Nikki looks just thrilled w/ her pettis, how can you say NO?:lmao:
You'll definitely wanna break out a ruffler for THAT!

...t.

How very cute!!!

LISA: Excellent little pettis!
I wanted something special for Lily to meet Cinderella too. She is her most favorite. BUT it is going to be so hot when we go I couldn't stand to put her in anything too fancy. Plus I need to find a decent Cinderella pattern. BUT I am going to make her a Cindy storybook twirl for our lunch @ Akershush.

The lunch I am now torn about. B/C we planned this trip so late our ressies for the princess lunch are @ 1:25. My family is hanging out by the pool that day and wanted to have dinner. Ohana couldn't seat us till 9:15 which was no good b/c they have to drive almost 2 hours to go home (we're staying another night) So I had her check Whispering Canyon Cafe and the best time they had for us was 5:00. Is that WAY too close to our lunch ressie? Should I just cancel it and let her have lunch w/ the princesses or do 1900 PF in Oct? I hate to blow off my family. BUT it is her birthday.

Well, Good morning Disboutiquer's what have you got to share w/ us today???

...t.

MORNING T, how are you?

Thanks for sweet words. The girls kind of live in their pettis. I was at least 3 a week. Kaity likes them alot but Mia LOVES them. Most of the time she has one on. She's worn them to play in mud, do yardwork w/her Dad,lol. She's even dropped a plate of pasta w/sauce on one once but they wash like a breeze so no biggie. Other than jammies and outfits for CRT I don't know what I'm going to make the girls this year really. Kaity has "issues" w/ruffles now because she thinks they are babyish. I'm thinking of doing velour sets a la Juicy Couture w/characters. They'll be comfy, no ruffles for K and they'll still be happy that I made them. Who knows, there is alot of time between now and December.

Ok, I've played and read enough posts this morning, time for me to hit the machines and get to work. Hope everyone has a great day!!

WOW!! I'm glad to hear that they clean up easy. That will make a big difference in my decision to get a few. I was on the fence since I didn't know how often she would get to wear them. My little loves to play in her dresses too. She is both a princess and a tomboy at the same time:laughing: SHe has an older brother and boy cousins and wants to keep up w/ them outside but MUST do it in a twirl skirt
Now I won't be afraid to get a few and let her wear them whenever.

HI T-beri!!!!! (Insert waving smiley here)

How far are you from Tampa?

We have an appointment there next week.

Not sure you saw my question before but how many yards of material do you use for a reg pettie? and what is the best material to use?

The set was originally $48 on sale for 50% off then i had another 10% off coupon! YIPPEE I can't wait to try it out today! I sew(so) need a life if I am getting really excited about a cutting mat and cutter! :rotfl2:

I say that Lily gets to have a princess meal on her special day! You spend a lot of time with your family in the real world, right? I mean it's not as if you aren't going to see them for another year or anything.

So here is my 2 cents on the meals. I'd do both. I'd show up a wee bit early for the lunch, enjoy the meal, and then go to dinner. You might have to wait a little for dinner, and then it will all be fine. In the meantime, I'd keep checking back to see if you can possibly get an earlier lunch or a later dinner. What is the worst that can happen? Yoy will have 2 enjoyable meals and feel an amazingly strong urge to exercise???

Here's a great tutorial for pettiskirts: http://www.marthastewart.com/portal...110VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD&vgnextfmt=default

It includes the yardage needed. The best fabric to use IMHO is a knit/tricot nylon. Wovens can be used but you'd need to find a way to finish the cut edges so they don't fray. The tricot nylon won't fray and is very soft.

It's always so sad when girls reach the age where they say no to ruffles. I can still get away with small ruffles at the hems but nothing too fancy for Zoe. On our recent DLR trip, I think she'd have preferred jeans or shorts and tees. Luckily I did the packing so she had few options that weren't the clothes I'd made for her. LOL Of course once we got home and I mentioned finding a new home for some of these, she suddenly decided she loves them. :rolleyes1

Zoe sounds just like Drew! I think they are about the same age too. When I try to get rid of toys that Drew hasn't played with in ages and ages they suddenly turn into her "special" toys and she informs me that she hasn't been playing with them because she is saving them. That is why our garage sale toys escaped while she was at school! The only thing that she has even noticed missing (out of 3 car loads of toys) is the Strawberry shortcake house and dolls. She was saving them so she could smell them later. I need to sell my house and just move us into a big storage shed!

Thanks! I am going to check it out now!!!! Do have a good website where you can order the fabric or do you just go to Joannes?

I hear you both on the now ruffles any more. Just let them check out The Limited Too and Justice For Girls clothes the most recent catalog has ruffles all over! So hopefully I can keep Nikki in ruffles a bit longer!

I'd do both. If Little is anything like Zoe, she won't each much during lunch with all the activity around her so she'd probably be ready to eat an early dinner.

I haven't been on all week. I have been dealing with life and that has depressed me emensely. DH has a job that doesn't pay near as much as he used to make and he won't find another job, even though he promised me that he would. The financial burden is falling on me and I'm currently in school so there just isn't too much that I can do. I already work two jobs, plus I sew. So, I spent the weekend with my grandparents and they let me vent about my problems. Yesterday I dug 7 post holes for my grandpa, who has been sick, for his new porch that he is trying to build. I'll be back out there later this week to help him put the posts in the holes and then start on the porch. He has given DH and I a piece of land on his property for us to build a house. He is even going to get us the loan to build the house. He has already drawn up the plan for the house and it will be a huge difference to what we are living in now.

I have been lurking, just been too far down to post.

I do want to give hugs to Riley  . I hope that the doctor gets his thumb out of his booty and does something for your angel.

I love all of the outfits that have been posted this week. It looks like everyone had a great fourth of july.

And Hello and Welcome to all of the Newbies. :cheer2:

Sorry you are going through this all. I know what it is like to feel so down. I have gone a couple of weeks at a time where I don't even want to answer the phone or get on line or really have any contact with anyone. Life can be so overwhelming sometimes.

I know that sometimes my dh gets in these little spells where he is just being unrealistic about what needs to be done. I think it's his version of a temper tantrum. He always pulls out of it and gets to work on figuring out a solution to the problem. Hopefully your dh will realize that he needs to look for a better job and you won't have to worry so much. Hugs!

That is so true! I never end up eating much either because I am so worried if I leave the table I will miss a character and Chris won't take the picture right!

You could always just order desert at WCC if you really aren't hungry.

Actually it's funny that you say that. Last night he told me that he was going to apply for a job at the prison that they have in Jena, LA. I asked him what changed his mind and he said, "I want to make sure that we can pay for the house when your grandpa gets it built."
