Over the River and Through the Woods to Mickey's House We Go! And Grandma is in Tow!

It's now only 40 days until we hit the road to Walt Disney World and I'm not doing so hot at posting our trip details. I'm getting really lousy at keeping up with my subscribed threads. All these holidays, road trips, medical issues, etc. have kept me pretty busy and I'm beginning to feel like a bad Disboarderer or is that Disboarder or maybe even Disboarderererer. :rotfl:

Speaking of Ers, does anybody ever watch Hoarders? Just plain disgusting the conditions some of those folks live in. Sorry, off subject.:rolleyes1

Anyway, I've posted our travel day and our Day One Epcot plans. Let's move on to our official second day at Walt Disney World.

Day Two: Magic Kingdom day!:cheer2:

Park hours are 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. with the afternoon taking place at 3:00 p.m. Spectromagic is supposed to start at 9:00 p.m. and Wishes at 10:00 p.m.

Our plan is to get up and be at the Magic Kingdom at 9:00 a.m. I didn't say that's what we would do but that's the plan. John doesn't move as fast as the rest of us in the morning. He'd just as soon we go on without him and he catch up with us later. I don't like to do that though since it's a family vacation meaning that I want our family to be together. However, when it comes to our Hollywood Studios day (coming later on in the pre-trip report if I ever get to it), Hunter and I plan to leave John and Mama at the resort while we hightail it to Star Wars Weekend. Sorry, drifting off subject again.

Last year, we had wonderful bus service and I hope that's the case again this trip. Here's a picture of John last year on the ride to the Magic Kingdom:

Poor baby, it takes him a while to wake up in the mornings. Those epilepsy meds are very sedative. At least that's what he tries to blame his little naps on.

When we get to the Magic Kingdom, we'll join the throng (no I didn't say thongs ;)) of other people walking down Main Street:

I think we'll probably start touring the park by going left throughAdventureland. Of course, I'll have to stop and take a picture of the beautiful Cinderella's Castle:

Before crossing underneath the Adventureland sign:

Every since my Mama went with us to Disney in 2000, she's talked about that wonderful smell that came from a building in Adventureland. That building that sold ice cream that we never stopped at. In all of our trips to Disney, we've never ever eaten a Dole Whip which is what Mama is talking about. This is a "must do" on our list but I'm sure we won't be stopping there until a little later in the day.

I'm pretty sure we'll skip the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse. Mama's knees just ain't what they used to be and climbing up and down those steps wouldn't be a good thing. We'll also skip Aladdin's Magic Carpets for now so that we can get in line for the Jungle Cruise so we can see this guy:

From there, we'll go to one of our favorites.....Pirates of the Caribbean. Wait, I take that back. I'm sure we'll stop by the Enchanted Tiki Room.

100_2629.jpg

Where we'll enjoy a few jokes, some songs, be scared by the Tiki Goddess and then thrown out by one of our gracious hosts:

Then....we'll go get in line for Pirates of the Caribbean:

100_2654.jpg

Get him girl!

100_2660.jpg

Does this guy ever take a bath?

100_2666.jpg

By the way, has anybody ever heard the tale about a ghost named "George" that lives in the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction? I've read something about you can say you don't believe in him and 9 times out of 10 the attraction shuts down. Anybody else heard this?

I am sure that by the time we finish our cruise with the pirates, I'll be needing a potty break if I haven't already. And, I'm sure that we'll be getting hungry since we don't eat a "real" breakfast unless, of course, you call Little Debbie Fudge Rounds or a banana breakfast.

Mama said she thinks that we ate at Pecos Bill's when she went with us but she doesn't know for sure. She loves sauteed mushrooms and is looking forward to them as am I. So, I'm sure that we'll be making a stop at Pecos Bill's for lunch.

Just look at the goodies we ate there last year. This was taken before our trip to the fixin's bar.

And this was what our tray looked like after we finished up our meal:

Anybody who says the portions at Disney are too small are out of their every lovin' mind.

