Paid FP options coming soon to WDW?

I see some sort of Max Pass system coming. Deluxe and Deluxe Villas will have this included with Reservations.. All other Moderate and Value rooms will have option to purchase with Tickets. AP's will have included on Plat and Plat Plus with all others option of add on. All other guest will have to purchase separately.

The psychology is very tricky for them.

DH who is a very free spender but he grumbled at the thought of paid FP, said he refuses to pay even if it was $10ea/day. This is the guy who added ‘more space’ for $80ea after I got us $11rt airfare. Or still shelled out $400+ for a rental car even tho we absolutely don’t need it at Boardwalk. First in line to buy Boo Bash. BUT… Paid FP is a bridge too far lol.

What I think important to WDW decision-
Something comes complimentary w/ticket
Some onsite advantage, nothing crazy like UO
Limited access so standby is less affected

I just can't convince myself to stay off site, so our trip is either go or don't go depending on FP and the details on how it's done. They won't just lose the resort fees with me, they lose it all. I don't begin to think my 6-8k trip will impact them, and that's not my reason for making the choice to not go.

Yeah this is likely the case for me too. My youngest will be less than 2 for his first trip next year, so I could see us doing one more trip later on down the road just so he doesn't feel left out. But it's pretty much on-site or bust for us (especially for my husband). I'd be hard pressed to stay ON-site, if I felt like it made better financial sense to go off-site and there were no on-site perks, but my husband would just not want to go in that case. And we'd probably just wind up going somewhere else, where can both get exactly what we want.

Like many of you, without the inclusion of some included perks (FP+, etc.) for guests staying on-property, I cannot bring myself to going through with our family's August trip to WDW this August. It is just too expensive to stay on property without any of the former perks.

We booked a 11-day trip that was scheduled for early last July at the Yacht Club in which our family of four had a FREE Disney Dining Plan. At the time of booking, FastPass+ was still available. Extra Magic Hours still existed. Evening fireworks/Fantasmic were still happening at all parks. Parks opened earlier and closed later. All of the park experiences and shows were open at the time of booking. Unfortunately, COVID hit and everything was scrapped.

Our 12-day trip at the Yacht Club that is scheduled for this August is nearly the same price as what we had scheduled last year without any of the former perks or free dining. The least that Disney could do to is provide guests staying in property with FREE Fastpass+. Without that perk, or some sort of EMH/early opening for resort guests, I will definitely cancel our reservations.

I am so torn since not booking these things has reduced the stress of planning my trip in August however on the flip side fast passes do provide that peace of mind that you might not have to wait very long on certain rides. If they cost money, however, unless it is a pittance I will take my chances with stand-by.

FWIW, I just chatted with a Disney rep on the Disney World site and she said that as of now the FP+ is still suspended and they do not know when it will be back. I am hoping she is wrong.

They don't usually know much. I lost all hope for fast pass by July 4th so now I am blah about it

The photo was nice. Did anyone actually ask if the person tried to book a fast pass on it lol

I wonder if the way around having the Fast Pass system need to interconnect with the Park Reservation system is to only allow them to guests via the MDE while in the park that day -or- via these machines. You know they can track when you are in the park with the old Rise of the Resistance virtual queue (which I liked better than the current system because it rewards folks who make the effort to make it to the park early).

I think the VQ just knows if you have tapped into the park, it doesn't know if you're still in the park when going for a boarding group.

Good point.

Change my sentence to "you know they know when you tapped into the park." ;)

Bottom line...fast passes are available for the current park you are in based on your last tap-in. Fast passes are available after 2p when hopping (unless fully booked already).

Sounds like it might be easy, but based on the MMRR debacle from last year when MMRR was made available where the FP system blew up and I ended up with about 5 Muppets fast passes that I didn't pick nothing is easy.

As a non-rope dropper, I really don't want to have to be in the park to get fastpasses. It'd be like going back to the days of paper fastpass, just without the running.

Yes that is a valid concern. The early birds would get the worms no doubt.

You dont think that they know when you have left the park as well? when youre on a ride zooming past a camera automatically linking your Pic to your MDE is any different from walking out the small pinch point for leaving a park? they are always studying behaviors to see crowd capacities and times of days and park hoppers and where they are leaving and when
