Owner's Locker

Thanks for the link to the review. I actually feel the same way. With our owners locker our next few trips will be less luggage and stress worrying about what to do with half bottle shampoos and what to pack etc. :goodvibes

It also makes you feel like you are "at home" being able to comeback to your personal items as well. :cloud9:

And the service is GREAT!! :thumbsup2

Hope that some people on the fence about trying Owner's Locker will note the link in the Mousesavers article that gives a free Brita water filter for signing up by 1/3/08. Great deal!

We just returned from eight nights at VWL, and both DH and I only took carry-on luggage, thanks to our Owner's Locker.

I am a beta testing Owner's Locker participant who started out as a real skeptic, but became a quick convert. Until you try it, it's kind of hard to imagine how much you might like it - at least that's how it was with us.

There's something about having a locker with all your Disney stuff ready for you that just makes you feel more like you really "own" a place at WDW. Our locker is crammed with stuff that I used to have to pack and bring down with me every time we went - now it's all just waiting for us at check-in.

Plus the guys who own Owner's Locker are as nice as they can be - completely professional and totally dedicated to making this a fun, dependable, indispensible service. We can't say enough nice things about this company! :worship:

Another beta tester here- we LOVE our locker!

I am trying to convince DW. I think it sounds great!

Can't wait to see my locker this month! I'm so excited to be able to pack all my stuff into carryons! :cool1:

We just become OL users this past trip - I couldn't believe how much I was able to pack in there when we checked out of BWV on 12/28. It was great not going home with so much stuff and it will be even better just using a carry on when we go back again in Feb! :goodvibes

I love mine. I've had it for the last two visits to WDW. I love getting that email from 'my locker' telling me it's getting ready to move to my resort. I get to store a lot of stuff that I normally have to lug back and forth. No more toting shamoo/conditioner, deoderants, toothpaste. I have Disney themed melamine plates/bowls/cups in there. I have holiday WDW sweatshirts/tees in there. Beach towels, clothspins, corkscrew. Sunscreen. It is a huge space saver for each trip. I weed a bit out and make room for anything else I may find that I need.

DH and I are considering this! Thanks for all the good info and ideas of what you store. We may be joining!!!

We keep all those liquid-type items that are restricted by TSA in our Owner's Locker. By that I mean 3oz or less in carry-on luggage, or it must be checked. Like shampoo and conditioner, I have a number of facial products stored, shaving products, sunblock, insect repellant, shoe gel inserts, hairspray, toothpaste, eye drops. We also have things like a travel umbrella, rain ponchos, band-aids, laundry detergent, deodorant, coffee, and slippers. And since the resorts now offer shower gel, we even have a scrubby-poof in our locker.

But the best thing in my Owner's Locker is my terrycloth bathrobe.

Mmmm... That right there is some serious home-away-from-home comfort.

I am one of those folks who have been on the fence for a while here. No doubt it is a great idea and I love the idea of leaving all of that "stuff" right there.

Whenever we return from a trip, I have the clothes unpacked and put away in no time (why? because we have a w/d right in our villa! Love that! Coming home with clean clothes as opposed to piles of laundry is WONDERFUL). But back on topic...

then I have that "other" suitcase. The one with all of that miscellaneous stuff. This bag usually sits around for up to 2 weeks before I get around to unpacking it.

This alone is reason enough for me to consider OL seriously.

But here is my current concern...let's say we stay at our DVC a total of 12 nights per year (over 2 or 3 trips). So I would certainly leave all of our toiletries, laundry detergent, sunblock, etc. in the locker. Also, we always have a ton of bottled water left.

At 12 nights per year, it will take a LOOOONG time to use up full size bottles of many products. Will they go bad? And bottled water does have expiration dates. I also think about things like cell phone chargers. I would gladly leave an extra one there. But getting a new cell every year or every-other year or so, this many not be a huge help. I'd bring it down for one trip, have it for the next, and by the third be on to a new cell with a new charger. Thus, I only save one trip of not having to pack the charger. This is just one example, but I think it sort of fits for other items as well.

What do you think? Is there a minimum number of nights/year spent on property that would make OL more worth it?

Thanks for the great comments. Owner's Locker has been more that five years in the planning to make sure we could be proud of how it works and it's so exciting to see that it really does work and people like it. And it's a dream come true to see people like our friends here at The DIS give us the thumbs up.

3disneykids, if we have learned anything, it's that we can't predict how or if Owner's Locker will work for different people. Everyone has to look at it through their own eyes. So what we do is offer people a free trial. Give us a whirl and if you don't like OL for any reason whatsoever, we'll give you every penny back. I'm sure we'll find people who don't like us...but we haven't so far.

I've been reading OL thread here and on some other boards. I finally bit the bullet today and signed up.

DH wasn't on board originally. He didn't know if the cost was worth it. I told him we most likely could go carryons only (since we do do laundry on our trips) and he perked up at that.

And while he is a trooper when it comes to...ahem...making runs for personal feminine products...I pointed out supplies could be stored in the locker and he thought that was a pretty good bonus.

I'm also looking at IF I choose to check a bag, whatever is stored in my locker will leave room for more loot and probably have another side effect of not having my luggage be overweight.

Can't wait to try it out.

That is EXACTLY how my DH got on board. He claims just one trip down to the hotel gift shop at midnight more than covers the costs. :lmao: You will love having the Locker!
