Owner's Locker Question

I'm totally new to DVC and have an Owner's Locker logistics question. Can someone else use/leave something in an Owner's Locker for me to use during a later stay? A friend is going to Disney a few weeks before us and we discussed splitting the cost of some toddler items to both use during our stays so neither of us have to travel with them. But there is about a week gap between our stays. If I sign up for Owner's Locker, would it be possible for my friend to basically leave these items in my locker after their stay, and for them to be delivered to me for my stay?

Yes, that would work. When scheduling a "visit" (delivery and pickup) for your OL, you enter the full name that the reservation is in, and the OL will be delivered to whatever resort you specify on the checkin date and picked up on the checkout date. So you could schedule a visit in your friend's name, and they'd have the OL for their stay and could use and add items to it. Then schedule a visit in your name, and you'd have the same access. The OL would be stored in their warehouse between those visits.

Be aware that OL offers different plans that cover various numbers of "visits" each year - e.g. the basic plan includes one visit a year, with additional visits charged per visit, whereas the deluxe plan includes unlimited visits (and is usually more cost-effective if 3+ visits occur each year).

Awesome, thank you so much for this info, this is super helpful! And understood on the plan levels. I just joined DVC and saw a promo for discounted membership and visits for 6 months or a year (need to look in to it further), so was thinking of potentially trying to take advantage of that promo for this situation!

I use owners locker and you can have the locker delivered for any stay. If you have unlimited deliveries there is no charge, if not there is a fee for extra trips.

So if it’s someone you trust and are sharing the locker with you should be fine just having it delivered for their trip and the picked up their last day. Then re-delivered a week later for your trip.
Just schedule both trips in your dash.

congrats and welcome on DVC! hopefully it helps you create lots of amazing memories :)

I've had my owner's locker delivered to someone else.

It is labeled with your name, so I can see it being a problem for a split stay if you don't label it well.

They'll obviously have access to all your stuff in the locker. That person used up my sunscreen and didn't tell me, which wasn't great.

We just checked out a couple of days ago, so I actually remember these details! There is a permanent label with the account owner’s name on it but also a separate card in a clear pocket. That card has the “deliver to” instructions on it - name, resort, checkin date - and when getting ready to check out you flip it over and it just says “checked out” or similar but with no name or date on it. So as long as the information on the card in the clear pocket is correct as far as name, resort and checkin date for that visit, it should be fine. In OP’s case, it would be two visits separated by a week, and the OL would rest in the warehouse in between.

But I see what you’re saying about a split stay, if the friend and OP had overlapping dates - they’d probably have to transfer the OL themselves from one to the other, to be sure it ended up in possession of the second one to arrive. In that case, a call to OL for their input might be helpful.

You could put whatever paper you wanted in the pocket, or bring some sticky notes and label over it.

@Disney5377 I'm a brand new DVC owner and I, too, just signed on for an Owners Locker! I used it for the first time for a trip I had at Pop Century a couple weeks ago. We're not scheduled to take our welcome home trip til the end of March, but I wanted to start putting stuff in the locker, so it would be good to go for our upcoming March trip.

Anyway, if for some reason it doesn't work out for your friend to put things in your OL (I'm sure it will, but in case their trip is cancelled, logistics, etc.) you can send yourself whatever items you need to the resort a couple weeks ahead of your trip. This is what I did, and it was great being able to pick up my box of goodies, plus my OL when I checked in to Pop. I brought a checked bag full of stuff too, so between the package I sent myself to the resort, plus the stuff I brought along for the trip, my OL was fully stocked for my welcome home trip.

Sending the box to myself was easy peasy, and it was well worth the $6 delivery fee I was charged. Just another option for you! I hope you have a magical trip!!

It looks like the promo in the DVC dashboard will work for you as it includes unlimited delivieries.

FYI you will need to sign in to see the details.

Are you allowed to store booze in a locker? Thanks.
DW keeps a large bottle of Tanqueray (1.75 L size!) and some cans of Fever Tree In the locker. She doesn’t drink that much, so it’s lasted a while. I threw a few leftover IPA’s in this past Monday when we were leaving. So we’ll have our drinks upon arrival in 2 weeks again!
