I am taking my neice with me to WDW in June, I don't have kids so I am not sure what I should tell her parents to pack/buy. Her parents are not vacation goers so they wouldn't know.

Also any must sees for her and at 9 years old is she too young to do a tandaum parasailing?

You're a good Aunt!:woohoo:

Off the top of my head:

hair thingies for ponytails
conditioner if she has long hair, to avoid tangles
sunscreen
snacks, water or juice boxes. Keeps costs down and great to have while in lines.
my DD10 does use her sunglasses.
Cheap glow sticks from the dollar store to give her at Fantasmic & Illuminations

The usual extra clothes & good shoes. DD actually likes to wear her rainbows instead of sneakers. So do I.

I'll get back to you if I come up with more.

Any medications she might be taking. You need a permission to treat form & her insurance info(just in case.)A favorite stuffie or two, a color book & colored pencils(crayons melt), An autograph book & chunky pen, hat, poncho.

DS9 says the following:
  • Snacks
  • Travel games (either handheld electonic, or Connect Four or something like that)
  • Drawing materials
  • Mister Fans for the heat
  • Sunglasses
  • Poncho
  • Autograph book
  • Camera (DS always gets a small disposable for his own photo collection)
  • DISNEY DOLLARS! (Yes, he did shout that)

Also:
  • Small backpack or waist pack so you're not stuck carrying her items
  • Abridged medical history with contact info and insurance info - Index card with allergies, current meds, illnesses, etc. (This was invaluable to us when DS had to go to the ER in 2000)
  • Small first aid/med kit (It seems that if I have those Pepto tabs, no one ever needs them. The minute I forget to pack them, boom everyone has a stomach ache!)

(Some of these are reminders to myself...plus my kids getting older and help with other things. Plus - we drive to WDW so that explains some items...mine were 14,15,16 on the last trip)

Cameras, Charged Camera batteries, Autograph Books / Movie Camera-batteries
DVD player & movies CD’s
1 small pillow & small blanket each,
Poncho’s

Thanks everyone for all your help. This will really help with the list I need to give to her parents. Her parents have never taken a vacation, so they are not too sure with the packing. Being that I do not have children myself, I was not sure as to what to tell them.

I thought I posted this yesterday but I did not see it on here. Make sure she takes whatever she needs for the pool: goggles, floaties/life vest.

What everyone else said so far :rotfl::rotfl:

I bought a "WDW for Kids" book specifically for my dd8 a week or so before our trip, and packed it in her suitcase. Every night at bedtime, instead of a story, we'd read about whatever park we were planning on going to the next day. :)

I had an aunt who didn't have children of her own; she took me and my sisters to movies, on vacations, etc. when we were young (there were 12 of us, all girls, and she'd rotate the groups). Those special times with her are still some of my fondest memories. :) Your niece is so lucky to have you! :thumbsup2

If you are driving like we are, a portable dvd player would be great. My son will also have his video game system and books to read.

Also any must sees for her and at 9 years old is she too young to do a tandaum parasailing?

I was looking at info on parasailing last night. It said there was no age limit and in the reviews someone had taken their 2 year old on the tandum ride. Single riders have to be at least 100 pounds.

My DD8 loved the Aqua Seas Tour at Epcot. We got to swim in the large aquarium and use diving equipment. She took off like a pro, while I felt like I couldn't catch my breath.

Horseback riding and the Hoop de Doo Review were 'hits' with her too.
