P.O.T.C. On Stranger Rides! The Missing Chapter,,Final Thoughts,, Preview Thoughts.

I love the "Journey" of a trip to Disney. It's an adventure where the excitement builds until finally culminating in a giant crescendo of lights and a cacaphony of sound when you pass under the Disney Welcome banners and see the purple signs, finally. Plus:
I like having the car there, and all the food we bring with, not to mention the cooler and the pop and beer and liquor.
Also, I really, really, hate having to sit around an airport at their mercy waiting for the flight, which as we all know is only going to end in a fiery death anyway.

Nebo, hindsight and all, which method of transportation would you have chosen for this trip, knowing the challenges that were involved? I mean the "on the edge of your seat" factor resulting in hypertension for you and Smidgy as it happened and later for your readers as we read it might be lost if you took the plane. But on the plus side for us, we might have been greatly entertained by your interactions with the TSA. I just can't imagine you making it through the check in unscathed!

Do do do, do do do, do do do. "You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension: a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into... the TR Zone."

I like it Thumper Man! :thumbsup2 The vibe in the TR today does have a twilight zone feel to it, merry mayhem indeed! The only thing that might be missing is for someone to spontaneously begin writing in pig latin! :rotfl:

OMG, that so describes this TR.

Hey, you asked for it :P

Well, Steve did... By the way, awesome skillz with photoshop or whatever program you used.

I suppose I should use google and translate what you wrote? :lmao:

I'm home from work today ~ not feeling well. Naturally, I've used this time to get caught up here! :thumbsup2

Ponzi ~ great graphic of our fantastic duo in the Santa Fe!

Marita ~ about the ads... they do that on facebook too. I remember awhile back a group of us on a chat thread used to play "change the ads" by talking about random bizarre stuff to see if "it" could come up with an ad to match the theme. Wow... wish I had that kind of time on my hands now!

And Steve, "ocassional tables" made me laugh... it's the little things like that that always make me giggle and since no one mentioned it I thought I would.

Nuts, nuts, you're all nuts, I'm the only sane person on this thread.
Shawn, great job on the "Nebo", I know it couldhave come out a lot worse, for me.

Hence Nebo's term for airplanes.. the aluminum tube of death!!! :rotfl:
I'm a bit surprised you didn't use that one. That's how we'll be going in December again.. Great thing for us, there are direct flights from here to Orlando, so only sitting around for one flight and no connections.. which makes it more bearable.

Shoot, Virginia's so close as it is you can just about walk there. Are you staying at SSR again?

Thanks Bebop! I liked my answer better than Thumpers. Except for the fiery death part, because when I fly, I try to be in total denial about that kind of thing.

When I fly that plane had better be fueled by denial, I wan't denial just dripping off of it!

[

Thank you for that info! However, the military discount is 30% on value resorts and goes up from there.:thumbsup2 I'd really like to stay at Pop, if I can get a room. We stayed at SOG last May, and it was nice, just not really Disneyish. I think the kids would really enjoy Pop. Fingers crossed!

SOG is the one place we have never seen at all, but I've hears it's not very "Disneyish". Hope your trip works out for you at Pop, we like the 50's section the best.

NIce one! well put. I think for tonight's chaptet I'll start it with, "Do not try to adjust your monitor, I will control the vertical and sharpness,"

Buzz, of course I would have chosen to fly had we known ahead of time, no doubt about it. As for your other point, it has actually been Smidgy that has given the TSA the most trouble, fighting with clerks about directions, arguing with the TSA about Magical Express, trying to sneak lighters through security,,, etc.

Oh no, you didn't really just say that out loud, did you?

Thank you Nicole. :flower3:
Hope you feel better.

I know this will sound ridiculous but it's just killing me not to have a trip planned, and I get envious reading other's tickers.

Ponzi, it looks like you have only stayed at two of all the resorts, Riverside and Music, is that true? So where are you hopeing to stay this next trip? How exciting to try different resorts!, I really hate that we have now pretty much stayed at all the ones we want to, we will stay at GF in a heartbeat when they build the DVC there, but I can't see us ever paying for the Poly, and SSR and OKW seem too much like condo communities, maybe I'm wrong.

We do have the Animation Resort to look forward to, but with only one section with standard rooms that's gotta be a killer to book.

Ok, gottag get to work on tonight's chapter, you get ot meet the Splash Monster.

Actually the only reason I posted is so you could be envious of my ticker :rolleyes1

I feel pretty lucky to live so close to WDW (2 hr drive), I don't think I would do so well dealing with planes or long rides.

I don't know what that golden cat is, but this: http://www.google.com/imgres?q=gargoyle&um=1&hl=en&biw=1024&bih=604&tbm=isch&tbnid=AxgqbWjosW_x8M:&imgrefurl=https://www.halloweenunlimited.com/product_detail.cfm/product_id/788&docid=y9bx5J4YHl27dM&w=1500&h=1500&ei=z9-NTpyzMaHw0gGI7bFR&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=497&vpy=155&dur=1438&hovh=225&hovw=225&tx=117&ty=134&page=1&tbnh=105&tbnw=103&start=0&ndsp=21&ved=1t:429,r:4,s:0 is a gargoyle.

Just de-lurking (or, as we lurkers like to call it: leaving the nerd table to actually speak to the cool kids) to say Nebo, a perfect (stop it) stranger came into my head the other day as I nearly got killed on the highway driving home from work. Seems an extremely large green grasshopper decided to jump bail or leave his nagging wife & kids, and stowed away in my car, only to show himself as I was merging from one major highway onto another one, crawling s-l-o-w-l-y into my field of vision on the windshield, stopping right at eye level, about 12" in front of me. I defy ANYONE to focus on the highway ahead of them with a 3" long grasshopper flexing his leg muscles not 12" in front of their eyes. Now, I'm not afraid of bugs, but this thing was HUGE and I was afraid that he'd jump into my face as I tried to navigate my way around several 18-wheelers. Which he did. What were my two thoughts? My loving family? My life flashing before my eyes? Not knowing who won The Amazing Race? No. They were (in order) :

1. You know, they did a pretty good job on Jiminy Cricket. His torso looks exactly like that.

and,

2. This is something that would happen to Nebo.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

:lmao: Isn't it amazing how calm you can be in that kind of situation? I suppose it could have been worse, you could have been driving through the pouring rain at the same time, but then you wouldn't have had your window down...

question for you all:

Since I've now had more time, I'm writing more and my chapters are a lot longer than they used to be, so, I'm asking, are they getting too lone? Should I break them up more to make for a quicker read?
Inquiring minds want to know.

I don't subscribe to the Inquirer, sorry. I subscribe only to Nebo's TR's. Some of the best reading on the www.

Not too long for me. Gives me something to read at work, err, umm I mean at home. :rolleyes1

However much you feel like writing is good for me. I enjoy a good book while I'm at work...:cool1:

The longer the better. Hey, that's what she said!
Did I just say that on the DIS?

Why would your co-worker call you Oben?
