I've been having to skip a lot lately and I've missed you ladies!!!

Today is Sawyer's 2nd birthday!! I know it's been said a million times before, but I can't believe how fast the time goes!! In honor of his birthday, I'm going to post some baby photos:

Here he is in-utero. Yes, that's his foot on his head:

All right, that's enough. I think I'm going to cry. ;)

Oh my gosh...SOOOO adorable!!! Okay, where's Luke's puppy? ;) :lmao:

WOW!!!! These are FABulous!!!!! Great job!!!!!

WOW!!! YOU are good!!

You even sew for yourself? :worship:

Yep, you could use ribbon instead, in most cases. I don't know about a substitute for bias tape. If it's at the hem at the bottom of a skirt or something, you could just do a regular hem and not use the bias tape.

Happy birthday Sawyer! What a cutie! I think I had the same bouncey seat. The pattern looks like the one I had for my son I think it waas the kick and play:)

The bias tape is for the arm hole. It is a sleeveless dress I am making.

I might not even use ribbon the material is a denim butterfly embroidered patter. It is so cute on its own I might just leave it like it is.

What a wonderful day that was!!!!! He has been such a gift!

Ok, now, I'm really crying...
Scalloped hems aren't so bad as long as you mark carefully so that they stay even :) This was my first attempt:

2542109984_8f474f3915.jpg

It's a 2 layer skirt and I used some white cotton against the right side of the blue fabric and marked my semi-circles then stitched them, trimmed the excess fabric and then turned and pressed :) I also did top-stitching but it's not necessary. HTH!

So cute! Maybe if I keep telling myself i'm not feeling broody then i'll eventually be convinced..! :bitelip: :lovestruc
:bday: Sawyer! It is also my sister's birthday today, she's 19 (how did that happen?! *lol*)

That is sooo cute!!! I love that fabric!!!!

Has anyone seen either of these fabrics in any stores?

Where (besides :wizard: ) can I find them. I think they are beautiful and I would love to get some.

!

Love the newborn Sawyer pictures! How adorable was he!!!::yes::

CarlaC's Scallopini skirt pattern is very similar to this. The scallops are smaller, but I think it would turn out very cute!

There is also a tutorial for making a scalloped skirt in the bookmarks, if you want to try to do it yourself.

Check out Heather's applique tutorial in the bookmarks, it's the best one around, and it free! :thumbsup2

Thanks so much...only where are the bookmarks?:confused3

Thank you so much everybody for your help! I am going to look for the CarlaC and the other one that was mentioned. (can't think of the name) Thanks again:)

only 42 pages in, and I finally caught up to the new thread to subscribe. lol. I have done a lot, but I need to load the pics to show you all! I have been a really busy lady with cakes these last few weeks, so I have been more in lurk mode than anything!
I love all the new stuff esp. the Bowling shirts! I have to say I'm a little jealous though that you all got to be testers! (pick me! pick me!)
:bday: to Sawyer!

Thanks so much...only where are the bookmarks?:confused3
In the first thread, there are some bold letters that say "Please read for valuable information" it will explain most everything there, including where the bookmarks are. Or, you can just click the link in my siggy. :thumbsup2

The bags are all packed sitting in the garage waiting for him to come home so we throw them in and take off!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Now I feel I gained new friends and a new love for sewing again. I will miss seeing all of the new outfits next week and know that when I get back there will be another thread:lmao: ..but we will be having our trip of a lifetime!   I wish I had had time to post all the outfits but I ran out of time! I will have tons of pics when we get back and can't wait to share!:surfweb:

almost time to hit the road....:drive:

what kind of sewing machine would you recommend for a newbie?
Is the Singer Inspiration 4206 any good? Would it do teh nice thick satin type stitching?

Thanks so much everybody for the birthday wishes for my baby boy. He is actually feeling pretty crummy today. He's got a cough, diarrhea, and a little bit of a fever. I showed him all the smileys for him and he loved it!

Yep, it's the kick 'n play! Good eye!

I don't know if there's another solution for bias tape around an arm hole, if the pattern calls for it. Sorry I'm not more help!

I've only been sniffly today, then I saw your post and you actually brought tears to my eyes. That is one of my all-time favorite pictures, of Corey holding Sawyer.

Does everyone here know that Teresa cut the cord when I had Sawyer?! She did!!!

Thanks so much...only where are the bookmarks?:confused3
They're in the very first post in this thread, in my siggy, and in Teresa's siggy. Here's the direct link to my applique tutorial, if you want to check it out:

We can't wait to hear all about your trip! Have a great time!! We're glad you found us, too.

I don't know about the Singer, but I have a Brother CS6000 and I LOVE it!! I think it would be great for a newbie.

Went to the doctor today and I am very dissapointed, there is very little action going on down there! I was dilated to 1 cm (who cares, that is barely anything!) and 25% effaced. With my second (Claire) at this point I was already 4 cm and 100% effaced (of course I still had to be induced at 39 weeks) so I was a little surprised. Hopefully next week I'll have made more progress!

First I would like to say

Happy Birthday Sawyer!!!!!:bday: :bday: party: party:

Teresa: I really hate taking pictures of myself but I will honor your request
here is me this morning (hate how the humidity gets to my hair!!!!!:scared1: )

wore the shirt to take the kids to school it was funny to me that I got a lot of compliments ( I am mostly in tshirts and sweat pants maybe that is why:rotfl: ) because is very easy and cheap to make (1 yard - paid 2.00 )

This is my Jonathan wearing the shorts I made for him to school (10 more days to go:faint: )

Got blisters in my hand (right ) from all the cutting I did , is there a brand of scissors that are made to avoid blisters ,I paid 18.00 for my scissors to me they are not cheap but they are heavy and hard to use
