I am scouring the web for good prices on these cameras for the boys for their upcoming trip so if you see any lmk!

Hi disboutiquers, I have just been reading through this thread in awe!!! You are all so talented,I wish I could sew. Anyway, I just wondered if anyone with a creative mind can give me a few ideas. Me and my twin sister are 28 and are coming to WDW for Halloween. We are doing MNSSHP and have decided to just wear black pants and a black tshirt and dress it up a bit to look halloweeny.

Now yesterday I was in the local fabric store and saw the most wonderful halloween material. It is sheer/see through black or orange material with gold prints of ghosts, pumpkins etc on it. All I need is an idea of something simple to do with it! I thought about just making a scarf to tie around the neck but alas...it is florida so it may be a little hot for that. Any ideas would be much appreciated. thanks so much.

Do you not sew at all? Could you cut hole in the center and make it a cape? I guess I'm thinking like poncho. If the edges would fray, use some fray check to seal it, so it won't fray on you. On the shirt, you could go to the creative boards for something. Or use wonderunder and just iron on a shape to your shirt. Witchs hat, devil horns.

I have my MAW big give dress put together, but i think it needs something else

I thought about adding a tulle layer under the scallops or mabye bows on the peaks. what do you guys think??

I think this is pretty. I like both your suggestions. But knowing me, I'd go over board and do both.

I haven't been on all day, but I've glanced at the new outfits and they all look great! I love the WALL-E purse!

That's great Heather, that you're going back to WDW in Feb!! How exciting!!!

I finished a dress for my youngest daughter, and wanted to share. I bought some material and a couple of patterns the other day. But I HATED the patterns, and I realized why I don't use them. I like to do things out of my head. And I told my mom nevermind on the sewing machine, I really love to hand sew, I find it very relaxing. So I'm sticking to what I know & love! :thumbsup2

I'm very happy with it, I'm all about trim & ruffles!! The only thing I'm going to change is that it's too long, especially for FL in Sept! So I'm going to make it about 4 inches shorter and *attempt* to make a matching bow!

Thanks everyone for the answers about disneyshopping! I hopefully will remember tonight to go and order a few things for me!

Love the new walle dress and bag! I got my walle fabric today in the mail!

Whoo hoo Heather! I am so glad your mom said yes! What are your dates gonna be in February? I plan on doing a long weekend in January or February, not sure which one yet, gotta look at the darn school schedule and really don't want to do it when they are off school!

I have always found the Disney clothes to run big. I wear a 16 or a 14 though, so that may be why?

This is soooo cute. Do you mind sharing what pattern you used? I need to do some baby things for a charity sale at church and am lookin for a good pattern.

Okay, I whipped this up for Logan today. His measurements are almost exactly the same as Luke's :confused3 so that was easy! I had a hard time deciding on what to do for the tee shirt. I wanted to use a black one, but from what I've heard, I think black+Florida+August=:faint: So I went with white for the sake of not melting in the sun. Then I was going to just do a frayed edged applique using the same fabric as the shorts but I felt a little guilty because it would be SOOOOO easy :rotfl: So I decided to do a "real" applique. However I don't have the skillz to do much more than a Mickey head so I hope this doesn't look too dumb. Luke liked it. But he refused to open his eyes for the pictures. :sad2: The applique turned out quite well though, although some "normal" people may wonder why Lightning McQueen is in a Mickey head :lmao:

This is so adorable. I looked at that fabric for so long. I finally bought a couple of yards. No idea yet what to do with it.

Thanks for the compliments, it means a lot to know that others think my work looks nice!!

princessmom29- I didn't use a pattern, I just measured my daughter and cut the pieces. I just kind of created it as I went along. I can share the details, but it won't be very technical! :rotfl:

LOVE IT!!!!

I haven't been able to catch up from the last few days, but I just wanted to share my excitement with you all!!

I'M GOING TO DISNEY IN FEBRUARY 2009!!!!!!!!!
   My mom told me today that she would go with Tessa, Sawyer, and I. I had asked her a few weeks ago and it took her this long to decide. I'm footing most of the bill, so I thought it was a no-brainer! I guess hanging out with me and the kids isn't as fun as I thought! :rotfl:

This will probably be a 5 day trip, no 14 day marathon like our last one!

