Okay..I just had to share...today was the saddest day for me. This morning my mother was at the house, when she left, she was only gone for like 2 minutes and came back in the house. She said..guess what I ran over...My heart dropped. At first I thought it was the little stray cat, that I feed outside, then she said it was the turtle. This turtle has been meandering around on the property for some time. I've only seen him infrequently. Now if you live in Florida, you know what I'm talking about. These turtles are huge! he was about 18 inches across. Well when I went outside to see him, my heart just broke. He was in VERY bad shape. I will save you the gory details, but lets just say, all that was inside was now outside his shell. And to make matters worse, he was still alive and trying to walk around. Thankfully he wasn't in the full sun, he was in the shade, and I covered him up with a little towel, and left his head sticking out. I thought for sure he would die right away, because he was bleeding very heavily. But he lived for 5 hours. I called animal control, and just before they came the poor thing finally died. I had to dig a hole and bury him. The girls named him Franklin. I didn't let them see the gory stuff, just his little face. So we now have a little Franklin grave in our yard. It was just sooo sad, I'm crying as I sit here...
Okay...sad stuff over...Miss Ireland went to her very first waterpark (that she remembers...we went to Wet N Wild a few times but she was very young) and I guess the sunblock I put on her this morning wore off...cause this is what she looked like when she came home...
th_IrelandandLexieChristmas20072407.jpg

She didn't have a stitch of sun before she went, and her legs, face, and arms are just fried!! Her face is the worst. On her arm, there is a wide white band where her wrist band was. She thinks its funny...I don't. I gave her a cool shower and put aloe on her..Now she's shivering under the covers on the couch..At least her cold is better. I know I shouldn't have let her go, but she felt better this morning...Now little Lexie is the one blowing her nose, and coughing...Oh welll....RIP Franklin..:(

Poor Ireland! Try giving her some ibuprofen for the sunburn. Since it is a NSAID it will cut down on her pain and swelling from the sunburn. Hope you all feel better soon, I don't ever like being sick but in the summer it seems even more miserable!

I was induced for all 3 of mine. I was 4-5 cm for all three a 6 weeks before my due date. All 3 were born 12 days early. My 3rd was 9 pounds that early and I'm afraid to know what he could have been! My mom's 4th was almost 11pounds a few days late! I don;t know how you will be induced, but all my doc had to do was break my water and labor was VERY quick (about 2 hours start to finish). Sure beat the pitocin I got the first time!

That sounds like my track record! I was 4 cm at 36 weeks with #2 and at 37 with #1 and both times I had to be induced. Every hospital that I have been to has started the pitocin drip first and eventually the doctor comes in and breaks my water (which I happen to think is the most disgusting sensation EVER!). The last time with Claire I think they turned the pitocin off after 5 minutes because my contractions were too fast. From the start of the IV to the last push I think it only was about 2 hours with Claire. Hopefully I'll be that lucky again!

Here are my finished outfits for the girls. I tried to get some cute pics but Katie has way too much attitude today.

Wow, those are cute outfits! What pattern did you use for the shorts? I have a few outfit ideas floating around in my head but I don't have a pattern for shorts. I was thinking of just shortening some of the pants patterns that I have from YCMT and adding a ruffle.

Ok, so if you really want to have the baby, my aunt who is an ob nurse told me when I was pregnant a way that was pretty much a guarantee way to break your water. And I'm not even sure how to word this.....----->butt....<----let's just say that if you are feeling like you just can't poo sometimes you may have to resort to doing this! If you get my drift......And since I had a C section I had to do this the morning before my surgery...some pre- C section thing and lets just say that 45 mins after I did this procedure...The race was on to get the hospital because my water broke and my contractions were intense....And I think I was only about 2 cm dilated when I had my appt a day or 2 before....So if you are really wanting to have that baby and your husband wants to be Mario Andretti, its just a suggestion!

And I'm sorry but I just had to tell you...and I tried in the most delicate way possible!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :confused3 :lmao: :thumbsup2

You were very delicate! But I'm just not that desperate yet! Really it doesn't bother me to be induced, I kind of like it being nice and scheduled. I just like to have made some progress on my own since it lessens the chance of having to have a c-section and it shortens the time until the baby arrives! I would prefer to have the delivery done by noon or earlier (I told you I was a little bit of a control freak, right?) so we can rest and recover the rest of the day. I think my DH will just have to be Mario at about 6:00 on the date of the induction!

