I'm glad there are still coupons, but their values have continued to go down and some are just a complete joke:

Tide/Downy/Bounce Save $.25/1

Really? A whole quarter? :rotfl2:

And the men's coupon suck...used to be $2 off one bodywash/deodorant, now it's $1 off two. And used to be $4 off Fusion razor, now it's $3 off Fusion razor when you also buy 4 pack cartridges.

Might be due to the Extreme Couponer backlash, but either way I hope they can find a way to increase the values which stopping the Extreme Couponers.

I agree! I thought I might have been going crazy because I remember using PG coupons ALL THE TIME and feel like those are the ones I use the least now because the deals just aren't good anymore. I'm not really brand loyal, so I just use coupons from other inserts. It's too bad, but luckily there are still plenty of deals to be had with SS and RP inserts!

Agh, I completely agree with you!

I remember a long time ago, Tide coupons could be up to $1.00 off. Now it's .25 and that's just ridiculous.

i agree, OP. honestly....a whole $ .25 off a tube of toothpaste? be still my heart :rotfl: just 3-4 months ago, it was $1.00! absurd! they're not even worth taking the time to clip anymore.

I Occasionally use Tide coupons for $2.00 or $3.00 off. I haven't seen a 25 cent one yet...but it sounds like I will no longer see the high value coupons! Crest is P&G isn't it? In the Sunday paper they would have coupons for $1+ off of Crest Pro-Health or 3D White toothpaste and Crest is all we buy. I had to switch to Walmart brand floss because the Crest floss coupons weren't as readily available as they used to be. And, even with a coupon, Walmart brands are still less expensive in most cases. There are very few items I will only buy brand names of, toothpaste is one. :) And Tide laundry detergent. I thought it was just me that thought coupon values had gone way down in recent months, but I guess we all have noticed!

Its also an "end of the recession" thing. Consumers are spending more. They are moving back to brand names without needing high value coupons.

In the meantime, the "extreme couponers" thing is more than just the extreme couponers. The awareness has made for more "ordinary couponers" who redeem more coupons. That cuts into the manufacturers profits. They say "we have $250,000 for this promotion, we expect 250,000 people to redeem the coupon, that means the coupon value can be $1" but when 500,000 people redeem the coupon, the promotion just went over budget and negatively impacted profit. So next time the coupon is worth $.50. (Its more complicated than that, there are profit projections, and retention projections in play as well, and when you offer a higher value coupon, you'll get a higher redemption rate, but that's the basic math - 20 years ago I worked for Pillsbury and had a lot of exposure to "how to decide to run coupons."

This is not unusual for this time of year.
P&G coupons have been historically low in the spring. They also vary in value by location. I have never seen the .25 off Tide-it used to always be .50 but everything lately has been $1.

The total number of coupons overall right now are low, also not unusual for late April/early May.
