Package Payment Policies - Online vs Calling

A friend was asking me about deposits and payments when making "package" reservations online vs calling CRO directly. I have only booked a room only online once, and for other trips have called CRO, and I have never made payments online, so I didn't have an answer. I used the search function for the board but just managed to get myself confused . Couldn't find an answer.

So what is the final word on the policies for both ways of booking. Whether you book a package online or by phone can you make your payments online???

You can make payments online whether you book by phone or online. Last time we went I booked by phone, and I made all but the original deposit online. This time I booked online and have made all payments online as well. Both were packages with dining and tix.
