Packing list for 11 month old?

We are taking our 11 month old on her first Disney trip in less than a month & I'm starting to work on packing & putting together an order for garden grocer. Does anyone have a packing list they'd like to share of important things to bring for their baby? I've got the basics - diapers, food, formula, etc, but wonder if there's something you recommend that I'm not thinking of. TIA!

Disposable sippy cups- you can toss them before you head home
Extra ziplock bags in larger sizes for wet clothes/ dirty diapers etc.
OTC meds- like Tylenol
A favorite bedtime book and toy
Sunhat and infant sunscreen
Small soft sided cooler to pack favorite snacks and drinks
Clip on fan for stroller
Full coverage disposable changing pads for restrooms
Disposable placemats and bibs too

Take a few of thier favourite toys away a few weeks before and then re-introduce at the parks, makes for a much happier little one with some fav's to play with in the hotel etc.

- Bring ear plugs for fireworks and the loud show's for little one. They have them that dont go in the ear canal. Worked great for DS last two years we have gone.

- glow sticks as a distraction in dark rides. We did this specially in the haunted mansion. DS screamed the first time though, second time with the glow stick all was good.

Great recommendations so far, especially the Take & Toss cups and utensils (which we hardly ever tossed, but it was nice to have the option), disposable bibs & disposable changing pads.

I'd also add Take & Toss snack bowls. Table toppers are great for keeping germs away and for entertaining the kids!!!! The ones we have come with crayons so the kids can draw on them. They're from Green & Clean & can be found at Babie's R Us http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2668340

We also brought a couple of Sippy Pals. They are tethers that you attach to the stroller, high chair or carseat. You can use them for sippy cups or to attach toys to. They're great to keep you from having to bend down a million times a day.

Our son was 11 mos old on our first trip, which happened to be in August. Here are some of the things we found invaluable....

1. A full sized stroller with all the bells and whistles. AND a baby carrier, not a backpack. There are loads of places that baby can go that the stroller cant, and with a front carrier baby can stay put on the rides and in the shows without needing to take baby off.

2. Table Toppers. There are pre sterlized plastic mats that stick to a table. This makes finger food on any surface a dream.

3. A rain cover for the stroller, and cover it anytime you leave it unattended. We learned the hard was just how quick rain moves in and out. We came off a ride once to find the stroller soaked. Should you find yourself in this postition, take the pad off the seat and use diapers to dry it off.

4. Shoes! Please don't put baby's feet down without them. I once saw a toddler rolling a cigurette butt between her toes while waiting for a boat. And my new white shoes came home from WDW very dirty. Any little shoes will do.

5. A hat with a soft brim, so baby doesnt bonk into a hat visor when falling asleep.

6. ziplock bags. Just keep them in your diaper bag. Who knows what you'll use the for? Leaked on clothes? Rain ponchos? I don't know why you will need them, but you will.

7. A large changing pad, so you can change baby anywhere on the fly.

I will report back if i remember anything else.

Don't forget a sippy cup. My 10 month old drank from a straw for the first time in WDW because we forgot to bring one.

I have packed individual ziploc bags w/ everything I need to change a diaper. So each bag would have a diaper, a disposable change pad/sheet, 3 wipes in a snack sized ziploc bag. Then when I needed to change the baby I just pulled out one of those ziploc bags & I didn't have to lug my whole diaper bag w/ me. Plus when you are done, everything goes back in the ziploc bag & thrown out like a disposable diaper bag.
This is especially handy on an airplane. The only thing you will need to pull out separately is some vaseline/diaper cream.
I think ziploc should be paying me some royalties for all the times I have typed "ziploc".

If you have the space take a few small water toys for the pool (and sand if you have "beach" where you are staying)- cups, buckets, sprinking can etc. My DD loved scooping and pouring.

Thank you all SO much for some really great ideas!! I hadn't actually heard of disposable changing pads before - I may look into those! I also bought a stroller fan last week & I got her some cute sandals over the weekend - she hasn't been wearing shoes much lately, but will definitely wear them if we put her feet on the ground there!! Yikes! LOL

Just wanted to add: the blue pads they use in hospitals are good disposable changing pads. You can get them at the drug store. If it were me, though, I wouldn't bother really. Instead, if I were concerned about germs, I'd just use a wipe to wipe down the changing table before placing the baby on it. Or bring one out with you, but fold it up and reuse it - it may add too much bulk in your diaper bag to bring much more than you will need.

Definitely wipes - the antibac kind? I wipe my kids hands constantly at WDW.

And also plan for your day bag while in the park: glow sticks, snacks, at least one change of clothes, etc... Oh and dry socks (if your child is wearing them).

We took our DD for the first time when she was 15 months old. Just a few suggestions:

Take triple the amount of wipes you usually use. You will use them for everything.

Take gallon size ziploc bags and keep a few in the stroller and a few in your bag.

A rain cover for your stroller. We actually used an adult size ponchos. There is nothing worse than coming out of a ride/attraction to a wet stroller.

Make sure you take double the amount of diapers on the plane with you. We almost ran out last trip and we couldn't find them anywhere in the airport.

I had my DD wear a bracelet w/our cell number on it around her ankle. It is like a LiveStrong bracelet. I think I got them through spirit bands.

Clorox wipes to wipe the room down with because her hands will be on everything low and a lot of the times it isn't clean that well down low.

I saw far too many moms at WDW change little ones without wiping off the table or putting anything under their child and then walk away without wiping it off either, so I like to have a barrier between my baby and the changing table because I just don't know that a wipe can get up all of those germ. I'm sure it happens in most restrooms, but I saw it so much at WDW because there was usually a line for the changing tables in restrooms.

Thanks for more great tips! I will definitely be using a changing pad!! And I plan on wiping down my DD's hands very frequently at WDW (hubby & I use the purell all the time anyways) but, I'll especially wipe them down after diaper changes....just in case! LOL

I also love the idea of the clorox wipes for the room.

I work in early care and education and I think it's a good idea to wipe/wash a child's hands after a diaper change anyway, Disney World or at home.

One thing I overlooked the first time I went with our DD (then 2) was a blanket. We went in the 95 degree heat of June so it never even occured to me to bring one...until the first night in the hotel when I went to lay her down in the pack and play in the freezing cold hotel room. She spent the night in bed with us. We found a cute pink Minnie baby blanket in a gift shop the next day.
