How do you pack differently for a DVC vacation other than to take some food with you. What about trash bags? Pool towels? Other items possibly not
provided? Or ones that we should add to the list?

We have been doing this for a while so I should be getting this down by now. Thanks to another DVCer I learned to get a plastic shoe box. Tis has every little thing we need so we don't have to go to the on site store and pay the price. It depends on what you are doing really. We have done WDW by ourselves up to having 19 for Thanksgiving.
The shoe box was one tip than another was save those old prescription bottles and take the lables off. I have filled them with everything from italian spices, in case we do a quick spaghetti to dishwasher detergent.Remember a little bit goes a long way.
When we flew on the large Thanksgiving trip I shipped everything to myself at the BW without a problem. I sent everything from tablecloths to tooth picks! On that trip we met a woman who had shipped everything including clothes and brought, no lie a frozen turkey! Now that was a memorable flight!
I always bring detergent for the washer/dryer sheets for the dryer. I also include a dish cloth from home. They provide you with a sponge, but I'm strange and don't like to wash dishes with a sponge. I also pack an extra dish towel. Seems like they provide you with one, but I always need another. I also bring zip-top baggies. I always find a use for those.
We always bring a canvas shoe organizer/holder and hook it over the bathroom door. It is great for keeping everything from suntan lotion, elect razor, shampoo, band-aids, to flipflops, and shoes, etc. in a convenient organized place. Even in the 1 & 2 bdrm units the counter space is at a premium. Have a great trip
Yes, bring coffee and coffee filters, as well as half and half, sugar. They only provide that powdered creamer and not much sugar. Whenever possible, we purchase bottled water because that tap water Of course, I'm spoiled. Lived in NYC for many years where there is Great tap water.
I like to bring a fitted sheet for the bed, and pop that right over the existing bottom sheet that covers the mattress. I really hate that the sheet comes undone on the bottom, lol.
I also like to have clorox wipes or lysol wipes to disinfect everything (although I know there are lots of people who would bring this to a regular hotel room, too). Very handy for giving a quick daily wipe to the bathroom and kitchen areas since you don't get daily mousekeeping.
I like to have baby wipes (even though we don't have any babies with us right now).
If in a unit with a full kitchen, also bring salt/pepper and miscellaneous groceries.
laundry soap and fabric softner sheets ( hate taking home dirty laundry)
Clorox wipes ( clean every thing fast)especially the remotes bathrooms and light switches
zip lock bags ( always take a wet wash cloth to the park for kids)
not sure what else to add the posts pretty much covered all of them, these would be my top three cant live with outs..
I usually bring Coffee and Filters from home. (They have a standard 12 cup Mr Coffee in the kitchen)
However, after we check in, we usually make a shopping run to the local supermarket, WinnDixie.
I have been bringing a popup hamper so the dirty clothes are put in one location until ready to be washed. We just put it in one of the closets and everyone puts their clothes in.
