Pack Shorts for February??

OK ... help me out guys! I am trying to pack since we are leaving in 5 DAYS!!!

I have no idea what to pack... long / short pants and shirts? I am thinking only short sleeve shirts since I will pack a little sweatjacket for each of us... but shorts??????

We usually go in October... only shorts! So, I don't know if it will be too cold!

I would pack shorts. We've been to FL the past 3 from any time from MLK weekend, to President's Week. We've been able to wear shorts all 3 years. Of course, coming from the NE, throwing a pair of shorts on when it's 60 degrees makes some of the native Floridians look at us funny.

We would usually start the day in shorts, tshirt and hoodies. By the afternoon, the sweatshirts were off. By the evening the hoodies were back on, and sometimes we needed long pants.

If you have any of those cool zip off pants (convert to shorts) that's what I pack most of for DS.

We just got back Sat and we wore shorts while we were there. Layers was good but most days shorts and t-shirt were fine. I took sweat shirts for my DS (he has no body fat) But we didn't wear the sweatshirts we took.

I would take a heavier something but not a lot.

Does that make sense?

We've went to Disney the last 2 February's and we've worn shorts and tees most days, but put on capris or jeans or even just a sweat shirt with our shorts at night. After the sun goes down it gets cool fast. But definitely count on packing shorts for the days. Enjoy!

We also leave within the week and I have packed most short and 1 pair of long pants in addition to the pair they will be on the plane with unless my boys decide to wear their bathing on the plane. Then it will be 2 pair in the luggage. When we land I let them go right into the pool. We dont land until 11:30 pm so we will be late getting in.
We will be down for 17 days so I think we have a chance to hit a cold front hope not. We are looking forward to a break from the NE blahs. Seeing nice green and sunshine for that long should do the trick.

Thanks for the replies... I guess 68 and sunny is enough for shorts... considering it's been in the 20's and 30's here in NY!!!

I will do the pants that zip off to shorts for DS and light capris for DD! And hoodies for the gang!

Hi,

Just a heads-up...it appears you are heading down this weekend. It's going to be chilly this weekend, meaning mornings will be in the 30s or low 40s. It will probably warm up into the 50s and 60s during the day, but if you are going to be out late at night or early in the morning you'll probably want gloves and other cold weather gear.

YAY SO glad I found this post! We leave Sunday and I'm starting to pack tomorrow... NY is FREEZING so 60-70 sounds perfect right now!
