Package Delivery To Room

The search function seems to be down, so sorry if this has been covered a 1000+ times.

So how does the package delivery work? At WDW, you fill out the form and you pick it up the next day at your hotel's gift shop. If I understood the web site correctly though, it sounds like they actually take any packages to your room. We'll be staying at the RPR for 4 nights.

Is there a "cut off" for same day delivery or does everything just always get delivered to your room the next day?

Yes, very similar to Disney. You fill out a little form saying what hotel to take it to.

I've always stayed at HRH, and I've found the "delivery" to vary. Sometimes it's delivered to my room; sometimes I get a call from concierge that it's available to pick up. I've never picked it up at the gift store.

I would strongly advise against having anything delivered the day before you leave no matter what a store clerk might tell you! To be clear, let's say you're checking out of the hotel on a Saturday. Don't shop on Friday and ask for it to be delivered.

Another wonderful, easy, easy (easier than any WDW park) option is to pick up your stuff on the way out of the park. The hotels are sooooo close to the parks, it's not a big deal at all. This is a wonderful option for the day before you leave.

I don't personally have experience with buying things at CityWalk and having them delivered to the room. Maybe others do. I know that O'Bryans wouldn't deliver our plethura of hurricane glasses to our room, lol. Had to carry those around

When you fill out the form for delivery, they will ask you when you're checking out and will warn you that hotel delivery isn't guaranteed if you're leaving the next day so you'd better take with or pick up on your way out of the park. When we stayed at RPH, the packages were always put in our rooms. That's odd that you say you picked up packages at the gift shop at WDW. All the times we've stayed there, but the most recent was 2 years ago, the packages were always delivered straight to the room. Maybe they've changed their practice.

as for disney, to my knowledge it depends on which level of hotel you are staying at. at the moderates i have always had to pick them up but the deluxes i stayed at left them on the bed. unlike universal, all of my packages have been left in my room. i love it.