Although he did have a coworker whose wife went into labor and they got stuck in rush hour on the highway about 3 miles from the exit to the hospital and she ended up delivering in the backseat of the car. Even better, it was a company car and it got passed to another sales guy and everybody knew what had happened! Now that is my nightmare!

Hi Everyone,

Well, I have the shirts and shorts finished for the Big Give family - I'll send them out this weekend!! JHAM made me a bow to go with the outfit for Isabelle - but I cant find the pic!!! It was really cute and colorful!!

Oh those are fantastic! Love the tie dye! I've never tried that and it sure does turn out cute!

I got DD's Wall-e dress done and i think the shirring came out retty good:

Cute dress! Love the fabric! I am excited to see the movie! She will look so cute at the theater wearing that dress! Get ready for all of the compliments!

   I went to the doctor today and I am dilated to a 4, 50% effaced! Yeah!

Of course I'll still have to be induced like the first two, but at least I'm making some progress before I get to the hospital!

July 2nd unless I end up going into labor before then :rotfl2: and I'm not counting on it. And to be honest, I am a little bit of a control freak (my DH is laughing about the little part of this statement!) and I like getting to the hospital early in the morning, having everything planned, and getting the show on the road. Induction works for me. But my DH really wants to race to the hospital so I feel bad that I am depriving him of this experience! He said he is going to do it anyway on the day of the induction, silly boy! So if there is an accident on 7/2 in Dallas involving a fool and his pregnant wife, it's us!

Oh, and the doctor thought the baby was around 7 1/2 pounds today and would be between 8 and 8 1/2 if I made it to the induction date (which is a week earlier than my due date). Thank God I won't be having another 9 pounder like my first one!

You sound just like me....I was induced for all 4. The first labor was long and drawn out. But the other three were cool. Nice even contractions...then transition (not so fun...uggggg), then pop...out they came with a few pushes. I am praying for you and really excited to see your new little one!!!

I have been intimidated by shirring, but DH is gone..maybe I'll make that my project while he's out!

I'm so mad! :headache: I just lost a huge quote and I even took the time to th_ all the photos, which y'all know I'm usually too lazy to do! So here's my revised version:

DesigningMouse-- I love the outfits and your girls are beautiful! And you make pettiskirts? :worship:

Linnette--your DS looks so handsome and you look gorgeous in your dress

sahm1000--
Of course I'll still have to be induced like the first two, but at least I'm making some progress before I get to the hospital![/QUOTE]

Elisa--so sorry about Ireland's sunburn and poor Franklin. And I though I was traumatized by finding a drowned mouse yesterday (not in my house at least).

Tykatmadismomma--love the new outfits and the poses with attitude--and the ones without :rotfl:

princessmom29--LOVE the Wall-e dress! I made my neice hers today. I'll get a photo up eventually. DH is trying to kick me off the computer with the USB cable hooked up.

Wendy--The t-shirts and shorts turned out great! I love them! I hope the bow and bracelet match okay! And I love the tie dye too!

Okay, gotta go clean. The kids invited some friends over for a Camp Rock premiere party tonight :rotfl:

OH--I have a big walmart fabric find story to share, but I have to get photos to go along with it!

but I wanted to share my son's graduation pictures with you all....

What a handsome young man! That dress looks awesome on you and you are beautiful! I'm not brave enough to make myself something with a pattern. I am in awe that you can make something that beautiful and that fits perfect without a pattern. I couldn't even make a crayon rollup to hold all 24 crayons.:worship:

   I went to the doctor today and I am dilated to a 4, 50% effaced! Yeah!

Of course I'll still have to be induced like the first two, but at least I'm making some progress before I get to the hospital!
:wizard: I was induced with all 3 of mine. The first 2 after my water broke but the 3rd one was a scheduled induction. I asked for the epidural at the first twing of pain and it was the easiest delivery. She was born at 2:02 with just 3 pushes.:wizard:

Okay. I have been lurking for about three weeks now and I have just about made through all the prior posts. I love the outfits!!!! I even pulled out my sewing machine to get some customs ready for our upcoming Sept. (free dining) trip. My goal is to complete an outfit (x 3 for my DD7, DD2, DD8m) each week. I have a three completed so far. Right now I am working on a 4th of July/Epcot outfit patchwork twirl with blue and minnie dot red. (inspired by an earlier post. I hope to get photos some time this weekend so I can post. I sometimes have to force myself to stop reading your posts and start sewing.
My inspiration file is rather thick at this point. Now I want to contribute some ideas.
Can't wait to see photos!

