Thanks for the book links Minnie2 and for the hint about adding and inch to fit build-a-bears, we have a lot of those in the house that need dressing up on a regular basis.

Madeline is one of my favorites. I wish someone would pick up the manufacture of the toys again. Delaney would play with them constantly.

We love Paddington too. We've got a treasury of all the books but I'm waiting until our next trip to England to visit the inlaws to get her a bear, I want her to pick one out herself while we're in London. I did that when we went to London when I was a kid so I want her to have the same experience.

Camping Griswalds! I LOVE those pettis! Where did you order from and can you tell me what color/style you ordered for the purple with the multicolor ruffles? That would make an awesome witch costume or just plain old perfect for Halloween in general. The navy one looks great with the officer's jacket. I like the green with pink ruffles as well. Delaney would have more pettis but I don't know where she'd wear them all.

Tadamom, the $1 gingham is really a pain, I had used some last year and thought I remembered why I didn't want to work with it again but for the bear it was in a reasonable length so I didn't have to yell at it all that much.

Michelle, do you have a link? I'm starting to get confused over the 2 gives.

Sally, it was a thread posted in the design forum to see if any of the designers wanted to contribute. If you'd like me to post a link, just let me know

Super!!! I think a coordinator over there is exactly what we need. I agree w/ Shannon (who I thought I quoted-oops) about a "standard" package. Of course there will be details changed for personalization but a general guideline about what we want included. I am very excited about this.

AND I'm gonna need some tips myself b/c I am askeered to make autograph books and I have didn't even know people made passports and what kind of Diser would I be if my kids went to THE World w/out them???

LOL the autograph books really aren't that difficult. There are actually autograph pages posted in the design forum already. I know there are at least 2 people who design the actual pages. Then myself & at least one other person design the front covers. All you do is save what you want on a disk, take it to staples, kinkos or some place like that & they will print & bind it for you. Same as the passport. The whole passport can be found by clicking on my link:

http://home.comcast.net/~jessicas_mommy/disney/Epcot_Passport.doc

I didn't create the passport, I just personalized the front cover. If you need me to do personalize one for you, just let me know. The person that created it is no longer designing. You print it out just like a regular document. It will look a little weird, but it's ok. lol You then put each page on top of the other & staple or you can take it to staples or someplace and do the same as the autograph books. :) Easy peasy ;)

Just a side, if you haven't visited the design thread, you might want to. You'd be amazed at some of the things that are designed in there. lol

Wow, all the things posted today are great!!

So I had a fantastic mail day yesterday. Here are some pictures of my "puddles of fluffiness" ( just for you Teresa:))

OOOOH! I just can't resize these!!! Thanks for posting the pictuers! Your models cracky me up!!! I think Sponge Bob looks especially dapper! Puddle of flufines! YES YES it is!!! ::yes::

I'm so glad you liked them!

Here are the outfits that I made for my friends little boys.

th_PirateConnorMaxwell.jpg
Amy, I love the way you did the pants with the two different fabrics! They look great! The boys are going to love them!

1) Those shoes! We were in CVS yesterday getting yet another prescription filled for this sinus infection from heck that won't go away and we walked next door to Target and she found them on sale and had to have them. Actually, the first pair of sandals she found were high heeled flip flops and I said absolutely not! So these are the compromise: they are so gaudy they make me sick but she calls them her "fancy shoes."

2) Yes, this is for Lindsey who has leukemia. She is doing pretty well, she is on her last round of chemo before she starts the "maintenance treatment" which is supposed to be not as bad. Unfortunately, she got a blood clot in her brain and now she has to have injections of blood thinner each day while she is on the treatment (2 years). She is such a trooper though and told her mom she wanted to learn how to do the injections herself! So when she e-mailed me I just had to do it: I would have thought about her the entire trip if I hadn't..

1.)What, you didn't want her wearing high healed flip flops??? :confused3
2.)Oh, poor little Lindesy! Heather had to give herself the blood thinner shots for quite awhile (still does once in awhile). She says they are not real comfy! You are so wonderful to be doing this for her!

I am pretty sure Arminda sent an email to Jacob this morning, hopefully you can check it before you leave!

Well that may be true, but honey they are so easy to buy too!!!!! I now have 8, with some more on order...it's a sickness:)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: You are funny Maureen!

My son Logan is 5.He wears around a size 5 and tends to be on the tiny side. His favorite is the movie Cars.Lightning McQween is is favorite. He also likes Toy story .He loves all things fish and is looking forward to Sea World. Both kids are nuts about Finding Nemo.

