My daughter was 16 months when we took her to Disney in 2007. It was a great age to take her!!!
Besides the ordinary clothes, shoes, diapers, etc. A few of our tips.
1. I packed outfits in the ziploc bag. On each bag, I wrote which shoes she was to wear with each outfit. That way, my husband could easily dress her if I was showering. (He isn't the best at picking out coordinating outfits!). It also saved a ton of room on packing.
2. I took enough diapers for only 24 hours and order a pack of diapers from gardengrocer.com. Less room in the suitcase and the price wasn't all that bad. I did the same with wipes!
3. I bought a cheap pack of baby washclothes at
Walmart. I think they were like 8 for $1. I took a washcloth each day to the park. I would wet if and wipe DD's face and neck when she got too hot. She loved it.
4. I took a beach towel with us to drape over her stroller when she napped.
5. Each night, we packed the diaper so we didn't have to worry about it in the morning rush.
6. I bought a small travel size shampoo holder and filled it with dish soap so that I could wash out sippies each night. I think we packed 3 sippies for one week.
7. In my carry on backpack for the plane, I pack some small toys, crayons, window clings and other little odds and end toys.
8. All of DD"s clothes were packed in teh carry on suitcase should the airline lose luggage.
