Owner's Locker - is it worth it?

I'm on the fence about purchasing an OL. We go to WDW about 3 times a year for long weekends. I know this topic has been discussed on other boards but feel this group is very candid and wise. I would greatly appreciate any feedback (positive or constructive) from those who have had experience using the OL. If you looked into using OL and didn't, why? Thanks in advance for the help.

We have had an OL since the summer. We have used it three times and I am SO glad we did it!

Not only do I not worry about "wasting" stuff from the grocery (water, laundry detergent) but I pack a whole lot less now. All of the things I typically forget, are in there. Brushes, toothbrushes, cold medicine, diapers, etc.

We also keep stuff in there like balls for the kids to play with and our ponchos.

Hope that helps.

p.s. John and Brian could not be nicer! We had an issue in early September with bell services opening the locker and they called me right after they picked it and and then went back over to the Contemporary to lodge a complaint for me!

I won mine in a contest, and I don't think I would have realized how much easier it makes traveling if I had to think about whether or not it was worth it. It is SO worth it. I am totally hooked. If you go more than once a year I think it's a must. It makes packing very stress free, and I can now pack like DH and throw a bunch of clothes in a carry on and go! ;)

We just signed up and will be using it our first trip this weekend. It took a bit to convince DH but I think it is a wise choice for us.

We are trying more and more to travel with carry on only, we come in 3 or 4 times a year--often for 4/5 nights. Not having to carry all of the stuff I will already have in my locker will make this possible. I would suggest writing down all of the things you would put in the locker--when I did this I was shocked at how many things I take every trip.

I'll say the same thing here I have said on other boards...OL is one of the most wonderful things to come down the pike in a long time!! I have a ton of stuff in mine. But, I have 4 changes of clothes (teeshirts/shorts/socks/etc) all bagged up, ready to go in my bags next week. I'll be leaving them in my OL, and dumping some of the unused stuff in there currently. I have an extra swim suit in there, my lime green Crocs, melamine dishes/bowls, mister fans, regular sized toiletries, batteries, cards, WDW seasonal specific stuff.....Mickey Santa hat, MVMCP sweatshirts...that sort of thing.
Having an OL means I don't have to schlep a ton of stuff every time I go to WDW. And since I go twice a year, at least, that adds up.
There are some people that leave CrocPots, toasters, coffee pots, etc in their lockers...cuts down on dining costs that way.

I say it is a terrific deal...thanks Brian and John for a wonderful service!!!

Thank you for the feed back. I'll make a list of everything I take and see what can be left. It really gets down to I want to get it but my DH doesn't think it's worth it. An itemized list may help matters along.

We actually have two lockers, 1 has clothes and shoes and the other has everything else we can go for 4 days with only a carry on bag. The folks that run O.L. are fantastic once we were staying with friends in Sebring and wanted our lockers I just called and they actually met us at the luggage area with both lockers on a luggage cart. Great idea great company!!!:thumbsup2

How many people using OL stay in a studio? Do most OL users stay in 1 or more bedroom suites?

We're studio stayers. We're tea drinkers, so we left an electric tea kettle, tea bags, mugs, Splenda. Fortunately, they give you the ability to create a list that you save so you know what's in your locker, cause right now, except for the tea and stuff, that's all I remember, and yet it was pretty full!

We're staying 2 nights before and 2 nights after the cruise. It'll be delivered to the Swan for the first 2 nights and they said bell services would hold it till we get back from the cruise.

another thumbs up for us!

I don't own DVC, so usually don't stay in either.

We have stayed in both a studio (many times) and a 1-bedroom (more and more). Love my OL for either type of room.
