Okay..I just had to share...today was the saddest day for me. This morning my mother was at the house, when she left, she was only gone for like 2 minutes and came back in the house. She said..guess what I ran over...My heart dropped. At first I thought it was the little stray cat, that I feed outside, then she said it was the turtle. This turtle has been meandering around on the property for some time. I've only seen him infrequently. Now if you live in Florida, you know what I'm talking about. These turtles are huge! he was about 18 inches across. Well when I went outside to see him, my heart just broke. He was in VERY bad shape. I will save you the gory details, but lets just say, all that was inside was now outside his shell. And to make matters worse, he was still alive and trying to walk around. Thankfully he wasn't in the full sun, he was in the shade, and I covered him up with a little towel, and left his head sticking out. I thought for sure he would die right away, because he was bleeding very heavily. But he lived for 5 hours. I called animal control, and just before they came the poor thing finally died. I had to dig a hole and bury him. The girls named him Franklin. I didn't let them see the gory stuff, just his little face. So we now have a little Franklin grave in our yard. It was just sooo sad, I'm crying as I sit here...
Okay...sad stuff over...Miss Ireland went to her very first waterpark (that she remembers...we went to Wet N Wild a few times but she was very young) and I guess the sunblock I put on her this morning wore off...cause this is what she looked like when she came home...

She didn't have a stitch of sun before she went, and her legs, face, and arms are just fried!! Her face is the worst. On her arm, there is a wide white band where her wrist band was. She thinks its funny...I don't. I gave her a cool shower and put aloe on her..Now she's shivering under the covers on the couch..At least her cold is better. I know I shouldn't have let her go, but she felt better this morning...Now little Lexie is the one blowing her nose, and coughing...Oh welll....RIP Franklin..![]()
Poor Ireland! Try giving her some ibuprofen for the sunburn. Since it is a NSAID it will cut down on her pain and swelling from the sunburn. Hope you all feel better soon, I don't ever like being sick but in the summer it seems even more miserable!
I was induced for all 3 of mine. I was 4-5 cm for all three a 6 weeks before my due date. All 3 were born 12 days early. My 3rd was 9 pounds that early and I'm afraid to know what he could have been! My mom's 4th was almost 11pounds a few days late! I don;t know how you will be induced, but all my doc had to do was break my water and labor was VERY quick (about 2 hours start to finish). Sure beat the pitocin I got the first time!
That sounds like my track record! I was 4 cm at 36 weeks with #2 and at 37 with #1 and both times I had to be induced. Every hospital that I have been to has started the pitocin drip first and eventually the doctor comes in and breaks my water (which I happen to think is the most disgusting sensation EVER!). The last time with Claire I think they turned the pitocin off after 5 minutes because my contractions were too fast. From the start of the IV to the last push I think it only was about 2 hours with Claire. Hopefully I'll be that lucky again!
Here are my finished outfits for the girls. I tried to get some cute pics but Katie has way too much attitude today.

Wow, those are cute outfits! What pattern did you use for the shorts? I have a few outfit ideas floating around in my head but I don't have a pattern for shorts. I was thinking of just shortening some of the pants patterns that I have from YCMT and adding a ruffle.
Ok, so if you really want to have the baby, my aunt who is an ob nurse told me when I was pregnant a way that was pretty much a guarantee way to break your water. And I'm not even sure how to word this.....----->butt....<----let's just say that if you are feeling like you just can't poo sometimes you may have to resort to doing this! If you get my drift......And since I had a C section I had to do this the morning before my surgery...some pre- C section thing and lets just say that 45 mins after I did this procedure...The race was on to get the hospital because my water broke and my contractions were intense....And I think I was only about 2 cm dilated when I had my appt a day or 2 before....So if you are really wanting to have that baby and your husband wants to be Mario Andretti, its just a suggestion!
And I'm sorry but I just had to tell you...and I tried in the most delicate way possible!!!!![]()

You were very delicate! But I'm just not that desperate yet! Really it doesn't bother me to be induced, I kind of like it being nice and scheduled. I just like to have made some progress on my own since it lessens the chance of having to have a c-section and it shortens the time until the baby arrives! I would prefer to have the delivery done by noon or earlier (I told you I was a little bit of a control freak, right?) so we can rest and recover the rest of the day. I think my DH will just have to be Mario at about 6:00 on the date of the induction!
Although he did have a coworker whose wife went into labor and they got stuck in rush hour on the highway about 3 miles from the exit to the hospital and she ended up delivering in the backseat of the car. Even better, it was a company car and it got passed to another sales guy and everybody knew what had happened! Now that is my nightmare!
