Packing for kids

We are going to Disney Sept 19-26 with my dd 6 and ds 2. How much extra clothes should I bring for them? I don't want to overpack or underpack.

Honestly I'd pack an outfit for each day, but then pack an extra outfit just incase.

For the 2 yo I'd pack extra wipes and diapers, (I forgot the diapers one year - very expensive at Disney - I know how can you forget diapers!) but for the 6 yo just an extra outfit should be good. Make sure you pack the swimmie diapers and bottle stuff. Hats for the little one.

For diapers and supplies- I ordered from Drugstore.com and had them sent down to the hotel last year. Just an idea if you are tight on space.

the kids typically wore 2 outfits a day- one for parks (it's hot, it's humid- think comfy gym shorts and t's) and then after evening baths, another outfit for dinner (collared shirts if going to a signature restaurant). It really depends on touring style- if you will go to park, stay at park through closing and then head home, you will need 1 outfit a day. In that case I might pack a spare t and even shorts in a ziplock in case the kids get soaked in the rain or on a water ride and want a quick change.

Kim, We are having the same delimma...
we won't want to over pack..

This is my wife and my first time going to WDW as PARENTS..
Our kid is only 6 months but babies require a lot of stuff!

How many onesies and such should we take for a week?
How many diapers is enough? Should we just take a whole box of 92?

This is quite a new avenue for us..

How much stuff is too much?!:scared1:

I've been wondering this too. I have 2 boys, ages 2 and 4. I'm planning on one outfit for each day (so 7), plus 5 extras. I think we will take a break that many days, so that allows them to change into clean, non-sweaty/dirty clothes after the break. If we don't need them, then at least their clothes are so small we're not out too much space. I'm putting each outfit into a gallon ziploc. When you do that, and squeeze the air out, they really get small!

As far as diapers, how many do you use each day now at home? My son uses about 5, so I am planning that many times 7 days, plus 10-12 extra just in case. If I get desperate we can get more there, but I think we'll be fine.

I would say 2 outfits per day, per child for 3 days and then do a load of laundry mid-trip to cut down on packing. Even though we used this rule, we still packed too much for DD as she only went through one outfit a day and on 2 days, went through 2 pairs of shorts.

Peterparker29 - how many diapers do you go through a day now? Add 1 or 2 more per day and take (or order - we ordered from wegoshop.com) that number. For some reason, our DD went through more diapers per day at WDW than she did at home. We also packed 12 diapers in our carry on luggage on the way to WDW.

I would say to OP: take a week's worth plus a half. Kid's clothes are small and you should be able to shove in some extras! Don't forget extra socks! If you don't want to take too many clothes, you can always do laundry on your trip.

I would take at least one pair of long pants and warm top. We didn't think spring break would get cold, but one night dropped into the low 40's!

Is the 2 year old potty trained? I would pack pull ups for just in case and have spare clothes in your bag for the parks!

Grandma always said it best, "lay out everything you want to take. Take half the clothes and twice the money!"
