Okay... we leave on Saturday night for our week at Disney!!! I CANNOT wait!

We live in NC and the weather here has been the pits!!! Cold, nasty winter weather (this from a girl who was born & raised in Rhode Island, so I know what winter is like ;) ) ...

The last time we went to Disney it was two years ago and we went the last week of January. My DS#1 is warm natured, but the temps were in the low 70s that week... he wore shorts with a t-shirt and then a long-sleeved t-shirt on top in the cool mornings...

I've been planning on dressing him and DS#2 like this for this trip, but the weather report says High 60s/Low 70s for the week (High 60s Sun/Mon and then Low 70s the rest of the week... but the LOWS are in the high 40s/low 50s) ....
Anyway, WWYD? I hate taking a ton of extra stuff... Do I plan on putting them in pants instead of shorts??? Or do you think they'll be fine if I throw a jacket in the stroller for each of them... their little legs might be chilly until it warms up? :confused3

HELP!!!

Unfortunately the weather this year has been colder and very unpredictable and makes packing for Disney this time of year even harder! We've been several times this time of year and each time it has been warm enough to swim but then the week following ours it either turned colder or rained. But so you don't have to pack alot of extra stuff, my suggestion for you is to take a pair of sweatpants and a sweatshirt or jacket for each of your kids. The sweatpants should easily slip over shorts and can be pulled off when it warms up during the day and should fit in the bottom or back of a stroller.

Have a Great trip!!

Fellow NC'er here!:cheer2: My kids are home for the 3rd straight day!:sad2:

We went in January for our last trip and had the same issues. I ended up layering and changing at our mid mornig break or at lunch. It was a bit of a pain, but waiting for those busses can be quite chilly if you are planning on being there for rope drop! And you will be miserably hot if you stay bundled up all day! DH and I managed in shorts, shortsleeved shirt with a fleece pullover that we could take on and off. We had chilly legs in the am, but it was not bad. On our girls we often layered tights - but that won't help you!:rotfl2: We also did jeans, short sleved shirt, and sweatshirt. We would peel off the sweatshirt and then if they needed it we stuck a pair of shorts in the stroller. We would just switch during a potty break. It sounds like a bigger pain than it actually was. If you can store the extra layers for the whole fam in a stroller it is no big deal at all!

We're also leaving in a week and are planning on zip off pants for our boys. This way they start as pants and once it's warm enough and they want to change we just zip the bottom portion off and viola - shorts. We carry a few safety pins on the insides of our bags and just pin them together once off to make sure a piece doesn't get lost.

Hi another fellow N.C.diser... We went last April and camped at FW...It was chilly in the am but warmer throughout they day the would get cooler at night! My dd15 and I are always cold so we would wear shorts and shirt. then put sweat pants on and jacket over. This worked out great! I also have ds13 and dd2 that did the same! I just stored our stuff in stroller and back pack really didn't take up much room!

Yeah we're leaving in 8 days and can't wait. Her in Louisiana we've gotten snow last year and the year before. So if Florida is like our state pretty unpredictable around this time of the year. Bring a back pack and make sure to have extra pair of socks, rain poncho, light jacket or blanket along with sweat pants and long sleeve for the night time. Layers, layers layers!!! Good Luck and have a blast.
