I'm seriously considering getting an Owners Locker and I'm wondering how many of you have it and what your thoughts are!

When we take our first trip home in January we'll be staying in a 2 bedroom at AKV :cool1: We will be a total of 10 people, 1 being a baby. I was planning to buy an air mattress and ship it down so my nephew could sleep on it instead of the pull out chair. I'd also love to take a brita filter and a few other things to add a little extra comfort to our stay. Being able to store those items, along with tolietries, laundry needs and maybe a pool toy or 2 would be great!

TIA!!!!

I absolutely love my OL! I've always been the Queen of Frugal and it took me awhile to decide I wanted to try it, then longer to convince DH. They have a money back guarantee so I figured I should give it a try.
I can't imagine being without it now. It makes preparing for trips much easier, and makes unpacking upon returning home a breeze. DH is ready for a 2nd one, and I know we would certainly be able to fill a second one. :rotfl:I need to let go of my tightwad personality for a minute. :rotfl:

We do have a Brita Filter in our (love it), along with so many other things. My list isn't handy right now, but along with the standard toiletries, ponchos, umbrellas, first aid items, coffee filters, flip flops, binoculars (for AKL), etc., we also have keyboards for our laptops, flat screen monitor, multi-plug surge protector, extension cords, feather pillow, framed photos of kids and grandkids. The list goes on and on.
Go for it, I think you will love it. :goodvibes

We love our Owners Locker because it makes our DVC really seem like having a vacation home. Like SamSam I am also budget conscious, but when I think of the cost of OL in the overall cost of DVC ownership it is a drop in the bucket. And for that drop I get a whole lot of convenience. I HATE packing and OL has made both packing and unpacking a breeze. Now when we travel to other vacation places I am SO missing my OL!

LOVE :lovestruc LOVE :lovestruc LOVE :lovestruc our OL!

Totally changed the way we travel. Won't be long before we add Locker #2.

John & Brian get 5 stars for service! :worship::worship::worship:

Can't stress enough how highly we reccommend them.

I so hear you on this! I've gotten use to OL and having basically everything we need (except clothes) to enjoy our vacation, that when we vacation elsewhere I have trouble remembering everything I need to pack.

Same here!

WOW everyone! Thanks so much for all the stellar reviews! I'm definitely going to do it now! :cool1:

Anything to make it easier and more enjoyable is great!

Thanks again!

You will not regret, I promise! After purchasing DVC, it's the best vacation decision we've ever made!

we love ours I don't know how we traveled to Disney without one for so long

Personally, I was sold on the idea from the get-go but it took me like a year to talk DH into it. Once the airlines pretty much all started charging for each checked bag it was an easier sell to DH. So just as soon as I got the A-OK from him I signed up. I shipped a large box via UPS (weighing 44 LBS) full of all the supplies for our trip this past May. We are going again in 3 weeks and I am SO very happy that I don't have to pack all that extra stuff!! My contents list is 3 pages long and has probably 120 items on it!! :thumbsup2

I cannot give the guys at OL enough praise for their customer service either...they always respond promptly to emails or messages left AND they are able to deal with ME and not pull their hair out!!:rotfl:

No offense but this subject seems to happen often?
So? Those of us who love our OLs love talking about the service to others...especially when asked our opinions.

I love mine as well. I have it stocked with those things I hate lugging back and forth...full size toiletries, clothspins, card games, beach towels, 4 changes of clothes, theme park themed clothing and hats. The list goes on and on. I would have to bring another bag with me if I didn't have my OL. In fact, I'm able to make do with just a carryon bag for most trips, and that's a big plus for me.

I can't say enough about our Owner's locker ( and their website, and twitters, and emails)

My Locker just emailed me to say it will see us in a few days I love it. Way better than a welcome home.

And another perk is the Epcot Wine Evenings the hold where you can stop by, chat a bit and they will buy you a glass of wine!! :woohoo:

Yes, service is stellar, and the Epcot Wine Evenings are fun!
We like to spread the word about OL because we think it's a fabulous product!

hey Disney Legend,

I think you make a very good point. Owner's Locker is in the early stages of its product cycle. The early adopters love it (thanks gang!) but a lot of people remain skeptical. After all, people have been coming to Disney for quite some time without OL and seem to have survived pretty well! I mean, can a purple box really change the way you vacation?? (actually, it can).

But as people talk about us, folks who have heard about us but have just thought, "neat idea, but I don't need it" are beginning to think, "maybe I'm missing something."

That's what we're seeing in this thread, and you're right it has played out in these forums before.

I obviously like it and have to smile at the comments of our Members. They're far better at describing Owner's Locker than I am!

I would love to see some OL content lists. I am trying to decide if we should do this and wondering what things people keep in theirs.

Yes please, a list would be great. We don't have lots of points so we won't go as often but with everything being extra when we fly this could save us. THANKS!!

Okay, you asked for it! ;)

I've done some cleaning up of my list recently - finally entered ALL my notes and looked at the pictures I took as I packed to catch the things I didn't write down.

We have 2 Lockers and they are full of all kinds of stuff (I bolded the things that really help us out or make our stays at "home" more comfortable). I keep track of inventory in an Excel spreadsheet. One tab is the inventory, one tab is the shopping list. If I use up something in the inventory and need to replace it, I copy it to the shopping list. Before each trip, I review the list and if there are things I can't get on my grocery stop after arriving, I'll buy ahead of time and bring them with me. Some other people keep things we don't, like wine glasses, a vase for flowers, bathrobe, pillows, air mattresses, framed photos, etc. We certainly don't use every item for every trip, but it's good to know it's there and makes packing a lot easier! Plus there's no need for us to take liquids, so we can more easily travel with carry-on only when we want.

Airborne to Go packets I don't think this stuff works, but my DH does, so I don't mess with his belief system ;)
