Anyone out there have a great newborn packing list or some suggestions for an ideal thing they took with them? Travelling with a 3-5 week old in 2 months and want to get the shopping out of the way before HRH arrives. Any help/suggestions really appreciated - starting to get a bit nervous about thinking I could do this...

I took my DD 1.5 to WDW for the first time when she was 3 months. We were using formula so I bought the 8oz. ready made cans of formula. It was great to just open a can and feed the baby. We also loved our baby bjorn! Sunshades for the stroller are a must. Newborns are easier the you would think at disney world. We took our DD when she was 1.3 and it was a nightmare compared to when she was younger. I would also suggest bring a ton of your own diapers, they cost so much in the parks. Oh yeah a ton of film or a digital camera with a lot of space on the card. We took over a thousand pics of our DD just on our first trip. :earsgirl:

My DD was a little older on her first trip to WDW (4 months), but IMHO WDW makes it very easy to travel with an infant!

Not to put any pressure on you, but if you plan to breastfeed it'll be a piece of cake because you won't be lugging around bottles and formula. If you are formula feeding, you might want to splurge on some of those premade nursette bottles so you don't have to worry as much about washing bottles, nipples, etc. in your hotel room.

If you have a Baby Bjorn, definitely bring it! We took DD on pretty much all of the rides in the Baby Bjorn. It made waiting in lines much easier.

Find out what kind of crib or pack and play the hotel provides and bring your own sheets. The baby's skin might be sensitive to the commercial laundry detergents and we have found that most hotels just wrap a regular sheet around the crib mattress which is a SIDS risk.

Make sure you have a hat for the baby. You might want to ask your pediatrician about using infant sunscreen. Ours told us to use it on DD when we were there, but I'm not sure about a 3-5 week old.

Don't forget to use the Baby Care Centers. With the exception of MGM, they are great and pretty much have everything you would need in case you have forgotten something or run out.

Good luck with the arrival of your bundle of joy!

My toddler was 6 weeks old on his first WDW stay.

What I'd pack depends on a few factors:

Will you have a rental car?

Are you staying on property?

By the way, be sure to use the baby care centers, they are awesome!

Our DD was 2 weeks when we took her last March. The trip wa smuch easier than we touht it would be. I did attempt breastfeeding her in the Bbay Care Centers which aside from MGM are great!!! Yet DD was a formula baby (difficulty with bf) so we brought the 2oz mix sticks and stuck them in the diaper bag. You na find these for Similac and Enfamile at WalMart, Babies R Us, and Target. I would suggest that you bring your own formual as it isn't cheap in the parks. But it's there if you need it. Also bring your own diapers, atleast 1 big bag.

We also brought a free sample that I had of Dreft and some quarters. My SIL needed to do laundry so she washed the baby's at the same time.

Definately bring a hat, we used sunscreen. DD probably spent more time in her Snugglie front pack than her stroller. DH also spent the majority of his meals wearing her in the pack as we found this to be much more convienent, plus most resturaunts aside from Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace didn't have infant seats.

Baby swap is a wonderful thing and is very easy to use. Just like Fastpass.

If there might be a chance of rain ALWAYS cover your stroller with a poncho! We had ours parked under an overhang out of the rain at the boarding area for Rafiki's Planet Watch Train (?) and when we returned our stroller had been moved and was beyond soaked. This included all of the baby's blankets (excpet the one with us)!

Always keep a change of clothes for the baby, or atleast a new onsie, pair of socks, and a sleeper. Don' forget burp rags either.

If bottle feeding be sure to bring extra bottle liners, a bottle brush, small bottle of dish soap, and if you have it a small bottle drying rack. Ice packs are also nice.

Of course the camera and film

Enjoy this time! Our DD slept so much it was a breeze! :earboy2:

lovethattink, we are staying onsite at BCV in a two bedroom and we are not bothering with a rental car – trying out MYW instead. I imagine we will spend a lot of time at the hotel. Thanks for all the great replies. Please keep them coming!

The reason I asked it you would have a rental car was that you could pack less and make a trip to Walmart for stuff. However, without a rental car that would be hard. It is difficult at times to find small diapers at WDW. They always have medium, but never have infant and often is hard to find small. So be sure to pack enough diapers. I think they had one kind of formula at the resorts, but I bf my baby, so I wasn't really looking for this. Pacifiers are hard to find and so are bottles at the resorts. They have one standard bottle and 1 type of pacifier at the parks and resorts. We go all the time, I'll try to take a pic of what they have available to buy as far as baby stuff goes. There are very few infant outfits available to purchase, as well.
