Overlapping reservations - DVC and Swan

I recently went on a spending spree and purchased four resale DVC contracts. One contract just had the points loaded today and I was surprised with 15 additional points that the previous owners has banked. Yay!

We already have a trip planned and booked at the Swan. It was a package deal booked through Costco with my in-laws, and I don't want to go through the hassle of trying to change our reservation.

I am thinking about booking one night with my extra DVC points at the new VGF studios. This night would overlap with our first night at the Swan.

My concern is - If both reservations are linked to my Disney account, is this going to cause problems?

I thought I had read something about reservations being cancelled if you have more than one reservation in your name for the same night linked to your account. Has anyone had this happen to them?

Should I not link my VGF reservation to my Disney account since my Swan reservation is already linked? Is this even possible?

You can book a room for your friend Mick A. Mouse who doesn't have a MDE and check in at the desk. They'll give you a keycard. You leave Mickey Mouse (and MDE) linked to the Swan.

To do this correctly for a reservation you want on MDE, you would book DVC for Mickey Mouse and then add the reservation to your MDE with the DVC reservation number and match up the name to yourself. If you never do that, Mick is out hanging.

Downside is you won't know when your room is ready and can't use your phone to unlock it. They'll probably also require the normal front desk stuff you don't do with MDE anymore, like a card on file and such.

Thanks for the suggestion! When I first read this, I thought I literally make a reservation for Mick A. Mouse, and then I thought, wouldn't I have to show an ID for "Mick A. Mouse" when I check in?? Hahaha...

So let me see if I have this right. My Swan reservation for the week is already booked under Poppy Jones. I already have this linked to MDE.

I now should make a reservation for VGF under Poppy A. Jones, who does not have MDE. I then would go to check in at the desk and get a physical key card for my room.

When I make a reservation through my DVC account, it asks for the physical mailing address and email address for Poppy A. Jones. Should I also enter different information than Poppy Jones reservation for Swan? I'm thinking specifically a different email address so they don't link up.

I would book for Pop A. Jones. DVC doesn't care what your physical addresses or email addresses are. I use mine for everyone I book. (This used to matter when they mailed out magic bands or MDE tags) The trick is to never put it into MDE, because you could match Pop A. Jones to yourself, if you wanted to.

Will they care when I check in that my ID says Poppy A. Jones, not Pop A. Jones?

People misspell stuff all the time. I guess you could go with Poppi Jones. I'm sure they've seen worse.

I would consider calling costco...they are really easy to take that room off and save some cash....
