I forgot to add my Nemos! I made a button down shirt for DS... this is a close-up of the fish buttons he made me use... I will NOT be buying anymore buttons with shanks. I really did not enjoy sewing them on! :headache:

And I made my DD a round neck top with the same fabric, but I couldn't get her to model it and didn't get a pic before it was in the laundry (and I'm not pulling it out to iron it before its washed! ) It looks just like this one I made for me though... I have been wanting to do a top like this for me, but couldn't find a pattern, so I made my own and basically used the directions for DD's round neck pattern (YCMT). Mine doesn't have buttons at the shoulders though. When I make this with "real" fabric for me (I have some Michael Miller Ginger Blossom I want to use), I will do a couple of things differently so hopefully it won't look quite so muu-muu in the front...

I apologize it isn't quite in focus... my photographer is 6!

) anyhoo, Izzy can totally smell her mama and is using the bear as a pillow.

Aww, so cute!!

Thank you! People always think she is my daughter. :goodvibes Also, thanks for finding the pink Mickey fabric for me! You are so awesome!!! :cool1:

I can see why they think that! You two are too cute!!!

Thank You! This is such a great thread and everyone is so friendly...Theresajoy how do you find time to respond to everyone?!?:goodvibes ...can I get an off the topic of sewing opinion? How are the MNSSHP's? We love the P&P but they aren't having that next time we go...I know the MNSSHP is more popular so I'm scared it will be way more crowded...I think change is just hard for me:) Thanks!!!

Well, my husband would tell you because, I'm on the computer all day!! But, I hadn't logged in since yesterday morning! So, he's WRONG! :snooty:

made myself 3 tops and a pair of capri pants for my august trip

I made the top and capri as a set ,the fabric is kind of thin so I made the pants wider to have a skirt like fit

These look so pretty!!! But, whey aren't you modeling them for us?

I finally got some pictures uploaded to photobucket, so I have some things to share!

DS(6) is in Alice in Wonderland this weekend, so I made two outfits for DD (4) to wear when we go see it...

Alice costume:
Alice.jpg

I'd like to put a white rabbit applique on the apron, but I am really not happy with the test stitch out... We'll see...

Queen of hearts dress (she won't be wearing a top underneath):
queendress-1.jpg
queendressback.jpg

queencu.jpg
queendresscu.jpg

I plan to add two more rows of elastic to the back tonight - I'm hoping it will help it fit a little better. It also turned out a smidge longer than I was hoping for, but its okay...

I love all these outfits!!!! I really want to make an Alice dress for Lydia. I think she would be adorable!
Here's my boy's answer for the "big face" shirt! DS really likes it! It is a western style shirt...

Great job and I love the one you made for yourself!

So I posted before we are taking a trip to WDW in Sept...one of the days we are doing lunch with JoJo, Goliath, and the Little Einsteins. I found a resell on eBay, unfortunately I can't afford to buy that so I am going to attempt to make it myself. It is a tanktop with JoJo appliqued on and a skirt with the big top and Goliath. It is an absolutely adorable outfit. But since I am a self-taught I don't exactly know how to do a certain part of it. Am I allowed to post a picture of it for help purposes? I don't know who the original artist is to ask for permission because it was listed as a resell. I would even bet that the artist is a member of this family. I bought most of the fabric for the skirt today, I have everything I need to do the JoJo applique I am just so intimidated to get started because of this. :scared1: I am also wondering about doing maybe a pair of shorts or capris, my daughter insists on wearing shorts under her dresses and skirts. Tell me what you think:confused3

The one I saw is very cute! (sort of a scalloped double layer skirt, with matching jewerlry?)

What part do you have questions about?

DSC00494.jpg

It is my first character applique, so i need some feedback. You can see the white through the stitching a little bit, but I am not sure it bothers me enough to scrap it. What do ya'll think?

Hey I think you did a fabulous job on that. DO NOT SCRAP it!! If the white bothers you how about taking a black fabric marker to it. Noone will be the wiser....(hey this is coming from someone who started with some stuff called..."Sewing in a Tube"....LOL..you should see the Halloween costume from that one)!!! Hahahah

We brought our baby home today! :lovestruc She's not used to grass and she loves rolling around on the lawn.

Lily won't be able to do this much longer! :lmao:
IMG_0722.jpg

so far she is SOOOOOO good! I'm knocking on all the wood I can find, I know puppies aren't easy, but she is an angel so far. She gets tired and goes and sleeps in her crate. She has so far only "pottied" when we've had her outside. She is breaking my heart though. We bought her a little doggy teddy bear and I took it when we picked her up and rubbed it on her mommy's fur to get her scent, and Izzy (her name is Sunny Isabella but we call her Izzy, except Lily who calls her Belle--it's a princess thing I think, she can say Izzy just fine) anyhoo, Izzy can totally smell her mama and is using the bear as a pillow.
OMgoodness, Izzy, aka Belle is absolutely. positively adorable!! Look at Lilly hold him. How cute are they!!!!