Okay..I just had to share...
Sorry about Franklin. Your poor Mom too! Hope Ireland's sunburn goes away fast!

That is SO cool!!!!! You did a great job on the shirring! Wish I could find Wall*E fabric around here. I might have to buy some online.

This first one was a practice. I pieced together a commercial pattern and followed another from TJ's bookmarks to put the pocket and hood on.

TMNT shorts (no, they are not PJ's because the ones I made him last June are now too small. That was my official start to sewing (except for home ec class and the occasional Halloween costume butcher jobs I did)

I scored this fabric this week. My daughter wants to make hair scrunchies or pillowcases out of them for her Bday sleepover. Thanks to all who gave me great ideas. I might go back to get another yard and make the main part of the pillowcases with a cheaper matching fabric and the end of it with HM fabric. There won't be more than 8 girls, so that is feasible on our budget!http://

okay i still havent started dd 2 dress ( my 1st real project) but i did use some wide ribbon and sewed ruffles onto jean shorts and a shirt and made an iron on to go on it. thanks for the hint about prewashing the fabric , it is washed and ironed and the pieces from ycmt are all layed out, just need to be brave i guess and jump in with two feet. if i get this done i promised ds5 he could be next and he is finally tall enough for tower of terror and wants an outfit along these lines. i was thinking of the easy shorts pattern on ycmt but have no clue what kind of fabric would be appropriate for a tower of terror theme, if you have any ideas please help. i figure i can also ask on creative disigns maybe somebody has an idea for an iron on . thanks again for all the inspiration and help. btw i will try to post dd pics in her ruffles tomorrow.

OOOHH!!! Your Big Give outfit is almost done!!! That means you will be doing the white petti outfit soon!!!

:lmao: YES, that is my plan!!! Hahahaha....you have a great memory, don't ya Teresa?? lol

I have not been doing much sewing lately, but I finally got a chance to the past 2 days. Here is what I have been working on. No particular reason, just thought they were cute.

Hi all! I've been gone for a while dealing with real life. I decided to take a break from all of that to post one of the few things I've done over the last couple of months since I've posted.

new002.jpg

Drew wore this in some pictures that my nephew did of the girls in their dance stuff. Hopefully I'll get some of those soon so I can post a picture of her wearing it.

I've done a couple of other things that I haven't gotten pictures of yet. I haven't gotten to work on as much as I would like to, but I am hoping to get back to work soon.

We did Hello Kitty jammy shorts for dd10's - 7th birthday. At the party the girls painted tank tops to match with watered down fabric paint in squirt bottles. I threw them in the dryer to set the paint and then washed and dried them and they were ready for them to sleep in!

It was a lot of fun. That was 3 years ago and I know that most of the girls still sleep in them.

Unfortunately Riley is still not doing well. She and I did get to go to NYC for a week to see my niece who just moved there. The timing ended up being "perfect" because the day before we left she was in the Urgent care form about 5 am to 1 and then went home and vomitted (from the pain meds they gave her) till about 9 p.m. We risked it and went anyway the next morning bright and early and with only 1 day of not feeling great ended up having a great time!

We are going in for some more testing on Monday and then we have decided to look into a new doc. We are going to have to travel though because we have seen every urologist in the KC area. We are actually thinking Mayo clinic at this point. We are getting pretty desperate. Her surgeon actually told me a couple of weeks ago that it might be in our heads and maybe when the antibiotics work it's just a placebo effect. I guess I have a very talented you lady on my hands! Apparently she FAKED a positive kidney infection the week before last!!!!:furious:

Just so anyone who remembers who I am knows I didn't fall off of the face of the earth! Riley and I just got back from a very fun and much needed vacation to NYC with my niece to see her sister who moved from KS to the big apple!

She was actually really having a tough day and was so sick she didn't even eat her food. Luckily she didn't miss much. AG meals are pretty much the grossest $25 plates of food that money can buy! She got to buy Ruthie and see the whole new Kit collection and I think she was still a pretty happy little camper.

All of us at the Statue of Liberty!

I bought that same pink HM fabric today also. I plan on using for a project that I started about 3 weeks ago for Jenna.
