Just got news from the birthday person that they have a cracked/injured sternum from a accident awhile back, the only ride I mentioned we should go on (person has a deadly fear of heights) was California Screamin'

After they asked if the restraints go over your head, they said they couldn't.

So is there any other rides besides California Screamin' that has this type of restraint? I don't want to have them miss out on some great rides. :(

There are more than that, doesn't Space Mtn go over your head? Mulholland Madness? Those are ones that go over your head.

But most of the others are seat belts so the bday person should be ok on those. :)

Space Mtn has a lap bar or at least it did in March. lol I don't know about Mulholland madness. I've never ridden it.

Watching the videos, it looks like Space Mountain is on the lap, unless they added a loop?

Ha. :)

I"m 99.9999999% sure that Maliboomer and Screamin' are the only shoulder restraint rides, b/c hubby has some problems with shoulder restraints and they stick out in my mind.

Space and Madness are both individual lap bars.

Shoulder restraints are used on rides that invert like California Screamin. Screamin is the only inverted ride at DLR. Rockin Rollercoaster has them at WDW as it too inverts. RnR is the only inverted ride at WDW.

Maliboomer is a special case in that it goes up and down rapidly. So it is the only other DLR ride with shoulder restraints. I was mistaken about Dumbo. ;)

Space Mountain at DL Paris inverts and it has them. Space Mountain at DL or MK does not invert and does not have them.

Ok, so theres only 2 rides that he can't go on, thanks guys! :D

(Luckly I don't have to drag him to California Screamin... or else he'd try to find a way out of the restraints. lol)

I just noticed your ticker...have FUN! Dang, what a great place for a first date!!!!!

And knowing that you won't accidentally put him on a ride that will make him shriek in pain makes it so much better. :upsidedow

Thanks for clearing that up, since I rarely ride Space or MM I couldn't remember. :) But yes, now that I'm reminded I'm remembering lap bars. :)

OP have fun!

Thanks guys, and yeah, we already have things planned, seeing fantasmic, going on the tours (Not sure how the segway one is o.o) And a 2 bets each for each Toy Story game we ride on. :D

Should they be riding any Roller Coasters at all? :confused3 All the roller coasters really throw your body around, seems like you could do some real damage if it isn't healed.

Talked to him about it, I the lap ones are good for him is because straighting his posture on his shoulder/chest or whatever causes him the pain. But he said he knows what he can and can't do. So i'm sure we'll go nice and slow, we got a whole week. :D
