Owners with multiple contracts (use years)

Is it easy to use points from 2 different use year contracts on the same reservation or do you have to transfer the points from one to another? I would rather not transfer due to the one transfer per year rule.

Also I recall reading a year or two ago about a loop-hole that occurred when points were transferred into another account and then took on the use year/priority status (11 month vs 7 months window for booking) of the account transferred into rather than the account the points were actually from. Does this still happen?

Yes, you can use points from different contracts for a reservation. You would not be able to use points from different contracts for a single night without a transfer, but as long as you reserve individual nights from a single contract, MS will link everthing together so you will not need to move.

"point morphing" hasn't been mentioned in quite a while. the issue was apparently that the software didn't keep track of this information and MS had trouble keeping up manually with the correct home resort of transferred pts. supposedly, they updated the software last year...even there are still issues, i'd not count on them losing track of the points' resort status if you are transferring pts from you to you...

Do remember if you transfer points to the other account, that is your transfer for the year. Only one per year now! Also, if you bank points they can't be transferred. Example, I banked 150 points into my first acct. I needed some of those points to finish a reservation in my seconc acct. I can't use the banked points to do this. It even get more troublesome if you have 2 use years. It can be confusing!

We have one small contract with a different use year. I use my once a year transfer for both the master contract and this contract to move points to or from this one. Or I will make a few nights with the smaller contract and then bank the rest to get a few more for next year.

It is much easier with one use year.
