you have left the park as well? when youre on a ride zooming past a camera automatically linking your Pic to your MDE is any different from walking out the small pinch point for leaving a park? they are always studying behaviors to see crowd capacities and times of days and park hoppers and where they are leaving and when
Yeah if you have your MDE with your Location on (which I often do to get quick directions to a ride/restaurant) I suppose they can track exactly where I am at any given second. If they are tracking this closely they will be concerned how many times they see me bouncing around the World Showcase in August. Mexico? Again? ;)

They don't usually know much. I lost all hope for fast pass by July 4th so now I am blah about it

The photo was nice. Did anyone actually ask if the person tried to book a fast pass on it lol

I think I’m in the same FB group because I saw this photo posted as well. The person who shared the photo said he did attempt to scan his band on it and nothing happened.

Disney is going to have to make reasons for staying onsite. I have a feeling that they will with FP, but we will see.
In recent years, Disney has:
  1. started to charge for hotel parking,
  2. eliminated Disney's Magic Express,
  3. reduced Extra Magic Hours to 30 minutes in the morning,
  4. eliminated FastPass+.
Why the heck is someone supposed to pay Disney's crazy prices for staying onsite?

Yeah, they better do something with the FastPass+ replacement.

2 and 3 are both Covid protocols, but sure.

I meant three and four.

here’s the thing- Three and four made sense when there was a ton of social distancing and lines snaking all over the park but not now. (Actually as far as I can tell number three never actually happened but has been said it will happen at some point. I don’t remember anybody checking against if you were an on-site guest or not like they used to for EMH).

And I think we’ll have to wait and see what happens with fast pass because obviously with lines getting back to normal it’s some thing that could return. However I have no faith that this company will not find a way to eek a profit out of it.

As for EMH- Please tell me how limiting morning EMH to 30 minutes is a safety protocol and not just about Disney cutting back on onsite perks?

This was and remains an issue of staffing. EMH being cut down was to make hours predictable and to ease the staffing issues of an extra hour or two at parks.
As staffing levels get back to normal, these staffing related perks will return.

I know. Very true. I am going to go with my gut that surely they will tie a resort reservation in, because if there is no advantage there, I think their bookings will decline at some point.

EMH is not coming back. It says so on their site. When it does return it will be a 30 minute early entry for resort guests. I would say that's hardly a perk.

You have extra magic hours. I was told that's a good perk as it gives you an advantage to getting more rides in.

With magical express they are doing some new service with mears I thought in 2022 (local so fwiw don’t 100% keep up on that info)

I'm waiting for them to start charging for kids 12 and older the extra adult fee.

It can, but at what point will that be gone too?
Disney announced in January that EMH is not coming back. See:

https://www.mynews13.com/fl/orlando...rld-ending-extra-magic-hours-for-hotel-guests

Instead, it eventually will be replaced by a shorter 30-minute opening at each park, which Disney calls "Early Theme Park Entry".

30 minutes will give you a head start to get into a popular attraction line such as SDMT, FOP, SDD, or TT, but with those lines at more than 30 minutes soon after park opening, you'll be hard-pressed to get in more than one line before everyone else is let in.

"The benefit, which gave hotel guests extra time in select theme parks in the morning or at night on select days, has been suspended since the parks reopened in July."

Nothing in that article says the Disney is canceling EMH. While I am not disputing the idea that they would I have not seen anything directly from Disney saying they are going to end it.

Quoting the article further:

A new offering called Early Theme Park Entry will be rolled out later this year.
With the new benefit, hotel guests will be able to get into any theme park 30 minutes early every day.
“The new early theme park entry will help us better spread visitation across all four theme parks, while providing added flexibility by giving guests extra park time on each day of their vacation and in the park of their choosing,” Disney said in a post on its official Disney Parks Blog.
Hotel guests taking advantage of early entry will still need valid admission and a park reservation.
Disney has not yet announced when guests will have access to the new benefit.

I would provide a link to another competing website also announcing the end of EMH, but don't believe I can do so.

Touring Plans, which I think I am allowed to link to, includes the following:

Early Theme Park Entry | Walt Disney World (touringplans.com)

Disney ended the long-running Extra Magic Hours in 2020. The successor "Early Theme Park Entry" program begins in 2021, sharing some characteristics with its older sibling but also having many differences.

Extra Magic Hours is over.

I stand corrected. 😳