I don't know if this helps but there is a much closer indoor waterpark in Frankenmuth Michigan. It is called the Bavarian Inn. If you have not been to Frankenmuth is a nice little town to visit and plenty to do for a weekend. Fudge factories, outlet malls!!!!!!!, horse draw carriages and bronners. Oh and my sweet tart eating bear!
Ohh I wanna go to Frankenmuth and that awesome Christmas store right NOW!!!!! I love that place!!!

SORRY! I did resize that pic. But it is still posting big.
Pluto looks PERFECT. I can't wait to see the whole outfit!!!! You are awesome!!!

Here are a few things I made for Abby for her birthday (the watermelon outfit girlie).....
This first one Im worried the top will be too small - I made Carla's aline in a size 5 but the short length, and it looks tiny!!!! cross your fingers for me!!!
100_0942.jpg

Here are some bows to go with her watermelon outfit, and then a shirred walmart princess dress I had already given her...
100_0943.jpg
Love all the new stuff Wendy!!!

Here are my finds:

Disney first - the red Mickey I got at Hancock, the purple Tink and friends is from Walmart and the Pooh and friends (they're catching fireflies - sooo cute!) is also from WalMart. No clue what to make out of any of it, but I NEEDED it!
fabric2.jpg
Oh my goodness, I LOVE that RED Mickey fabric...I so need to find some of that. I also love the new Winnie the Pooh. My DD is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited to see fireflys on our upcoming trip to Michigan....I need to find some of this now too. Hahahaha

So this is what we ended up with...

DSCN2864-1.jpg
Awww how cute!!!!!

Here's something I'm working on as I find time between other projects. It's taken longer than I liked to get to this point but now I just need to hem the bottom ruffle, add buttons and stitch the lining closed. Can you tell I'm still enjoying doing large scale appliqués? :lmao:

snow_white3.jpg

I also did these tees for fun to use up some I had on hand.

donald_peek1.jpg

goofy_peek1.jpg
Oh my goodness, I LOVE these!!! I especially love the t-shirts. Those are sooo cool!!!!

Well I have sort of finished Madi's outfit.I love the top and I think it will be nice and cool for Disney. I just think the shorts need somthing.
madsprince005.jpg

madsprince003.jpg

I also finished Tyler's Bart shorts for universal.
scraps005.jpg

scraps008.jpg
Awww those both turned out very cute and your children are both adorable!!

IMG_0589.jpg

IMG_0590.jpg

I decided she needed a colored pencil roll up; I thought it might be helpful for when she has to go to the clinic.

IMG_0591.jpg

Then I found a leg from Megan's jeans that fit the doll perfectly. They are stretchy so all I did was hem the top and add a ribbon. Then I found a piece I cut off from pjs I made for myself that were too long: a perfect tube to shir. The straps velcro in the back. This is her hippie outfit:

IMG_0593.jpg

And last I made a 4th of July outfit with scraps. I used CarlaC's pattern and the only problem I have is it is difficult to get on. I hope the little girl can get it off and on ok.

IMG_0594.jpg

So that's my version of the big give, a little give I guess. :rotfl2:

Now I just have to take the kids to camp, pack, run the doll clothes to the friend, take the dog to the vet, stop the mail and then we're ready to go! Whew!
WOW Steph...you did an amazing job on all the stuff for the little girl you guys know. You are such a sweetheart. She is gonna love it all. You are amazing though to be able to whip all that up in no time at all. :worship:

IDEA FOR THE BIG GIVE

I know I am a newbe here but last night I woke up ad had an idea for the big give. Maybe some one can start a thread on here with the whole Big Give idea and just like in the beginning of the sewing thread there are specifics. IE how to be a receiver and how it is verified and who decided who is worthy, who wants to make what etc. This way other creative type or even non creative types can contribute if they want. not just the sewing ladies and gent.

Maybe even have 2 threads one to wish for things and one for granting the wishes?

This would mean some one would have to monitor the thread and keep an eye on it at all times though.
Just some thoughts that came to me at 3am. :cool1:
I really like your idea Minnie2!! Did anyone else respond yet, I kinda had to skim a little here and there!!!!

Here are the outfits that I made for my friends little boys.

Arrrrrr matey....those are awesome!!!

Yes, this is for Lindsey who has leukemia. She is doing pretty well, she is on her last round of chemo before she starts the "maintenance treatment" which is supposed to be not as bad. Awww bless her little heart. What a little trouper Lindsey is. It breaks my heart to see children suffereing and in pain. You are such an angel to to all that for her Steph!!! :cloud9:

Hi my name is Julie and I am new to the board. I absolutely love the mickey mouse clubhouse panel twirl skirt. I have searched everywhere for the mickey mouse clubhouse panel and cannot find it. I would love to make my daughter a skirt for my son's mickey mouse clubhouse party. Any suggestions as to where I may find this? Thanks, Julie

I got mine at Walmart.

