P&P Party tickets

this is to be a positive thread where we can chat about it until we hear the definitive word from Disney
I can be positive. I'm positive they aren't happening! ;)

those who could care less.
Actually, I care quite a bit, as my trip is 2/21-2/28, and the Party would have been on my last night. I've already been to one in '08, and was considering going in '09 depending on what the AP discount price was.

The CM today told me that her guess is the tickets won't go on sale until after Thanksgiving. She said chances are not until early December. I will give it a rest and start back on Friday.

She got a real big laugh when I told her about this thread.

But as said before she said the dates are in their system on the computer they just aren't able to sell the tickets yet. SO I still think the parties will be happening. Lets all sit back relax, enjoy Thanksgiving, and be thankful that soon we will WILL GET OUR TICKETS! ;)

Susan, thank you for checking again today. :)

I am thinking not until after Jan 1, but hey, maybe you are onto something. :)

Thanks for the update :) I also wonder if it will be after Xmas when we hear (and therefore after the deadline for booking the 4/3 deal has passed... )

Just curious... where do people think they are going to find an announcement that says "We are sorry to announce that we are not currently planning to have MP&PPs in 2009"?

Not trying to be negative, just curious what sources you guys use.:confused3 What do you trust?

I will wait for WDW's official website to have such a comment or if/when I get a reply from WDW guest services telling me that the parties are not going ahead next year.

I don't feel that I can take third party websites or forums as gospel.

Were the parties listed on the website at one time? Or officially announced somewhere? Did tickets go on sale? If yes, then they have an obligation to announce as soon as possible that they are cancelled (if they are).

I wish I had better news.... I was over at the Mickey's Mom's Panel Website and one of the Panel Members was asked about the P&PP, she replied:

"We have been told that the Pirate and Princess Parties that had previously been scheduled for the first half of 2009 have now been canceled. If you have already purchased tickets to this event, you should call Disney at 407-W-DISNEY to inquire about refunds."

That is copied and pasted direct from their website. I guess that makes it official.:sad2: (I posted this yesterday in the January thread)

So the Mom's Panel (http://disneyworldforum.disney.go.com/home.aspx --- a Disney-owned and -operated site) does not count?

Actually Brian I would agree that the Moms Panel site is not an official source. We are an independent site that sits on the WDW site (we are all contractors, not CMs). In general the Moms Panel site typically uses the same public sources of info that everyone else has access to.

However, in the case of the MP&PP the Moms Panel participants were given information from Disney that specifically stated that the parties are no longer planned for 2009 (similarly I believe we were the first source for the 2008 MVMCP dates, as Disney gave us that info in advance of everyone else).

Oh, and yes, the Moms Panel has made some mistakes in the past. So do other forums, allears.net, Disney, and the New York Times. It's pretty hard to be 100% correct all of the time, especially with a product that is constantly changing, and is sometimes inconsistent! Unfortunately, in my opinion, there really is no such thing as a perfect source. It's up to each of us to decide who to believe/trust.:goodvibes

I guess I'm just trying to help manage expectations. Hope you all don't mind. :grouphug:

I'm waiting for an official announcement on the Princess Half Marathon website to say it is cancelled since that is where I bought my tickets. As of now, the website is unavailable and has been since yesterday.

When I called today I was told by a CM that P&PP would begin in April.
I am not considering on ANY information as being very reliable; I will wait until Disney makes an official announcement.

Right off the bat Disney never released the dates, and never had tickets for sale unless you were in the marathon, and that was part of the deal they had, so they can't reneg on those...info given on the website should be taken with a grain of salt like everything else about the parties at this point.

PRINCESS HALF MARATHON...

It is still listed for the participants on the Disneysports.com site. It's under Travel Details, More Magic... same verbiage as I posted yesterday.

Robnkris...I think you may be ok. As this part of the event, I really can't see them canceling this one...

I guess only time will tell...

No - as I have said previously, last year the Mom's Panel were definately giving out mis-information.
If that's your standard, who's left? We know the CRO Cast Members often are wrong, and the web site is often out of date, as well. How long was Wonders of Life "Seasonal" before it finally got taken off?

thank you so much for calling every day, I bought pirate costumes for myself and my DH in September in hopes of attending this party. I really don't want to have to return them, but if ther is no word by Monday, I will bite the bullet and get my money back.