***Up next, the second half of our Magic Kingdom day.

Oh, the feeling of a trip paid in full! HOW RELAXING. Now all you have to do is wait. Which may prove to be harder than paying for the trip! :goodvibes

I"m sure you'll have an awesome dismeet. I'll be hanging out with some disers in september also. Can't wait!

I love that feeling but I hate the waiting. However, with the way things have been going this past week or two, the time should fly by.

YAY FULL PAYMENT!:cool1: hehehe yay! just looking at ur pics and others, im getting more excited, i really just wanna hop around the house now lol, only like 16 days left then ill be at the happiest place on earth!!

I forgot to mention that you're supposed to disregard the date stamp on the pictures I post. My camera did all sorts of stupidy dupidy stuff last year and I was constantly taking the batteries in and out. Thus, the wrong date.

I don't blame you for wanting to jump around the house. I know I'll be hopping around when I get to just 16 days.

WAY To GO on getting the trip all paid for!!:woohoo: I know you are happy with that off your plate!!
BTW I posted some Easter pics in my PTR

You and I must have been posting at the same time 'cause I was just over on your report telling you how cute your princess was.

First....yes, I've seen Hoarders. It's one of those shows that if I stop to watch even a little, it SUCKS me in! It's like a train wreck...I just can't look away! :guilty:

Second...did you say you are going to wear your thong to WDW?? OH MY! :lmao:

Love the itinerary so far. MMMMM.....dole whip! :) Can't wait to get mine when we are there in May!! I can almost taste it now! :cloud9:

I know what you mean about Hoarders. I start watching it and just can't stop. I don't understand their way of thinking but I am sure they couldn't understand mine either.

Heck no I won't be wearing a thong. Who wants a piece of thread crawling....you get my drift.:rotfl:

Can you believe I've never eaten a Dole Whip? I am really not supposed to have milk because it gives me headaches and nosebleeds but from what I understand a Dole Whip is probably worth a nosebleed or two.

Hey.....good news! You may not need to endure a headache after all!

Dole Whip: "Dole Soft Serve Mix is a lactose free dry mix that is reconstituted with tap water and frozen down in a soft serve machine. Marketed under the popular Dole brand name, this unique product delivers an intense, natural pineapple fruit flavor, yet is fat free and cholesterol free.". That phrase - while being technically accurate - fails to capture the joy your tastebuds experience when introduced to a Dole Whip.

(I found this when I did a search for dole whip/dairy?)

Whoa! That is good news! I think that calls for at least two Dole Whips!

Lisa, sounds like a good day planned so far...I really need to remember the dole whip this year...I know I had one waaaaayyy back in 1996 time for another one! and I really like the info Missy found on it; now it makes it even more inviting!

Just sent a funny PM.....while we're on the topic of thongs! LOL!!! :lmao:

I haven't laughed that hard in a while. Thanks for sending it!

I can't believe that I've never even tried a Dole Whip before. We have gotten the frozen/slushy orange juice before and it was delish!

Uh, yes, I'm ashamed to admit that I have seen it. UNBELIEVABLE the conditions that some people live in, isn't it?:eek::eek:

There may be some thongs, as well! ;)

Love the plans. I can't wait until we're all there! :woohoo:

Hi Lisa! The first half of MK day sounds fun to me. I've never had a Dole Whip either...what's wrong with us girl??? :lmao:

All of this Dole Whip talk here on the DIS and I didn't get one last trip. I need to try one too. It's on my list for september!

The Dole whip and the Dole whip float are amazingly delicious - I can't believe so many of y'all have missed them!! On those hot days they are so refreshing!

Girl, you might want to rethink the family togetherness thing. The thing that makes our joint trips so successful is that we have some separate time. Some of us are commando types and others want plenty of down time and some need more rest. :confused3 Some like to stay up late and some like to get up early. With cell phones it is fairly easy to reconnect, so let John start slowly and y'all can make rope drop. Then if your mom or someone gets tired they can take a break while others keep going. It's all good!! :cool1:
