That depends upon where you eat. Counter service has some good options available, but if you want "exotic" you need to look to the table service venues, like Sanaa and Jiko.

I gravitate toward orlando for the amusement....not the food...that is secondary...but it would be nice to eat something that is pallatteable and doesnt give me a stomach issues my second day in....

there are 100's of many great resorts/ bed and breakfasts around the country that do that way better...if my vacation revolved more round eating...I would go there instead!

I think part of that is in food choices. I personally can't do hot dogs, chicken fingers, pizza and burgers on my entire trip. I'd have stomach issues too! Fresh sushi, salads, grilled chicken, etc. are much less likely to give someone stomach issues than 7 days of burgers, fries, hot dogs, etc.

I don't think Disney is an exotic dining destination, and it's not that our vacation revolves around food, but at the same time, my family doesn't really eat fast food much at home. We'll enjoy a Casey's dog here and there, or a burger, but eating that every day on our trips would make us positively sick. Our best meals have included sushi, salads, and roasted chicken. And that was at CS restaurants.

But again, if packing a cooler and doing Wegoshop works for you, that's great. There's more than one way to eat at WDW!

I'll agree with you there are other resorts/bed & breakfasts around the country or even internationally that do a great job with the cuisin. I spent a week in a resort in the Turks/Caicos that had incredible food, nice beach, and that was about it. Ohh I should add that it also cost me dearly for that....

But I don't think anyone puts the whole package together the way WDW does: Resorts, restaurants, enviroment, fun, and rides. To spend half a day in DHS and experience the incredible special affects of the ToT, the thrill of RnRc, have fun at TS, and catch a few shows. Then head back to a nice resort like the YC and relax by the pool in SAB for a few hours. Then take the leasurly stroll around Crescent Lake over to Intenational Gateway and into the world showcase, grab an incredible snack at Boulangerie Patisserie in the French Pavillion take in all of the great nations in the world showcase, head over to an experience like Soarin, and then settle in at a very nice dinner at Coral Reef or perhaps instead, stroll back over to the world showcase and enjoy a good steak at Le'Cellier, or Teppon Edo in Japan, perhaps even some Brats, Kraut, and polka in the German pavillion.

So, yes I will agree there are 100's who do food better than WDW; but I don't think there is any other location in the WORLD that does the whole package as great as WDW does.

You weren't one of those kids growing up where you had to put your hand on the stove twice to learn the first time was not a fluke.

I will never make that mistake again, I've been to ABC Commissary once and it will never happen again.

Believe me, if I had a choice, I wouldn't have picked the Commissary. I was with a bunch of people who were at a fan meet, and that was that majority vote or something. I think Len Testa was trying to get it reviewed for the Unofficial Guide. I think my vote was tossed out.

My family actually LOVES Casey's!

I am different from a lot of the pp here, and I do agree about the prices at Casey's at crazy, but I have to have my Casey's.

Sadly, Casey's just isn't Casey's any longer. It's still there. They serve hot dogs. But if you compare the hot dogs they serve today vs. the hot dogs they served a few years ago, you'll notice that the dog and the bun have been swapped out with inferior quality product.

Casey's used to have a large 100% kosher beef Vienna hot dog. On a standard bun. Within the past couple of years, the buns are a multigrain "wheat" blend that are dry and disintegrate. And just within a year, the hot dogs themselves are no longer 100% beef. There's chicken and pork in there now. Different type of dog.

That's what makes dining frustrating nowadays. There are very few tried and true items left that haven't been tampered with.

True, but that is not what the OP asked.She asked what resorts had kitchens.I will say if you get a good discount for the DVC properties it isn't that cost prohibitive.I have done just that the last 3 trips.

Food at Disney can be expensive, but I know that and plan ahead by checking menus, prices and budget accordingly. I go for both the experience and the food, eating in WS and resort restaurants takes my vacation to another level. If I don't plan on eating in the park I take a soft-sided cooler and put it in a locker. That way when I'm hungry I can go out, have a sandwich and a soda and go back in and enjoy myself until it's close to time for my ADR. I know what to expect when I go and a little bit of advanced planning food-wise usually makes the trip much more enjoyable and cost effective. Mmmm....thinking of Dole Whips now.
