I made my nephew a pair of the Bart shorts for his birthday, but now I am thinking I want a cargo pocket on the leg, I am looking for the tutorial on pockets I saw it a while back.

Could we get an update on the MAW give? Like what is still needed. Do we have 7 sets covered for both kids? Don't forget about the parents. Applique minnie head tees would be great for mom, and a Mickey tee or a polo with a small Mickey head would be good for dad.

I was actually just working on this.

MAW BIG GIVE UPDATE!

We currently have 7 outfits for each child
scrapbook supplies or pages are being supplied
shirts for the families have been donated
someone is working on getting a design/designs for the family shirts
passports are being made
the family is providing their own autograph books

ONE THING THAT I THINK WOULD BE NICE THAT HAS NOT BEEN PROVIDED - Crayon/colored pencil roll ups and maybe some coloring/activity pages
Would anyone like to take on that task?

I will be PMing everyone on the list by the end of this weekend to double verify and make sure that we're all on the same page. IF you think you have signed up and you haven't heard from me by Monday morning at the latest, please PM me again. I'm sorry if I've missed anyone - I've had a TON of PMs, and I'm trying to keep up.

I will also be working on beginning the organization for the next family. I will let everyone know when I've got things ready for the next round. I'm going to wait a few days before beginning the next round. I'm hoping not to cause confusion. I do think that I will begin a thread somewhere to try to keep up with everything. I'm not sure which board would be best to keep the thread? Community Board? I don't know.

Sorry to interupt this segment of the Disboutique but I wanted to give you Disney fans my review of Wall-E....let me just say...not my favorite. I wouldn't rush out to see it. DD enjoyed it but even she was bored for about the first hour (until his buddy Eve arrived). I think it was the lack of dialogue that bothered me. There really is no dialogue at all other than the bots saying "wall-e" and "eve" over and over. Yup pretty boring. It truly the first Disney movie that I said to my DH "we won't be buying that one" :worried: Oh well. Back to sewing!

I bought the YCMT bowling shirt pattern today! I was planning on making a Nemo bowling shirt for Logan and matching shorts. I bought some pink Mickey fabric also and was wondering if I could make a bowling shirt for Hannah too? The e-book only goes up to size 7/8 and she is a size 10. But, the bowling shirts are supposed to be roomy. I wonder if I could get away with a 7/8 for her? What does everyone think?

I posted before (mini tutoral) on cargo pants

I finished the nemo storybook outfit i was working on:

I think It came out pretty good. I whish I had come up with an accent fabric in another color, but I just didn't find anything I loved.

I love the way it turned out! The storybook and the fabric go together perfectly!

Oh dear, how disappointing. Our newspaper reviewed and gave it an "A"
Has anyone else seen it yet? We are busy getting ready for DS's 4th birthday party tomorrow. We might go see it Sunday Afternoon.

We went to see it this morning. I really liked it. By the time we got to the end of the movie, I got to thinking that just might be the way of our world. We had a good time, and never thought about the lack of dialog.

Kirsta is pretty much a 10, and most of the cute patterns are an 8. I just sew at 1/4 seam instead of the 5/8. I have a McCalls here, it says the bust of an 8 is 27 and a 10 is 281/2. Waist in an inch difference and the hips are 2. Could you maybe make a little vent at the hip for a girl?

It could almost fit in Community, Family or Disability. Could a Mod make a suggestion?

I think I'm almost ready for the next round.

We just saw it also, popcorn:: and we all loved it! The message was hard hitting, and had the kids engaged in quite a dialogue on the drive home. DH and I thought the humour was great, and the animation was outstanding. I think this one is a hit. DS asked me when we can buy it on DVD. We thought it was a movie with a message, :hippie: that the kids actually understood. Just my 2 cents!

I'm happy to hear some positive reviews of the movie. I can't wait to see it. Jenna and I are going to see it tomorrow after the kiddos leave and after I do some work at work. She is excited to wear her new Wall-E dress.

I checked all the local Joann's here in AZ and nothing. Is this a recent or old item. Maybe I can try another state, what state are you in? I'll make some more calls tomorrow. Thanks for your help.

Let me know if you dont have any luck. I know my local Joannes has some and I have a couple 40% oof coupons

My MIL was in town today from Alabama so she took us to JoAnn's. She is all the time picking up fabric at Wal-Mart that she thinks is cute and giving it to me (my kids Great Grandmother does this as well) but she decided today that she wasn't going to buy the kids clothes anymore at stores, she is just going to let them pick out fabric (with our help) and buy it for me to make them clothes. I realized today that I haven't bought any clothes this summer other than t-shirts used for appliques, everthing has been made.

Anyways, here is what the kids picked out.

Michael is going to get shorts made with the two dog fabrics and co-ordinating solid colors. They both will get a 4th of July outfit (better get started on those asap!) and then the bottom 3 fabrics are for Parker and myself. I think I'm going to make her a stripwork jumper with them and then make myself a skirt to match. Parker and my MIL both wanted me to make them mother/daughter matching outfits. Lets hope I don't look too fruity with the fruits all over my rump.

Wierd double posting...

Tadamom, I think lots of funny things have been going on today, I couldn't get the boards up at all this morning.

Anybody else having trouble with this thread today? Stuff is just all out of order for me. I am finding that things that I have already looked at are falling behind what I just posted. And I noticed that (for me) the Nemo dress that was posted isn't even showing up as an original post but I am seeing it quoted from others.

Other stuff that just happened that is weird. When I do my posts, it is giving me an error that it could not be submitted. So I copy my post, exit out & return to the thread only to find that my post is there.

One more strange thing....the post that is showing up under mine right now from wildirishrose says that it was posted at 9:36 pm, according to the Dis clock at the bottom of the page, it is not even 9:36 yet.

Is this happening to anyone else or is my computer on the fritz? I am so computer dumb but this seems strange to me.

I got our tickets for Wall-e last Friday, we're really looking forward to going, Delaney is already in love with Wall-e.

I know a lot of people didn't like Ratatouille but I have to say that's one of my favorites, for a long time I had wanted to be a chef and I have to say that just about every chef I ever worked for was in that movie, I couldn't stop laughing and calling the chefs by the names of the ones I had worked with and for.

I never expected to like Cars but I have to say there isn't a bad picture among all the Pixar ones.

One of my favorite lines is from Toy Story when Potatohead goes up to Pig and says "Look I'm Picasso!" And pig says, "I don't get it." "Uncultured Swine..."
