Owners Locker

Do you think thats possible with this service?
Yes, I’ve read multiple posts saying they travel with just a small carryon or backpack. Some people keep all their Disney clothes, bathing suits, sandals, etc. in their OL because they wear them only at WDW. It’s especially easy if you’re in a 1BR or larger, so you can wash everything and then pack it up. We didn’t keep clothes in ours, but not having to bring toiletries because we had full size containers of our normal brands in our OL was quite liberating!

They’re 22x20x13. I’m going to buy a similar sized storage container and start putting stuff in it to make sure it all fits.

Funny story - I did this before signing up for Owner's Locker.

After I took all of the stuff to Orlando and put it in the Locker, I kept that storage container at home. Now, when I'm going on a trip but I'm not quite ready to start packing stuff into my suitcase, I toss things in that storage container. It's become my "pre-packing box."

Scissors! OMG, why are scissors not a standard item in villas?

We’re up to two lockers.

One has all the toiletries, kitchen odd & ends, laundry supplies, first aid kit and a humidifier. Extra charging cables for our electronics. And a spare kindle. ;-) Left mine on the plane once, now I insist on having a backup.

Two is all clothes, mostly DH’s since he has a lot he only wears at Disney, but also some stuff we only “might” need some trip like a heavy sweatshirt each, extra running shoes and socks, extra swimsuits, etc.

Hint - compression bags for the clothes means you can cram more into your locker. ;-)

Ok this alone would be worth it, I've never walked on a plane with just a backpack, we are both complete overpackers and its ridiculous that between the two of us we came back with 5 large suitcases and multiple shopping bags 🤣🤣

Scissors would be nice for those pool wristbands

Okay I may have missed them on someones list but we have washclothes all different colors for each family member to have their chosen washcloth color. It makes it easier than remembering which white one was who's. We also have 2 OL because on our summer trip last year DH swore we needed an Air fryer for the room, so yes we have an Air fryer in our 2nd OL. We also keep plastic wrap and aluminum foil, along with good knives and utensils he prefers. DH prefers to cook some while there in the summer on our longer trips as Disney's heavy food gets to him after awhile. I will say they are addictive like add-onitis you start with 1 OL and quickly find you need more.

It seems like a lot of people that utilize OL cook in the rooms. I never thought id do this on vacation, but I think it would be fun to go with family and cook an Italian night at Riviera or skewers at Polynesian!

I am with your husband we ate out every day for our two week trip last time plus cruise and I literally felt terrible and bloated. I realize that food must have a lot of salt because I felt fine again after we left and stopped eating all that crap.

I am ALWAYS freezing and she is always hot. I sleep with a mini heater on my side and she sleeps with a mini fan on hers lol.
You should look into an Eight Sleep. It’s a little bit of sticker shock. And I seriously thought it wouldn’t be worth the cost and we would return it during the trial period. My wife is a penny pincher and she demanded we keep it lol. Never slept better and she is always cold and im always hot and we are both better sleepers now. Best purchase we made.

Looking it up right now, we definitely need some type of solution!

Yes, you don't realize it until you can step away. DH is really good at on and off days for cooking versus eating out so we don't feel bloated. I consider myself lucky that he loves to cook and it is not a chore for him. Now the meals are easy stuff like chicken thighs in the air fryer and jasmin rice and a fresh veggie or a breakfast for dinner meal. Things that do not take a lot of prep.

I love to cook too, dishes on vacation are another story, but if im doing the cooking, someone else can take that on!

I am just curious as to what you guys put in them?
The main things are:
  • A slim britta filter (I'd rather not use Orlando Water to make coffee.)
  • A non-stick pan that is not scratched to h-e-double-toothpicks.
  • A set of packable, microfiber beach towels (mostly for water parks)
  • Sunscreen (being mindful of expiration dates)
  • OTC medication (ditto)
  • Random toiletries that I don't want to put in a 3-1-1 bag.
I live in a Delta hub and have status with them, so for me it is not about avoiding bags or saving money. It's about having a little extra convenience---which was the whole point of timeshares for us in the first place.

As for cooking in the units: Mostly what i do is assembly. When the kids were younger, breakfast was a bit more involved--scrambled eggs, tosater waffles, canadian bacon--but those days are behind me. In fact, I probably haven't used the pan in years now.

For sure! The fabric ribbon MM bands are even harder to remove. My daughter and I were struggling with using fingernail clippers to remove them at 1:30am after the Epcot MM in April!
Ugh I had a horror story with one of those things after going to a music festival, it was on way too tight and wouldnt come off.

The front desk didnt have scissors and I was going insane. We tried smashing it with the door, nail clippers, trying to melt it with a hot iron, etc it was crazy and I have ptsd when I see them 🤣🤣🤣

What's wrong with Orlando water 😆

DH and I agreed years ago that if one cooked, the other cleaned up, and that's what we do. He fixes breakfast while I get dressed, then I clean up the dishes. Another reason for a 1BR for the two of us - a dishwasher!

In recent years, DH and I have started sticking around the villa all morning, having sandwiches for lunch, then hitting the parks in the late afternoon and evening. Those park lunches get expensive, so eating in the room saves $$ for our table service dinners.

It tastes bad to some people. I grew up in New Orleans, drinking Mississippi River water, so it's fine to me!

I have a Ninja Foodi Grill in my second locker! We cook dinner a lot now and going down to the grill is a p.i.t.a so we bought one of these and it's smokeless and works great. I got the second locker specifically to have it. We're usually a group of 4-6 (sometimes more) lately and find cooking in not only saves an absolute ton of money but makes park time more flexible since we're not rushing to a reservation.
Have had our original locker since 2009 and would never give it up.