Great shirts! I found a round neck pattern for adults. I think it is simplicity. I am making a mickey shirt for me...one day! Great job!

I love all your beautiful fabric. And the patterns are so cool! I was laughing at the drawings of the women on the pattern front. How practical are those "18-inch waists????? :confused3 :rotfl: Do those women have intestines???
:rotfl2: I know what you mean! I always have to make the waists on 'retro' dress patterns a tad larger as mine isn't very defined.

Here's my boy's answer for the "big face" shirt! DS really likes it! It is a western style shirt...

Aww what a cute puppy, I love the pic of Lily carrying her :cutie:

   I am sooo happy to say that my little Rylie is allll better! She has been her happy go lucky little self for the past 2 days and I am LOVING it! I was really worried about her, so I am just sooo relieved that she is better! Thank you to EVERYONE who sent prayers and good thoughts our way! I know I have missed sooo many cute things:( but I just can't keep up with you guys!!!!!:moped: I was wondering if anyone has tried the new flouncy dress pattern from ycmt? It looks sooo cute!!! I, of course, do not know why I am looking at this site? We are sooo on a tight budget right know that it is not even funny! They have drastically cut my dh hours at work and he told me today that his company might be selling out!:scared1:  I don't know what that would mean as far as my dh even having a job or not, which is pretty scary!:faint: Any way, sorry for the vent, but I am just praying that everything works out and I can eventually get back to normal! I want that pattern and also want Carla's patchwork skirt pattern! those two will be first on my list when I get off restriction!:rotfl: :rotfl2:
So happy to hear Rylie is feeling better and I hope things turn out well with your DH's job :wizard:

I am new to sewing and am having trouble with my machine...as I sew the bottom thread gets bunched up and a lot comes out:confused3 I knew someone here would be able to help me out!! Ok also if this is imp. my machine isn't great it's a Shark euro prox...here is my last creation though....(now I'm making a pirate corset)

It's great b/c it will fit all 3 girls (from 2-5 y.o.)!!!!
That is soo cute, I love the cherry fabric :)

Are there lots of different shirred fabrics like this? I've never seen them here.

My Walmart had 3 different ones...this Tink, a pink princess one and the Little Mermaid that princesskayla used as a top a few pages back. There is also a purple Minnie one that a few people used but I have not seen. Tnkrbelle565 showed it 2-3 pages back as a dress. HTH!

OMg what a cute puppy! I am such a sucker for dogs! I am so glad she is being a good girl. Our little boy now 10 was like that he was a dream dog still is. then we got little miss Princess Daisy Mae!:rotfl2: She will be 2 in a few weeks and we like to cal her Devil dog! :lmao: i adore her though. Well not right now she had me up at 4 am to take her poty so my old man had to go too. then at 5 am she whined until I got up and feed her then 6 am my dd woke me up for breakfast! Calgone take me away!:confused3

I have a question for you experienced ladies. When a pattern calls for 'rick rack' can I use ribbon?

Also with bias tape is there any other option to use?

If you go to DisBoutique thread 5...toward the end I showed a dress with a teal tink preshirred fabric too. If anyone wants me to pick some up for them...let me know. My JoAnns has tons of preshirred fabric...including tink, minnie, and princess.

Super cute!! I love your outfits (actually all of them that you have posted are great!) for you. I have not even thought of mking something for me. I am to busy finding fun things for my DD and DS.

I do want to make on outfit for me for my Disney trip in Sept. I am going to CRT for my birthday dinner, and I want to make a cute Cindy themed outfit for me. I want it to be subtle Cindy!! Does that make sense? Any ideas?

That's what she looks like when she's sick? She's a beautiful girl (with such a pretty smile) and I love the little shirred dresses, they look so comfortable.

Yup, that's her sick! Thank you...She loves them too. I like them because it takes less than 5 minutes to make and they will hopefully be nice and cool for Disney in Sept.

Another great dress! Poor baby I hope she feels better soon.

Thank You!

That is so pretty! I hope your daughter feels better soon!
Thank you

Thanks for all the well-wishes everyone...she is all better and back to driving me crazy :rotfl:

Thank you everyone for helping with my cries for help! This board is just full of awesome people. I can't respond to any of the messages yet it said I didn't have enough posts. But the scalloped part is where I thought I was going to have a problem but to think it is a two layer skirt that scares me:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I thought it was just sewn as one layer. I guess now I just feel like I don't know where to begin. It is the one with the matching jewelry.
