Owners locker anyone?!

Thanks to everyone who posted partial (or full...thanks Tara) lists. Needed some extra oomph to push DW over the edge and I think this will do it. OL here we come!

I think your wife will love it!

We Love Our Owners Locker :lovestruc

We already need another one...:thumbsup2

Now if I could just think of a clever name for it...

Can't really figure out the need to spend the extra $$$ for a locker when it's small stuff that tucks into your suitcase. No flames please just please explain the need.

We have a lot of nonperishables in ours, including stuff we wouldn't want to drag on an airplane.

For example, we have a couple bottles of wine, Jack Daniels, snack packs of doritos, pudding, lemonade mix, pasta, can of spaghetti sauce, green been cans, tuna helper box and tuna and pancake mix, oil and vinegar, salt and pepper, garlic and other spices.

So when we get there, we can have bourbon on the rocks, munch on our doritos while the pasta is cooking. Throw the sauce on pasta and serve with our green bean vinaigrette and wine.

Viola! Dinner, and we didn't have to make a trip to the store.

Add in some , milk, butter and syrup from the convenince stores, and we're good for the morning, too.

We restock our locker the second or third day of the trip.

We also have placemats and other touches from home I don't like to drag back and forth.

You don't even need to bring binoculars!! The guys at OL will deliver them to your resort (for a small rental fee) along with your owners locker and pick them up too! See how easy it is!!!

Really?! Thanks so much!! I was having trouble finding a pair that was decent and not way out of line with the amount of money I wanted to spend!

We just purchased our 1st Owner's locker...very excited to have it for our trip in November / December!

I really love my owner's locker. I've had it for just about two years now, and it's really been a great thing. I'm amazed by how much stuff I can fit in there. Here is a partial list of what I have stored in mine:

*four days worth of clothing in there
*a jacket
*two pairs of sneakers
*sandals
*assorted toiletries (all full sized)
*an extention cord (because the outlets in a BWV studio aren't always convienent)
*spare glasses (it's nice to know I have a pair down their in case I lose or break mine)
*baseball hat
*laundry detergent (I used to have a full sized bottle, but wound up getting a few smaller ones to save space)
*framed picture of my nieces and nephews to put on my nightstand
*full sized hair dryer (because those ones in the rooms are useless on thick hair)

I'm really amazed by how much stuff I can fit in their, and I was thrilled when I was able to take a week long trip using only a carry on in May! For a chronic over packer like myself, that is huge :)

And John and Brian are great. They are the nicest guys, and they take care of our lockers. They even sent out an e-mail after a storm last year to let us know that our lockers were fine. They really go above and beyond!

The OL definitely seems worth it if you go often and/or go for longer periods of time but what about someone that just goes for a week once a year? Those that have posted here…do any of you go just for a week once a year and have an OL?

Are items like cooking oil, syrup and such, fine after sitting in the OL for a year or two?

Go for it! They give great service with a smile. I wonder what I ever did without it.

If you are only flying Southwest and going once a year, then OL might not be for you. Southwest doesn't charge a baggage fee.

We fly AirTran and are charged $15 for the first bag for each of us, so that's $60 saved to go towards our OL fee because we can now travel with only one carry-on each. I think we are allowed 2 carry-ons, but we don't need two.

OL just saves me so much time when packing for a WDW trip. We are taking our second non-Disney trip and I'm actually feeling cranky about all of the stuff I have to pack. I want an OL for HHI.

We fly SW but we always seem to have at least 1 overweight bag on the trip home that cost us $50! On our last family trip in Jan or this year the super nice skycap who helped us with our bags told DH to go instead and buy an extra bag from SW for $40 (I think) and re-pack some stuff. Which we did and saved $10.

I figure leaving all the tolietries and stuff in the locker will save a ton of weight!

I HATE trying to pack all the tolietries and cram them into the bag and make sure nothing is going to leak! This way I don't have to! I'm buying full size of everything we would normally use at home and will ship them down in box before the trip and then put everything in the locker.

To me, the convenience alone is worth the price!

First let me say i love the owners locker but I can;t imagine how you can fit all that people list in one locker. I filled my locker the first time we used it and barely fit everything in it. Maybe it is that I have girls that all need seperate hair things and way to many ponchos. I am going back in sept and will have to see actually what i have in their. It seemed like full size bottles took up lots of the room in the locker. I can;t imagine even having clothes so do most folks get more then one locker and is their a discount for the second one.

Hi Bouncin,

Here's the info on the cost of Owner's Locker:

1.There is a one-time Membership Fee that covers the cost of the Locker itself as well as its initial delivery and pickup at the end of your initial Visit. This is usually $75 but under the exclusive DIS deal, the Membership Fee is $45.

2.There is an annual fee of $99 for storage in our climate controlled warehouse and one free Visit (that's what we call a delivery and pickup). Extra Visits are $25 each. Under the DIS deal, you also get an extra free Visit for the first 3 years of your Membership in Owner's Locker.

I hope this makes sense. If you have specific questions that I haven't answered, let me know.
j

John, if you're still here...

about the exclusive DIS deal? Is this still available? If so, how do we sign up under that?

Owners Locker is wonderful. It is very convenient and dependable. You receive emails confirming your delivery and pick up dates and are notified when your locker is "back home". Go for it!

Thanks to Owner's Locker, I just finished packing for our trip, and I got all our clothes for both of us into one small carry on. We'll each have a briefcase, and I'll have my breathing machine for night, and that's it!

LOVE my Owner's Locker! Now if I could just talk DH into a second one!!!
Over "stuff"ed is pretty heavy!
