Overly complicated question for tween user of G+ and MB+

Ok, so found this on the plan Disney site from last fall:

Age 18 to purchase G+
Age 16 to make lightning lane reservations with G+
Age 13 to have a MDE account

So, thinking we will have DH add her ticket/MB+ to her profile under his management, and have her log into his MDE on her phone. Hopefully we can use that set up and her phone’s blue tooth to do everything we want….

The above looks correct. Both my kids ended up getting their own MDE acct at around 13. My 17 yo was at DLR in April and I had to purchase his G+ from clear back home in Hawaii. He was then able to link up with his classmates and made their LL choices. It was quite confusing!

1. Yes and no. The MB+needs to be charged to work fully. It also needs to be fully paired to do some stuff. Even if she can't pair it, then she would still be able to make the statues sing, she just won't be able to 'collect' them in MDE. We bought MB+ when they were new, and initially could not get ours to pair at all, but the software has since been updated.

2. It doesn't matter which type of bands everyone uses. More or less, the bands will all work as long as they are linked/listed in your MDE account to work. Someone using a very old band might not capture all the ride photos. MB+ have to be freshly charged every day to full work, but the basic functions will still work even if it is not charged or fully paired.

3. You can pair her band to your MDE as soon as it arrives, before your trip starts. Glitches aside, it is easy and works with most phones. The directions come with the band.

We just use one MDE account when we go, so I can't help with the having multiple accounts part of your questions.

Choosing G+ isn't hard to do. the part that is a tiny bit challenging is keeping track of the return and booking times. The way I keep track of them is to set alarms on my phone.

To get a VQ, you have to join the VQ at exactly 7am or 1pm. What really helps is for one of you to have an atomic clock app, or use NIST time. (go to NIST.gov website for this.) We use two phones. One person has their phone open to the VQ part of MDE. The second person uses their phone to see and call out a 5-second count-down to 7am.

Thanks!! I’ve been the power-MDE user in the family but now that DD is older I’m excited for her to help too! I love your 5 second countdown trick- I’ll remember that! We love watching you tubers all the time to get the tips and tricks and live vicariously through them :)
