In January of 2004, my daughter (7years at the time) and I took our first 'mother-daughter' trip to WDW and stayed at the ASM. Although this wasn't my first trip there, this was the first time I stayed at one of the Disney resorts. This whole experience was new to my DD and she had a wonderful time. Our last day there was spent at Magic Kingdom. The whole highlight of her trip was when we were sitting on the curb, waiting for the parade and fireworks. We actually found a spot two hours before the parade started and realized that it was pure torture, making my DD wait that long. So, like any mother would do to spoil her child anymore, I purchased just about every wand and light up toy that was being sold at the time. (I have to admit, the batteries still have not run out and they are still in good condition so I think I got my money's worth!.) Well, one of the CM saw how 'lit' up she was (while entertaining herself with the new toys) and asked if she would help let release the 'fairies' to turn out the lights on Mainstreet. She gladly accepted and I don't think I have ever seen her eyes get so big. When it came time to turn out the lights, she 'gathered' all the magic fairies in her hand. Once she released 'them', the lights went out. To this day, she still believes it was pure magic! :wizard:

Do you have a magical experience that you would like to share? I'd love to here it so please tell all.

thanks for sharing it with us and hope others will give us their special moment too.........thanks again

Do you have to be in a certain spot to be asked to help "light" the parade? Is there a certain area we should aim for, and hope?
What a wonder experience for a little girl! You really had the magic with you!
Thanks for the trip report! :cheer2:

I don't know if there is a certain spot where you have to be. I think it's more of a random thing. But I will let you in on a little secret. One of the CM's told me that if you go to guest relations when the park opens, you may be able to put in a request to turn out the lights on Main Street. I believe they will give you a set time to return so this can be done. How true this is, I don't know. :hyper2: We just happened to be at the right place at the right time. We were actually sitting on the curb in front of the castle on Main Street. This is a wonderful experience for little ones (and grown-ups too!). Also, if you go to WDW to celebrate your birthday :cake: , let the CM at the front desk of the Disney resort know. You may just get a little surprise! :rolleyes1