I love the petticoat! I can't imagine the work involved.

Was your daughter's dance recital at Mount Pleasant High School last weekend? I think she goes to the same dance school as my step-daughter Tessa. She is in the 11yo class. I'm still waiting for my pictures to come in to post.

Yes it was. She's been going to Miss Jane for 4 years now. She loves it there.

The petti is beautiful!!

Ok, so I spent all day, and I mean ALL DAY on a dress. But it was so short it turned into a shirt. ;) And it's a mess, lol. But I got to do things I haven't done before, like elastic, trim and pleats.

I can't find my cord that goes into my camera to put my pictures on my computer, grrrr.

All I know is that from now on, I will have a clear picture in mind of what I want to do BEFORE I start, and I will be following patterns from now on, and does anyone know of a good deal on a sewing machine?? :rotfl:

Renae

I've had plenty of things not turn out as I thought. Sometimes it's hard becuase you can't get the fabrics or supplies you need. I hate that!!

I use the Brother CS6000i and LOVE it!!

CIMG0719.jpg

SORRY! I did resize that pic. But it is still posting big.

Love your Pluto!! I wouldn't know how to resize a photo if you told me. If you notice, mine have white around them for some reason.

That is so cute and I love the multi colored hem. I bet that would be perfect with a Snow White themed set, too.
.

Oh, I never thought of that!! Thanks for the idea!

Here's something I'm working on as I find time between other projects. It's taken longer than I liked to get to this point but now I just need to hem the bottom ruffle, add buttons and stitch the lining closed. Can you tell I'm still enjoying doing large scale appliqués? :lmao:

Well I have sort of finished Madi's outfit.I love the top and I think it will be nice and cool for Disney. I just think the shorts need somthing.

I don't think we've thought of a wish list. That is a good idea.

Sally, it was a thread posted in the design forum to see if any of the designers wanted to contribute. If you'd like me to post a link, just let me know.

I found it Michelle. That is Give#1, Alicia. We also have a Give #2, Heather. I have your thread bookmarked. It's one of my favorites. You've done a few things for me in the past.

BTW, CINDEE!!!! I've been missing you and I am soo sorry that you aren't enjoying your new job. I hope it gets better and that we see you again soon!

...t.

I checked all the local Joann's here in AZ and nothing. Is this a recent or old item. Maybe I can try another state, what state are you in? I'll make some more calls tomorrow. Thanks for your help.
I'm in MA.

Those are both cute outfits! Love the Bart shorts!

Well, in between getting everything on my list done, I got an e-mail from one of the kids' friend who is sick asking if I would make her some American Girl doll clothes so basically I stopped everything so I get them done before we leave tomorrow.

I started with a circle skirt, which the math failed me (stupid pi) and will barely go over Megan's hips so they will not fit the friend. So I put that away and started on the doll clothes. I tried to copy Denise's guitar shirt and my strings are crooked but the kids could tell it was supposed to be a guitar so that's good. :thumbsup2

t-beri-yesterday I was looking at the Amy Butler website (www.amybutlerdesign.com) when you mentioned that you wanted to make one of her bags. I found some free patterns and tried this one out:
http://www.amybutlerdesign.com/pdfs/Business_Card_Keeper.pdf

I think its pretty cute but I'm going to make it again. I want to make the strip that holds the cards in a bit wider and I am going to make the outside out of one piece of fabric instead of piecing it together. It was pretty easy.

0627081557a.jpg

0627081557.jpg

OK! Maybe I lied. The waistband is not in the skirt yet. I got home much later than I anticipated, so it'll have to wait for tomorrow. But that's fine. But I thought I'd give you a sneak peak of the skirt that has given me such difficulty. This is the applique that finally did what I wanted it to do!

CIMG0719.jpg

SORRY! I did resize that pic. But it is still posting big.
That applique turned out really well! I love it!
Here are a few things I made for Abby for her birthday (the watermelon outfit girlie).....

Hannah Montana shorts and top (plus shorts for Bitty)

And the final one - yes, she is in love with speed racer!!! she is getting a helmet from her parents, so I thought this would be fun to match!!!
100_0946.jpg

Hoping she likes them!!!

Wendy
All of these are adorable! You have been busy.

Man, everyone's been so busy!!! Lots to catch up on! So, the kids have been sickly last week and early this week. Today was payday and I needed some retail therapy, so of course I went fabric shopping!