Okay, back into my dungeon to try and write my next TR installment. Teresa had hers done and I hadn't even started mine this morning.

   HOWEVER--I am totally kicking you out of the "I Really Hope I Can Go Back In 3 Years" Club!! :snooty:

Really cute! Joy is darling. That is Lily's middle name (and Teresa's ;) ) I can't believe you sew by hand though :faint:

Cheeseball, that is so cute! I have that fabric and a different purple, but I like the checkered fabric! I have sewn most of my life, but only in the last year or so got to making outfits without a pattern. I am so impressed! Did you say that you hand sewed the outfit too??

HeatherSue, congrats on the trip in Feb!!

Jham, we understand the mickey head out of ligthenMcqueen fabric!! It turned out really cute! I like to make mickey heads out of the fabric from the pants!

I know I forgot people, just blame it on my old brain! :rotfl2:

Thanks for the offer, but I am so NOT ready to go it "without a net" so to speak!!! That is just amazing. No pattern and by hand!!!

Well my sewing machine actually made it through the weekend (as some of you may remember, I was going to throw it out the window trying to work on my first tiered twirl skirt!) Well it's finally done! My DD wasn't in the mood to pose today but did enjoy showing off the twirl factor! The shirt isn't complete, I plan to do a ghost mickey applique (like on my ticker). Question is: What color thread should I do around the applique of Mickey's ears? Should I just stick with black (which will blend in) or should I do white/orange to make them stand out???? Thoughts ladies (and gent!)????

That came out really cute!

I started on my Big Give pages today too...Here are the Cindy pages:

Here are the Sea World Pages:

Are here is some Random Disney stuff that I will send onto Heather:

I LOVE that just like it is!

I finally uploaded the pics while the kiddos were still sleeping. DD4 is up now...

Here is her Wall E dress.
th_walledress1.jpg

She then insisted on taking a pic in front of her mommy made curtains:
th_walldressroom.jpg

And a pic at the movie theater. They had neat things to take pics with. The pic with the giant Wall-E didn't come out great, but this one is cute:
th_wallemovie.jpg

And now....the Wall-E bag!

Front:
th_wallebag1.jpg

This is the first bag I ever made. I thougt I did something wrong and ripped the entire lining out only to realize the only thing I did wrong was not leave a whole in the lining to pull the entire bag through. Now I know. It was a very easy McCalls' discontinued pattern I got from mom...
The Wall*E dress, bag, curtains, and your DDs are so cute!!!!

What pattern does everyone use to make the twirl skirts? I am a newbie and just need to be steered in the right direction:)
I bought Carla's Patchwork Twirl Skirt pattern from youcanmakethis.com and was happy to have her detailed directions.

I haven't been able to catch up from the last few days, but I just wanted to share my excitement with you all!!

 How exciting! Do you know your dates yet? I'm thinking of going the first week of Feb with just my oldest. She has 2 half days that week so we could do a 5 night trip and she'd only miss 1 full day and 2 half days of school if we arrive late that first night. I haven't said anything to her-have to wait and see about airfare first.

Thanks for keeping my secret Jeanne! :thumbsup2

I made my oldest DD a couple of tops last week but wasn't too happy with them. She really loved one so I guess that's all that matters but the other one was a very easy McCall's pattern and it was so low in the front that my DD wouldn't (and shouldn't) wear it. I was able to add a fabric panel to it so she can wear it but I'm still disappointed in it. I don't have a picture of it yet.

SO....I decided to go back to something I know I can do. My DD(9) wouldn't wear this at home but it is perfect for the Crystal Palace. She is a HUGE Pooh fan and just loves this. It looks super cute on and DD says she likes the feel of this lined dress. Sorry for the poor cell phone image....

I love it! That fabric is beautiful! I am in the process of a dress with a similar look. But I use patterns, not as brave as you! It is amazing that you hand sew and go patternless...;)
