I am looking at a house in Windsor Hills and the owner says that you get VIP passes and parking for free. I wrote to get a little more information and they asked me to call them and they would explain it. They said that it is a free VIP passes which get your party to the front of the line for many rides no wait , you also get free VIP parking pass to all Disney parks where you get to park in the front lot.

Does anything know anything about this? It sounds really fishy to me.

:) That does sound odd....I will wait for their response with you. :scratchin

ok - here is the response I got:

VIP pass is just like the fastpass but has no time on it and the pass is good for up to 8 people to the front of the line , i have them for all different rides at all the parks , the vip parking gets you to the front parking lot at all the disney parks you still have to pay for parking but you get to park in the front lot

The parking pass sounds like a AAA diamond parking pass. But I cannot figure out what this other pass would be. I looked at their reviews and nobody mentions having this pass, but there are mentions of the parking pass. What pass would be ride specific?

I take that back - there are some mentions about the pass. But I can't get an idea of what they are.

Are they GAC cards, do you think?

:) The only time I have ever seen a VIP pass was during Year of Million Dreams when some guy dropped his and I handed it back to him. I have seen some weird "fast pass" type of ticket things but it has been several years. I know of course that Disney does VIP tours and stuff but have never hear any mention of VIP ride passes. I would ask Cheshire Figment or see if he has anything to say about them on his "Everything you ever wanted to know about tickets" sticky. It is located on the strategies board at the top.

( I would insert a popcorn eating smilie here but could not find it :flower3:)

:scratchin

Obviously WDW hosts celebrities and VIPs from all over the world and those folks get special treatment.

My cousin is an elected official in that category, but we've never been to WDW with them so I'm not sure how it works. Seems to me they said they had WDW escorts who took their party (guests, security detail, etc) to the front of the lines, but I'm not sure.

I have also seen WDW guests go literally to the front of the line without an escort (not fast pass) -- and it wasn't because of disability. But I don't know what they had.

If they want to explain on the phone instead of in writing, it's because it's fishy.

found it

on another board site for the very, very expensive Golden Oaks.

so guess the homeowners pay Disney (or at least 4 seasons) for this thing.

yes it does what has been documented - that say be sure you can see something before you agree

This house that is offering it is in Windsor Hills, not Golden Oakes.

VIP parking is not inconceivable. The tour operator or resort can prepay for this and then put vouchers in their guest packages. The only "special" parking lots at the "front" are the AAA diamond lots and the handicapped lot.

All day front of the line passes do exist at Disney but I don't know of any instances when they were used other than by Make A Wish and similar charities.

Occasionally a fastpass for a ride that went out of service has been replaced with a fastpass for something else and it does not look like a fastpass that came out of a machine. In addition it does make sense for a guest who ran into some time consuming problem within the Disney complex (for example resort registration or room issues) to be allowed to skip some ride lines to make up for that.

The tour guide whom you hire for $600. or so just escorts you into rides.

We were in line for Thunder Mountain last summer and a girl asked us if we wanted to hop into the FP line with her as she had a pass good for 8 people and they only had 5 going. We did and I noticed she had a yellow piece of paper that she showed the CM. The CM did not collect the pass from her. Not sure what it was but it was our best ride of the day as the fireworks were going off while we were riding! I thanked her immensely but didn't feel comfortable asking what the pass was.

We had a complaint once and Disney offered us 4 sets of FP's. I had to go the Guest Services each time I wanted to use one and had to tell them which ride it would be for - it was only good for the day I requested it.

It surprises me that a homeowner could purchase an all-day front of the line pass from Disney but you never know!

I can't see Disney selling something like this to an offsite, private homeowner who is competing with directly with Disney for the guests vacation accomodation dollars. If Disney ever did offer something like this, I would expect that it would be something only an onsite guest could purchase.

I'm looking into a townhome at Windsor Hills that offers these passes (maybe the same one?) and I was wondering if you ever found out more or maybe stayed there? The house is nice and the same price as others so this would just be a really nice extra :)

TIA!

I chose a different place because I just could not figure out what exactly these were and it just sounded way to fishy to me.

For the parking pass, it looks like they are using a diamond pass based on what the reviews say. I thought the only way to get these was to book with AAA? I know they can be bought off Ebay, but that seems really shady.

The VIP pass - no idea what it is and never got a real answer. The only thing that I can think that it might be is the GAC pass and I am NOT cool with using something like that just to get ahead in line.

So we passed on the home because I did not think either pass was legit or moral and if the owner is getting these things and passing them off as something they are not, I want nothing to do with it. I prefer to do business with morally sound people.

If you do choose this place, I would ask for an actual picture of the VIP pass to see exactly what it is. Maybe post it here?

Thank you for your quick reply! I emailed him to ask for a photo of the pass and might call him for more info. If I do, I will post here.

He sent me a photo of the passes but I can't figure out how to post it here. I looks like 7 passes and just has a photo of thunder mountain rr, Mickey Mouse, Kali River Rapids, Star Wars and Primeval Whirl, a dinosaur and I think space mountain. It must be just for those rides.
If anyone knows how to post it on here, let me know and I will.

We probably won't go on any of those rides so I think it would just be the benefit of upfront parking for us (which is still great).

Hmmmm I have never seen anything like that and I have no idea how to post pictures, maybe someone else will know.

As for the parking - Diamond parking is really no closer than you can get yourself. So I honestly would not see that as a huge benefit.

I will add that we've used the AAA parking lot before, and the only park that I actually thought had any benefit was the Animal Kingdom. The others are still a pretty good walk (particularly when the trams drop you off much closer).

Also, depending on the time of year, it can fill up pretty quickly, and then it's not available regardless.
