YES KIDDIES IN THIS DAY AND AGE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ALIVE AND WELL.

We are so impressed with owners locker we will be adding an additional one in January.

Thanks

We have been very happing with Owners Locker as well. Such nice people and our locker shows up everytime. We love it.

Okay - so I have heard about this name a bit but not sure what it is...???:confused3

Owner's Locker is a wonderfull service that provides you with a large plastic container with your name on it. You fill it up with things that you would like to not haul back and forth to Disney. You let Owners Locker know when you are arriving and leaving. When you end your trip, you have bell services pick up the locker and hold it. Owners Locker picks it up and stores it in a climate controlled facility. When you return again, you let them know when and where you are arriving and your Locker magically shows up at bell services. In my case, I got a text message at my home airport telling me that my Owner's Locker had been delivered. It's old fashioned customer service!!!
There is a link on the dis home page I believe that gives you a discount on the service.

so it stores things you may not usein your daily life but want in Disney...like an extra stroller..booggie boards etc???

What did you use yours for out of curiosity..not sure I am thinking outside the box if ya will...

I am a director with Tupp and cook all the time and have tons of doubles I would love to have when we stay...how do you get the stuff there from your home if you want?

I am in serious Type-A planning mode regarding our Owner's Locker! :) You should see my spreadsheet with columns for what I need to buy to put in the locker and what I need to find here and pack. Just tonight I bought all sorts of medicines and first aid stuff to keep in it. Some of the other things I'm storing:

Brita pitcher
Wine tumblers (glass, no stems)
Ponchos
Mini umbrellas
Hidden Mickey guide
Candles & matches
Inflatable bath pillow
Apple Airport Express (to set up wireless network)
Cell charger
iPhone charge/sync cable
mini iPod sneakers
battery recharger & batteries
journal to record details of each visit "home"
scotch for hubby and peach schnapps for fuzzy navels for me ;)
gorillapod
mini screwdrivers
mister fans
pins and lanyards
extra Crocs
swim goggles
extra swim suits

It will be sooooo nice to not have to lug stuff like that an a hundred other things back and forth every trip!

Can someone tell me if there is room in the Owner's Locker for a twin or double inflatable mattress:confused3
A 1 bdrm is a good size for us, but the question of how long we can sleep DS12 and DD10 in the same bed is the question.
Would love to be able to just store the bed there for out next trip.

Thanks.

I've seen many people list an inflatable air mattress on their OL packing list. The locker is 13" high, 22" long and 20" wide, if that helps.

Queen of Frugal here, once I made the plunge and signed up for OL, I was hooked. I LOVE my Ol. I store all the usual things in it; coffee filters, umbrellas, ponchos, backpack, etc.. My favorite things that I store are framed pics of my kids and grandkids, feather pillow, mixer for my breakfast drink, keyboards for our laptops (gotta work a little), the list goes on and on. It's amazing how many items can be stored in a OL!

Glad to hear it. I just recently talked my dh into signing up and I'm hoping it's worth it.

The very first year you had your locker, how did everyone get their stuff down? Bring it? Mail it? Buy it? All of the above?

We bought I'd say about 60% of our things down there and brought the rest in luggage. We still replenish a few things regularly when we go grocery shopping our first day (we use the free online contents list to keep track of what's running short), but now don't need to worry about wasting any excess if something is more than what we need for that trip. Of course, thats when the "value per cubic inch" factor comes into play, but that for another thread :)

We did add anaditional locker today and will load it up in January, it will be nice to travel to WDW with just carryon.

I was thinking about mailing my stuff, but then I realized I'm flying Southwest, and they don't charge for 2 checked bags, so I'll just load up a suitcase and go. :) I can't wait to end the constant find-pack-unpack-store-find again cycle of ponchos, mister fans, etc. Plus it'll be nice to make our "home" a little more homey.

Exactly! My OL makes my life so much easier because all the "find-pack-unpack-store-find again cycle of ponchos, mister fans, etc." is in my OL, plus the little extras (pictures, etc.) that I would not have packed before OL, are now there when we arrive to help make our stay even more wonderful.

I like to cook and often find the knives at rental properties to be dull and difficult to use. When I become a DVC member (January 2009) I'll be signing up for OL and a good set of knives will one of the the first things to go in.

We brought one whole suitcase full of stuff for the locker. We were amazed that the rest of our stuff then fit into just one suitcase for the two of us. We filled the empty suitcase with Disney gifts on the way home. Now we can travel with one suitcase for the two of us when we go to WDW but I have to admit, we usually take two. The extra space ends up being Christmas gifts, birthday gifts, etc. for the return trip. If we ever have to start paying for luggage then that would likely change and we'd go with just one suitcase. Maybe.

That's what we did. Now, I have full size toiletries, my mister fans, ponchos, Disney teeshirts that I never seem to wear at home, my lime green Crocs, a bathing suit, melamine dishware for when we're in a studio, batteries, chargers, Disney holiday stuff, extra clothes (I'm bringing more down so I have 4 changes of clothes there), all sorts of stuff.
I doubt the locker would hold a stroller or boogie board though..they just aren't that big.
But, I have to say that I love the customer service you get. John and Brian are the best. Hoping to see them again during MouseFest...maybe over by France this time (hint, hint!!)

We just filled our locker for the first time this past week. I shipped down a box of items ahead of time to lighten our suitcases. Our locker was waiting for us when we arrived - the front desk CM told us it was there when she brought up our ressie on her screen at check-in.

When it was time to check out, I called Bell Services and they sent someone right up to collect the locker. I asked the CM that arrived how Owner's Locker was working out for them and he said, "It's great - the Owner's Locker people are so nice, and they bring us donuts!"

WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE our Owner's Locker!!!! Had it for the first time this OCT. we shopped and brought things with us and we packed it full before we left. We have a list on our fridge of some things we want to add on our Jan. trip. It will be graet not to bring all that stuff. Our DD adn SonIL are meeting us in Disney from the UK and we put stuff in there for them too so they won't have to bring it all with them. We bought large size shampoo and cond and stuff like that. We have our rum and gin and even bought champagne and martini glasses along with sensible stuff of course.!! The service and staff at Owner's Locker are wonderful. Highly recommend to all!!!!
