Packing list for those driving?

Could someone point me in the direction of a packing list for those driving? Or what should I not leave home without? Such as paper plates, paper cups, extra oil for the vehicle.... those sort of things.

I don't know of an official list BUT somethings that i can think of include: pillows, paper towels, air sanitizer, we use beach towels as blankets (double duty), list of road games....I'll try to think of more.

We're taking the portable DVD player and some movies that I bought so DD8 will be interested in them. God Bless the person who came up with that idea. I also printed games off familyfun.com and puzzlemaker.com with some things to color. A blanket and pillow for the sleepy head, which is usually me. I also have a book to bring along and a word find book.

I don't have a list, but when we drive we always take a spare key just in case we lock the key in the car.

We never did picnic lunches, and the oil was changed and fluids checked a few days before the trip.

What we brought--a small cooler with some bottled water and sodas, DS's DVD player and a few movies, and a roll of paper towels.

All of our vehicles have a first aid kit, a fire extinguisher, and a flashlight always carried in them, if you do'nt have these items they are something to consider.

We did the ride a couple of years ago driving straight through overnight from Boston to WDW with my 3 year old daughter in my Nissan Xterra. We brought with us pillows, paper towels, beach towels as blankets (double duty), a medium and large cooler full of bottled water, milk, our favorite drinks, sandwiches and snacks. Depending on the type of car you're driving you'll probably be stopping along the way for gas every 3 or 4 hours. There are MILLIONS of places along the way to get ANYTHING you might need to make the ride smooth and easy.
You're going to be surprised how easy it is to drive to WDW.

My husband always packs a tool kit for the car, never know when it will come in handy. If driving in the winter we also take some rock salt or that type of thing.

Thanks for all the ideas. We do round trips in a day to Springfield, MA several times a year (5 hours each way plus the stay for several hours at the hospital) We are thinking it will be a nice "Sunday drive" but do not want to have to make too many pit stops for things we forgot to pack.
