What pattern does everyone use to make the twirl skirts? I am a newbie and just need to be steered in the right direction:)

There are a couple of twirl skirt patterns in the bookmarks. They are pretty easy. There is a patchwork one and a tiered one, they are popular. To be honest, the patchwork one is tiered to..each layer is fuller than the one above it for maximum twirling. but their is another that is just solid tiers too. As far as dresses go most people use Carla C's Stripwork jumper or Simply Sweet Tops and Dresses from YCMT.

OT - Has anyone ever ordered jeans from disney shopping for them? I have seen the boys jeans and always seem to run big and wide in the leg and don't like them at all. The girls seem super skinny, but what about the adult! I just want some basic jeans I could wear around the house and the prices are right do you think they run big, small, true to fit?

Thanks!

Now, THAT is how I like to start the day:woohoo:

Another fantastic Wall E outfit. I can't wait to see this movie. Especially if the fat people save the day!!! :rotfl:

I have an aunt coming into town who cannot help but give me a lecture about losing weight if I am not in a size 8 or less. Which, just to be CLEAR, I am not popcorn:: (that's not drama popcorn, it's me snacking!!!) So I have to start preparing to tell her that I am happy with myself and how many wonderful things I have going on in my life right now. The first part is completely a lie but I just can't handle her telling me I should really lose weight again.:sad2: So Now I can tell her that someday fat people may save the world

"Save the snacks, save the world" (okay, you have to be a Heroes fan to appreciate that probably and I think it was probably funnier in my head:rotfl: )

:rolleyes1 Next time your aunt starts her lecture just say this...."I know you want me to be less weight cause you care about me and my health and you love me. I would just rather you say You Love Me and leave it at that and I will worry about the weight part." That will surely cut her off. I sound good in theory but in reality I hate confrontation....:flower3:

Before I took a nap yesterday I had this big long whiney post about not having customs for when we go to Hershey Park. I wanted to do all candy and chocolate type fabric patches. However, Hershey fabric is really expensive and hard to find. I all but gave up but this morning I went on :wizard: to have me a little look-see around and got inspired by an outfit of pink and brown dots. So, $100 later I have ordered fabric online from a store in North Jersey to make three Carla C stripwork jumpers. Apparently my order was shipped an hour later  .Talk about service! Wow! I should have it by tomorrow! I will take a pic of the fabric before and after. In the mean time I am finishing up something else :yay: and continuing to be amazed by the wonderful talent and generosity of all of you!!!

I just bought a pair of jean capris at Disny Store. The ones I got have spandex in the denim so I like the way they fit. I would say they are true to size. I have tried on a few items there and have not liked a lot of the pants.

WOOHOOO....I can finally log back onto the board. I haven't been able to sign onto the board for a couple of days now but on the plus side I did get lots of sewing done. Anyway, someone asked where to get labels the other day. The place I get my printed labels is no longer taking new customers but these are both great places to order custom labels:

Wow, that's great service! I bet the jumpers will be beautiful and fun.

BTW - Most online fabric stores I buy from are pretty good about shipping within a day or two so I don't know why even bigger places, like Old Navy, can't be the same.

I used the one in the bookmarks. If you are truly a newbie...I would suggest not starting with a tiered twirl skirt. They are a lot of work. I think my next one will go a lot quicker but in general, it's a lot of work.

I have always found the Disney clothes to run big. I wear a 16 or a 14 though, so that may be why?

I haven't been able to catch up from the last few days, but I just wanted to share my excitement with you all!!

I'M GOING TO DISNEY IN FEBRUARY 2009!!!!!!!!!

My mom told me today that she would go with Tessa, Sawyer, and I. I had asked her a few weeks ago and it took her this long to decide. I'm footing most of the bill, so I thought it was a no-brainer! I guess hanging out with me and the kids isn't as fun as I thought! :rotfl:

This will probably be a 5 day trip, no 14 day marathon like our last one!

Okay, back into my dungeon to try and write my next TR installment. Teresa had hers done and I hadn't even started mine this morning.

HOORAY Heather
I am SO there! You can bet on it!!! I am so excited for you!

Tink, I am onmy way to your tr now!

I finally uploaded the pics while the kiddos were still sleeping. DD4 is up now...

Here is her Wall E dress.

This is the first bag I ever made. I thougt I did something wrong and ripped the entire lining out only to realize the only thing I did wrong was not leave a whole in the lining to pull the entire bag through. Now I know. It was a very easy McCalls' discontinued pattern I got from mom...

The dress and the bag, and your daughters are all so cute!!!!! I love it!!! I got my Wall-E fabric today (thanks Stacy!!!) so I can now make Lydia an outfit and then we can see the movie! :thumbsup2

Hey thanks for the offer! But I'm heading down to Buffalo later this week or early next week to stock up on fabric. DH won't be home for two weeks, so that gives me plenty of time to hide all the evidence! I have to call the Wal-Marts and ask who has the largest fabric department, so I'll ask about the Pooh Christmas fabric also!

I'm off to decorate a worms'n'dirt cake for DS - with gummi worms, frogs and spiders! With Oreo crumbs for dirt and candy pebbles . . . Will post pics before everyone dives in!

Stephanie

No problem, I saw it and thought I'd see if you still wanted some. Have fun fabric shopping!

I used a size 8 simply sweet. The child wears a size 10, but her actual body measurments fit the 8 with an inch to spare so I did that one. It bis elastic in the back so I think it will be fine.

I think mabye a sash is the way to go. I was hesitant with a halter back, but I think I will make one and just pin it on first to make sure it is ok.
Heather told me she used the size 8 too. If you didn't want to do a complete sash, you could just sew a strip of the material to the front of the dress, like a mock sash.

Heather got some, and she said they ran big.

WOO HOO!!! I knew she was going to say yes!!! She just likes to leave yo uin suspense!!!!
Although, Corey was more than willing to go with you! :thumbsup2

And, don't hurry too much on the TR, I havne't gotten the pictures added yet, that takes me FOREVER! They are uploaded though.

:thumbsup2
Arminda has the camera that has the "magic button" that puts the characters into the pictures, and we just got Lydia one that doesn't have the magic button. I haven't noticed that it uses batteries up very fast. We use rechargeables in both of them, and they last about the same as they do in my digital camera. I highly recommend the rechargeables if you don't have them already. :thumbsup2

So the 'magic' button is on the actual camera?

If so then maybe it is ok if we can't find the software! I am having Nikki read the direction now:thumbsup2 Mommy is not te direction reader in the family:rotfl: I breezed through it and didn't see the 'magic; button.
This is the one Nikki has.
http://disneyshopping.go.com/webapp...d=-1&categoryId=14682&catalogFromSearch=10007

I think i will get them both rechargeable batteries for the camera!

Arminda's is a Disney Pix Max, Lydia's is like the ones you bought, those don't have the magic button. Lydia was a little bummed about that at first, but since Arminda's is just plain silver and hers has Cars on it, she figured it was ok. :thumbsup2 The software is a CD that should have been in the box when you got it. I imainge if it's missing, you could contact the company and they'd send you another one. Rechargeables are definetely the way to go! :thumbsup2
