P&PP May 9th? Check in! 30 So Far!

My sister and I (my nephew and niece) will all have a costume which are being done as we speak by my mother. They are absolutely gorgeous and we will all be pirates. I am really excited about this, it will our first PPP. Hope to meet with someone on that night, that would be so cool.

Yes, we will be there... all in Pirates... I'm the sister that WDWFRV was talking about... I'll have some lime green Mickeys so look for us...
By the way Sis, you have to go get me some more Lime Green Mickey at Home Depot ha! ha!:lmao:

Yes I will do that sis, hey anyone joining us for the Pirates and Princess party, we could have supper together :cool1:

this is what my son will look like that night... yes an other Jack ha!

We'll be there, just got off the phone with WDW and bought my tickets!

Put us down for May 9th, too please! me, DH and DD6. :goodvibes

We're keeping the PPP as a surprise for DD. ;) I'll be packing her pirate outfit and a couple of princess dresses for our cruise anyway, so she won't be suspicious if she sees them being packed. princess:

I want to dress up, but DH can't decide yet. However, I'll be bringing pirate costumes for both of us and if DH decides against dressing up, I'll just wear a pirate tee and DD's pirate princess tiara. pirate:

Loving seeing the pictures of the pirates and princesses!

For anyone who's been before, can you tell us your tips?

We went to the Mickey's Christmas Party years ago and what we learned quickly from that was -- skip the rides, you can do them anytime and don't both waiting in line for your free photo (not sure if they do that anymore or not) but enjoy the special parades and shows that you normally cannot do.

I guess I need to do some research on what shows and "extra" stuff they have.:goodvibes

Welcome to the Dis. The Mother's day brunch is held on Mother's day only at the World Showcase pavilion. The decorations are beautiful and the food is to die for! It is a bit pricey. $50 for adults and $20 for kids. But its a wonderful experience. If you decide to do it GO HUNGRY!!! :) Make sure you make reservations for it. I'm pretty sure it books up.
Thank you so much! I called today and got the P&PP tix and a brunch reservation. And now I can't use the great deal I found on our airfare as an excuse to spend more on anything else, hehe. Thanks for the tip on the kids clubs as well... "mommy alone time" is priceless!

Get to the park as early as you can. I think they start letting you in to the MK at 4pm on party tickets. But Main Street and some of the lands get quite crowded with people leaving the MK and people coming in for the party. Now I can say that the P&PP in August last year was no near where as crowded as the Halloween parties I have attended but there was still a bit of congestion going up Main Street and trying to move to the back of the park.

Make your ADR's for any Table Service at a monorail resort, the Wilderness Lodge or any TS in the park NOW!!! On party nigths these tend to book up fast. My son and I are doing the Tea at the Grand Floridian at 3:40pm and then heading to the park. Then eating some counter service either on the go or while we are waiting/watching the parade or fireworks. Or in Cosmic Ray's while he dances at the dance party. Its funny. He will go up dance quite a bit come back take a bite and so on!

Get your rest before the party so you can stay till the bitter end!!! It's a lot of fun at 11:30 running from ride to ride in with little or no wait time. The P&PP in August at the end of the night they let us stay in the Monsters Inc Laugh Floor since it wasn't crowded. I think we did it 4 times in a row. Son LOVES it!

The treat stops are fun but pretty much all the same candy mixture. One stop might be only beads, another stop only candy and some both. Unless you desirer lots of candy I'd do a few stops and do other stuff.

If they have it again this year, make time for the pirate games area. This is a nice stop for the boys who won't near anything princessey!!!!! (like my son :) ) My son loved the games. There were a few games and they gave you candy each time you did it. Games were like ring a hook, shoot a pirate ship (air zooka guns), bean bag toss in the treasure chest and the dunking booth. The dunking booth was a lot of fun. The young man (yes I'm old now I actually call 18 20 ish boys young men LOL) who was the pirate in the booth (ball house balls not water) was very animated and fun. He taunted the people throwing in nice way.

The picture is no longer free. (one of my major gripes) Now they have a few stations where you can get a picture taken and you will get 50% off the regular cost. I'm not sure if this is for any picture taken in the park or only the special stations set up for the party.

Ok thats about all I can think of now. I hope it helps. If I think of any more tips I'll add them

Take Care
Jamie

YEAH! Thanks catsrule! Will ya'll be eating somewhere that night?

We will just be eating counter service. We will just be getting down there that day and we both work second shift and have a very early flight so we need to take nap before heading over.
:yay:

Thanks for the tips Jamie.

Y'all might think we are crazy but we are bringing our nearly 3 yo with us...either she'll fall asleep in the stroller or have a blast. The next day will be a down day for us all day!

When it comes to Disney trips, its always been a good thing that my son is not one to drop or get mean when hes tired. He's like me he can go go go. Then he can sleep late late late! :)

I've heard that they aren't giving out candy this year, just the "booty!" (Jewels and necklaces) So, you may not want to get your kids all excited about candy, in case there isn't any.

We are bringing our girlie who will be 2 1/2. I think she will be fine though...either fall asleep in the stroller or be mezmerised by the excitement.

Are any of you adults going to wear costumes? I like the pirate shirt/tiarra idea!

If I can find something that wont take up too much room in my case (international weight restrictions make it difficult to bring home all my disney shopping :rolleyes1 ) then yep, we're gonna dress up!

I'll have some lime green Mickeys so look for us...

Would someone be nice enough to post a clear picture of the LGMH with a rough guide to sizes please? We don't have the home depot store in the UK so I can't get them :-( Gonna try to make some.

Btw, do we have to book ADRs for that night? We're already sorted our ADRs for the two weeks we're there and we're not doing one every night. Figured we'd just get fast food, snacks, etc the other nights. But, is this gonna be difficult at P&PP?

Well, can I mail you some? PM me.

No, you can eat at a couple of different places, but if you want ADR's you need to book NOW! :)

Thank you for all your tips... is there any photopass photographer that night in the park? I want to get a photopass and put as many pics on it as I can... I like their pictures.
