We have a split stay coming up and want to do the first with the DXDDP and the second stay with the regular Dining plan. Question is... on the day we check out of resort 1 and into resort 2, we want to use 2 dining credits for dinner from the first dining plan, and 1 quick service for lunch that day. Can we do this?

So we check out of resort one (with 2 remaining DxDP credits). We check into resort two which will activate the new dining plan. We go to a QS lunch and use a credit, then go to dinner and use the remaining 2 credits from the first dining plan at a signature. With some careful planning, can this be done?

I haven't seen anyone with that specific experience, but there have been reports that you cannot use the credits from the second reservation until the credits from the first are used up. Since the DxDDP uses "meal" credits, it's unlikely you'd be able to use credits from the second stay when the credits from the first stay are valid and available for that purpose.

Yes you can...as long as you do not try to combine credits from each account for one meal. Just make sure you tell the cashier which account to deduct your CS from and the server which account to deduct your 2 TS from (as long as the 2 TS are from the same account it will work).

No, they won't make you wait until you have used ALL the credits from the first account.

THank you both so much! I would love to get the confirmation on this before I go ahead and book..is there some sort of dining plan number i can call to ask lol?

You'll get a more accurate answer here than you will by calling Disney.

The only problem you might have is that if you have a server or cashier who does not know how to do what you want to do. Then you can ask if there is a manager or supervisor you can talk to.

We were in the same situation last January (deluxe then regular). We had to use every single credit from the deluxe (including snacks and mug credits) before we were able to use credits from the regular plan. It may have changed since but that's how it worked in January.

Because of how the system works, it is possible that the system will get confused. You can use DDP entitlements until midnight of the day you check out of the first reservation. I have seen where the system does not recognize that your new reservation has started and is trying to use DDP credits from the first reservation (which has all been used up) Should this happen, charge the meals back to the room and bring your receipts to the front desk to have them reverse the charge and charge your new reservations dining plan accordingly. If this happens (and I am not saying it will, only a possibility) it will only effect you for the first day where the two reservations overlap.