Here are my finds:

Disney first - the red Mickey I got at Hancock, the purple Tink and friends is from Walmart and the Pooh and friends (they're catching fireflies - sooo cute!) is also from WalMart. No clue what to make out of any of it, but I NEEDED it!
fabric2.jpg

Non-Disney - The polka dots and bright green floral are from a local quilt shop. Not a clue what to make with it. The monkey I got at JoAnn because Ella LOOOOOOVES monkeys and it reminded me of candice's too cute monkey shower curtain dress. So it will likely be a dress of some sort. The green paisley I just liked, again no clue what I'm going to do with it. The ivory floral was on clearance at Hancock and will likely make a dress to go with these pants I made, but am not sure I really like or not.
rufflepants.jpg

They were much cuter in my head! Don't you hate that!

Anyway, I should go catch up on all the posts I've missed!
Great Fabrics! I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Sally I love you petti! :worship:

Okay, so I've been hanging with a summer cold since last night, I've had chills and sweats off and on all night and I was trying to take it easy today...

Delaney asked me the beginning of the week to make her bear, Vegas, a new outfit for the Teddy Bear picnic they are having at camp tomorrow. I take her out, we pick fabric, I ask her if she wants me to make her something to match, she says no, she'll wear the bear shirt she already has, great one less thing to make right? You know where this is going, right?

I finish the bear's outfit and she says "Vegas wants me to match her." :::THUD::: :faint: Sure she does, perhaps we should have thought about that on Tuesday when we got the other fabric, no? :scratchin Oh wait, I did bring this up and you looked at me like I had 9 heads. :headache: Free preschooler anyone?! The water work start  and I finally agree to attempt to make her a matching top, I was using CarlaC's simply sweet.

So this is what we ended up with...

DSCN2864-1.jpg

Carla if you're out there reading I just want to say thanks for the great tips in your patterns, I will always use the turning of the straps tip from here on out, it's so much easier... :worship:
They are adorable together! So cute:cutie: Can you share the strap turning tips?
She is going to LOVE them!!! EVERYTHING is so cute!!!! I think the Aline will be fine. Here's a size 5 I made. My DD must be about 45" tall. My top does look a bit longer than yours but it comes about 5 to 6 inches below her waist and your's doesn't look that much shorter than mine.

This is adorable. I love the girl's cars outfits.

Wow everything is adorable. I have some of that fabric. I need to use it! I can't believe you made all that stuff while getting ready to go out of town. I hope Lindsey is on her way to recovery. It is really sweet of you to make her these things the gifts will keep her spirits up!
I love these! So cute! I have been thinking about making myself a bag for my WDW trip in November. I found a few in the book marks but the butterick one might have to be checked out!
The butterick pattern is easy to follow and it has about 6 different ideas on the front of the pattern.
So I had a fantastic mail day yesterday. Here are some pictures of my "puddles of fluffiness" ( just for you Teresa:))

Hi !

Yes, that was disney princess ribbon!!! My MIL got it for me 2 or 3 years ago at Hobby Lobby, along with Flounder ribbon, tink ribbon and pooh ribbon!!! I dont know if it exists out there anymore - I dont know why though, its sooooo cute!!!!

Wendy

Could we get an update on the MAW give? Like what is still needed. Do we have 7 sets covered for both kids? Don't forget about the parents. Applique minnie head tees would be great for mom, and a Mickey tee or a polo with a small Mickey head would be good for dad.

I finished the nemo storybook outfit i was working on:

I think It came out pretty good. I whish I had come up with an accent fabric in another color, but I just didn't find anything I loved.

An update about my friend: her counts are such that she is in maintenance so that is great news. Hopefully now she can have playdates and see other kids. She has not been able to be around kids since she was diagnosed in December. She sent me pictures of her dolls in the outfits and a really sweet thank you. It is just the most wonderful news that I would be teary if I was mushy like Heather and Teresa (ok, I am a little teary). I am just so happy for her.

Thanks to all who prayed for this brave little girl. I know it made a difference.

I think it looks great as it is. It would be pretty hard to chose an additional color. Navy or orange? But I think it's great!

Ooooh, this place looks so cute! The only negative to going here is that it's no where near a Hancocks! None of the US Fabric chains ship to Canada, and I NEED lobster fabric, and the cute palm tree fabric that I saw on this board, oh and Mickey fabric!!! DH and I have some deciding to do! Thanks so much for the info.:)

I think the Hancocks all closed in Michigan. But there is a 2 story Joann's about a hour away from Frankenmuth. :thumbsup2 I know I have seen Lobster fabric at Joanns.

And there was a Ben Franklin store near Frankenmuth. They always had unusual fabric LOL

There are tons of Fabric stores in The Saginaw area.

I live in Florida(now), but find the BEST Disney Fabrics at Walmart. I know Michigan has Walmarts. :)

I think It came out pretty good. I whish I had come up with an accent fabric in another color, but I just didn't find anything I loved.

I think it's darling!!! You did a great job! Everytime I see one on here, I keep thinking I should do a storybook outfit, then I always forget to look for them when I'm fabric shopping! I need to remember!
